Other than as a server, what are some things I can do with a second desktop?
Set it up to be a seedbox
Hook it up to a TV and install something like XBMC
Now you have a home theater server

I hooked up my old laptop with a mechanical keyboard to be a terminal
I never get sick of typing on it that way
It mostly stays connected to irc through tmux with my vpn
That way none of my applications can deanonymize me

Is there any Linux distro that is truly free?
They all either seem to be run by a Jewish company or depend on donations.

well few people eat and live for free so you're not going to find much where people do work for literally nothing
I am learning webdev technologies in my spare time.
I don't understand why so many people hate it.
I am currently using windows and everything run well with php and composer.
I made some database actions in mongodb with php and it works amazingly well.
I tried other technologies like nodejs and asp, but I had to install visual studio and python.
The result was terrible with hundreds warning errors and freezes.

Hey I just look at golang and it looks pretty great. For you is it better than php to build website.

If MIME was Multipurpose Electronic Mail Extensions then we would have had the first MEME invented decades ago
Think about that.
>>53821816
The word meme originated with Richard Dawkins' 1976 book The Selfish Gene. Dawkins's own position is somewhat ambiguous: he welcomed N. K. Humphrey's suggestion that "memes should be considered as living structures, not just metaphorically"[9] and proposed to regard memes as "physically residing in the brain".[10] Later, he argued that his original intentions, presumably before his approval of Humphrey's opinion, had been simpler.[11] At the New Directors' Showcase 2013...

well meme'd, but don't buy MSI boards, Asus/ASRock are the best choices, maybe even Gigabyte, but the dual BIOS is dodgy
Rest is alright, although if you're getting 850 EVO, might as well shave off another $30 and get SanDisk 256GB

Do you hate social media itself or the people on it?
think about it, we have facebook, twitter, tumblr, and more out there.
But what do you really hate? If this were 1999 when the internet wasn't well known and it required some knowledge to get on AOL, wouldn't you say, that it's mostly the users?
I think what is wrong with facebook is that you can't type in something in their search without some dumb shit teenager thinking it's cool to make a fan page of it and not dedicate some time during the week for it. Then you see about 200...

What are your thoughts on refurbishing laptops and then selling them for a profit.
What laptops specs do you think the average use would fine sufficient.
If you have refurbished any laptops ('Not desktops') what models have you done.
What OS did you use?
Windows
Linux
Non fuck you anon.
Did you use a legit windows COA to activate windows once you installed? Or did you get a key by other means.
Laptop refurbishing thread if you haven't guessed by now.
>>53820139
I had a client that ran a general hardware refurbishing business, but Im guessing most of their revenue came from selling refurbished notebooks.
They were the stingiest cunts I ever had to deal with. I'm guessing their margins were paper thin.
>>53820139
I do this a bit in my spare time, but it has never exceeded side project standards.
I typically work on the busted ex-enterprise laptops marked as for parts or not working on eBay, so ThinkPads, elitebooks, and dell latitudes and precisions.
Parts for these are usually cheap, and they're modular enough to the point where I still find enjoyment in tearing one down to get nice and familiar with it.
I've recently sold a latitude e6430, a ThinkPad X230 tablet, and a ThinkPad T430.
All in all, I netted $350ish for something I'd consider a hobby.
>>53822657
Some points I missed.
I typically use the COA found on these business machines, but on the off chance it's been removed or damaged, then Win7 goes on and all updates are completed leaving the buyer to upgrade to 10 if they want.
For daily use, most people would be set with a Core2Duo or newer. Be mindful of that new undervolted bullshit though.
What types of lube can be used to lube keyswitches? And can i make my own stickers?

Just buy it from the damn mechanical keyboard shops online... EK mechlube is fine. Stickers are just small thin foam I believe but that's a little too autistic for me to pay any attention to and I don't really like cherry style switches much.
/g/ I need help deciding. Should I spend the $1200 on a surface pro 4 with dock, or is the surface pro 3 for $639 decent enough to not spend the extra on the newer one?

The specs are nice but I'm not a fan of osx. Plus I'd rather have a tablet than a laptop, I already have a good laptop.
What is the verdict on these?
Harmful or not?
You're a fucking idiot
Very harmful. Do not, under any circumstances, get inside one.
The actual problem is we need to stir half way
