Just installed XP on an old computer with 1 GB of ram
>Boots almost as fast from HDD as Windows 7/8/10 boots from SSD
>Windows update fast as fuck
>Everything loads instantly
>Uses barely 200 MB of ram
It just seems so... clean. How did Microsoft fuck up so badly? Does any Windows developer actually even understand what the fuck they are doing?
Install Gentoo for faster boottimes and less ram

What's the dress code for software engineering interviews? Can you get away with a polo or do you need to buy a suit...
I prefer to use jeans and a shirt with a tie and jacket

I usually wear a dress shirt and dress pants. Makes you look professional without wearing a suit and looking completely unfit for the job.
I usually just wear a simple dress, opaque tights, plain flats, minimal makeup, hair down and non-flashy earrings+necklace.

Welcome to /fg/lt/, or as I've recently taken to calling it, /fg+lt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot...

No k CPU but z97 board. You might want to fix that to save money by either going to a cheaper chipset or get a 4690k IR something. Also I wouldn't recommend getting a 970 right now with the next gen coming out in about 2 months. I would check local Craigslist or something and try to find a cheaper decent card.
>>53906256
thanks for your input anon
I've been gaming from a similar build. K CPU. It's pretty good. Nvidia cards work well with Linux drivers if you ever want to dual boot.
>For years, Google has had tools to test the lag in Android and Chrome OS devices, letting it know when bad hardware or sloppy software is causing delays in touch input or voice commands. Wish you could check that lag yourself? As of now, you can: Google has posted the source code for WALT, its latency timer. While you'll need to build some Arduino-based hardware to perform the tests, Google promises that the whole thing will cost you less than $50. You won't need to go all-out and recreate the company's TouchBot, then. True, this will mostly...
