I don't think so, nobody thinks so. Normies have their iPhones encrypted, so even they do encryption and aren't pedos. /thread
Yes, everyone knows only terrorist pedophiles use encryption. If you have nothing dirty to hide, why use the encryption?
Well /g/ents, I've been using Arch for awhile, and I'm bored. Gonna try out Gentoo on my desktop machine after I get home from work today. What is your experience with installing Gentoo? How is day-to-day use as compared to Arch?
inb4 fell for the meme, I don't give a shit, I like trying new things.
Oh, and is there really any appreciable difference between Gentoo and Funtoo?
>>53859211
Install gentoo.

Pic related.
Funtoo is opinionated Gentoo with less support. If you thought pacman was hot shit, wait till you learn portage.
What program language do you use for which cases?
I feel like I always used programming languages wrong until now. For example, my console GUI engine (TUI engine) I did in C.
People keep saying that for stuff like that, you should use Python or Ruby instead, but isn't Python just as much boilerplate?
Regardless, I think it's like this:
>C for hardware programming
>Python/Ruby for shell scripts
>Java for GUI projects or programs that would rely on third party libraries

C for embedded hardware programming
C++ when you need high performance
Java when you need to stay cross platform
Python for rapid prototyping and scripting
Swift for Appleshit things
C# for Microsoft things
This if you don't want to bet on modern programming languages (like Rust, Go and Scala).
My languages use cases :
C for embeded
Java for desktop GUI
Python for everything else
(I don't deal with mobile stuff)
I spent hundreds of hours learning other languages like C++/C#/PHP but I never use them.
>>53859139
I use Python for everything. I feel like its descendant of LISP.
Did I do good /g/?
This is a script designed to generate random japanese sentences, and it's set to run in my .bashrc file 5 times everytime I open up a new terminal window. I'll slowly add to it as I learn more words and verbs.

good stuff, first day programming?

Yup. I'm at about exercise 40 in LearnPythonTheHardWay.com by Zed Shaw, who I understand is mildly controversial in the tech community.
>>53859035
He's a loudmouth, arrogant, douche. So the SJWs hate him, sane normal people are disgusted by him, and non-douche programmers are annoyed by him. He's not bad-ass enough to get away free with talking as much shit as he does.
What's a good mouse for gaming? I'm gonna play counter strike with my lads, been using an old genius mouse but then it randomly stopped working out of nowhere. Thinking about upgrading to a gaming mouse instead of buying another cheap $5 mouse.

What's the point of having so many programming languages?
Why not unify them and increase productivity?
>>53858588
they work differently and are intended for different uses.
Can I use my Raspbian installation that runs on my Raspberry Pi 2, on a Raspberry Pi 3?

Egypt just blocked Facebook's Free Basics service because Facebook wouldn't let them spy on its users.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-facebook-egypt-idUSKCN0WY3JZ
>Free Basics, launched in Egypt in October, is aimed at low-income customers, allowing anyone with a cheap computer or smartphone to create a Facebook account and access a limited set of Internet services at no charge.

Knowing Egypt gov it was bound to happen. But free basic it's far from ideal. Although it can give access to poor people to more information in the long run they'll lose.
>>53858271
>in the long run they'll lose
Why?
This just shows that the Egyptian government is as fucking mentally retarded as its people.
Facebook only cooperates with corporations.
If you are a government, of course you will get denied.
That's why a government gets a privately run company, such as an ad company which Facebook will gladly serve, to serve as a mediator for the government.
Dumb fucks.

Everybody and his mother knows Touchwiz's flaws.
Let's discuss other OEM skins (and features), point their weaknesses and strengths.
I like Sense's recent apps more than stock.
>>53857984
Same here, actually. The Lollipop switcher is fucking awful.
Sony's recent apps menu has a shitty "small apps" bar that can't be removed, but I really like their app drawer. You can organize apps however you like (including moving them around freely) and have folders in there. AND it's incredibly light compared to other launchers.
pic related is a bit outdated, but it looks almost the same
>>53858074
I actually like Sony's stock skin.
A few conolaints though
>stock icons are ugly as shit
>can't hide top bar on home screen, 2clockslel
>always showd page dot on home screen, even if only one page
The apps menu is very nice with some neat sorting options. Small apps I have never used, but at least they aren't shoved down your throat.

Expensive and have lower specs. It's also a smartphone so freetards will hate it.
It's also Apple and hating apple is the default state before trying an Apple product.
iOS is objectively shit, not to mention you're paying a premium for shit hardware and peripherals
>>53857977
Expensive but worth the price.
Let us discuss all the great things good guy Microsoft has given us for free with Windows 10. We got directx12, new appstore, improved updates system, improved resource usage, newer and improved Edge browser, improved start menu, native Ubuntu support, and a shitload of other things. It's great to see Microsoft finally do good for a change.
>>53857916
I agree with you. I am really starting to love the new Microsoft too! Windows 10 has been AMAZING so far, and the best part is it's completely FREE!
I have noticed Windows 10 is a lot faster than the previous versions of Windows. It's also a lot more secure with the new Windows Defender.
