ITT: You rate the company you work at.
I'll start.
Company: General Electric
Location: Bay area
Rating: Shit tier
Comment: Shit company full of incompetent people (ex-consultants), low pay, shit culture. Can't wait till I've worked here for a year so I can jump ship without looking bad. Just go to glassdoor and ignore every fake review that gives the company 4 or more stars.
What is it exactly that you do?

honestly, I just assume every 4chan poster is a shit tier employee. I've fired multiple 4chan posters cause they tried to sneak memes into their professional work.
I've been stumped for the last hour. no matter what I try, it always detects that I'm asking for a file within the same directory. I've tried every possible combination I could think of.
I've google around, but not much luck. Not even an example of a proper path being wrote, just "import "path\to\your\file\here"" shit.
What am I doing wrong?

i thought we were supposed to ignore generals since they're apparently ruining the chan experience
i do think vidya is the biggest waste of time ever, but I only run linux as a VM
>Go to work as a programmer and write soul-suckingly shitty code for your Enterprise Solutions™
>Go home after 8 long hours, write even more shitty code, for free
Why?
I listen to idolm@ster music while coding.
>>53873349
Most people write open source code at work. More than 80% of Linux kernel programmers are paid by a company.

This is straight from their privacy statement that you agreed to.

Why don't you download it, install it, use Wireshark to watch all the data that comes and goes when you're not even doing anything, watch how it sends data with every keypress, mouse click, anything at all. Watch how ever when you're running Windows 10 you'll get popups to install Windows 10 because Microsoft doesn't have a fucking clue anymore.
Or you could just stop posting stupid shit on 4chan and leave.

You may only post in this thread if Gentoo is your main OS.

All *Ubuntu-fags must report their whereabouts to Amazon/Microsoft.
All Arch-fags must fix their X.org conf

Manjaro user here... I have no clue what an X.org conf is... so there faggot.
I want to venture away from Ubuntu (Lubuntu, Ubuntu Server, Kubuntu) and try out a non-debian based distro. What is a good distro to run occasionally in a window manager but mostly without gui for a old Pentium/256MB RAM Think Pad?
Most software dependencies aren't a problem as I would be mostly using SSH
Tinycore Linux
Puppy Linux
Linux from scratch http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/
>>53872081
What's the learning curve on those? What is better about them than a debian based distro?
>Now, to be fair, that $1.4 million total may well include the purchase price of the physical iPads or perhaps the cost of getting the app to work on other, non-iPad devices. But still, the iPad app alone cost about $336,000, which is a really hefty price tag for big arrows.

meh... at least the product does what it says it's going to do. Better than the billions wasted on security scanner contracts for scanners that could never be used.
If there's one thing defense contractors are good at, it's cashing checks and keeping their mouths shut.
I'm sure the NSA spent more than that ensuring that all modern OS have a predictable sequence in their rand() functions.

What kind of projects are you guys working on?
None, ARM is a piece of shit.
that feel when you bought a brand new 1GHz Gateway PC in 1999 and now you have a 2.66GHz 4 core with 8 threads. And another 4 core as a server in the other room.
also, no more 56k. I get 5MB download speed now...
teenage me would bust a nut.
>>53871742
>Pi sells a 1Ghz computer for $5
Except that's wrong.
The Raspberry Pi Zero has the same 700mhz ARMv6 CPU that was in the original raspberry pi.
For comparison, a 233mhz Pentium MMX is faster (both int and fp) than that shitty 700mhz ARMv6
what's the advantage of compiling a custom kernel
Faster, smaller, lighter, configured how you want it to be.
>>53871334
You get to enable features that the stock kernel doesn't include or misconfigured.
Boy I'd compile her kernel if you know what I mean!
