alright kids, how are we standing on the ASUS ROG GX700?
>An overclockable processor. Historically, gaming laptops typically don't let you overclock their components, but the ROG GX700 has a 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-6820HK, one of the first mobile CPUs that you can overclock. It also happens to be one of the latest Intel Skylake processors.

Great news everyone!
The Oculus Rift DK2 is officially unsupported on the recently released Oculus platfrom, ask someone that bought one; thinking "hey!? atleast I

What do you mean it's fucking unsupported
>>53883096
I ask myself the same question

Thank fuck for Vive
Hey /g/, I won a $25 Best Buy giftcard, and have no idea what to use it on. So, what should I buy? Alternatively, if you can convince me, I'll give it to one of you guys.
>>53883002
get some more and buy a chromecast
>>53883021
Not bad, but I already have one back home. I'm at uni right now and can just hook up my desktop to my TV easily, so I'm wondering if there's anything better.
come on /g/, this is basically free money for you neets

my mother has asked me to find a device for watching youtube on her living room tv, it's a dumb TV, has HDMIs
I know about the firestick, what other devices are out there that do this? any recommendations? do any give extra channels?
are there any really cheap ones from Chiyna?
>>53882926
Just get chromecast
>>53883062
I thought that was to throw your tablet screen onto a tv? I want a standalone unit that plays YT itself
The roku boxes are pretty cool. I used a first gen one for a long time.
Are helpdesk jobs really a dead end or is it easy to progress from them? I have a useless IT degree and literally zero work experience.
>>53882905
when jobhunting later, it shows you can deal with the worst of consumers. not much else.
>>53882905
Depends are you going for phone helpdesk or "I'm going to be the guy that fixes all your shit in the office" helpdesk?
>>53882953
Phone helpdesk. I have an interview in a few days and if I get the job will be starting immediately, but don't know whether to cancel the interview and look for something better.

IT'S HAPPENING
Heh, guess /g/ was right, it's Maxwell 3.0 with a HBM memory controller.
>>53883411
Honestly the TFLOP specs are underwhelming, the only thing mighty impressive is the huge die and 300W TDP
>>53883443
Oh yeah, and the astronomical clockspeeds.
No doubt a major contributor to said TDP.
>reading normies comments trying to explain end to end encryption regarding whatsapp latest update
And they don't even know due to whatsapp proprietary's nature it is unknown whether it is really end-to-end.
end to end encryption is a meme, anyone can break into your phone

You did this to yourself.

By that standard every security or privacy measure is a meme.
Hey, /g/
Do any of you guys ave experience with machine learning servers? I'm looking at setting one up using a tesla t80 for personal reasons, and i understand that most machine learning software (im probably going to use deep learning or something similar) but honestly if it doesn't need to be a 'server' to run well then i'll put the tesla in my desktop, but i feel like i'd run into some bottle necking, even if i dished out to get a server grade xeon and some ddr4.

>tldr; if i have the graphics accelerator i need, will i need to get a good CPU + everything else to run with it or is it unnecessary?
If you're going to to long jobs then you really should get ECC memory.
Will this GPU run W3 4k at 60+ fps?

Normiefag here, hoping /G can still amount to something

It's still proprietary, so no.

This, also it is called end to end encryption.

You still obsessing over that autistic bullshit?
Im a verizon wireless rep. Ask me anything about how we deal with customers, services, anything.
>>53882404
Why does verizon go above and beyond to make sure that all the flagship phones they offer have locked boot loaders?
>>53882474
They don't want "untested software" to be a problem. Really it;s that this is a company that is behind when it comes to how people use their phones nowadays. "When a bootloader is not encrypted, and users can unlock it, they are more likely to alter the system software and damage the phone." And if you arent forced to get all those verizon apps, then who will? :))
>>53882600
All of our flagships since the iphone 5S though *should* come carrier unlocked at least. Better than the other guys who sometimes make it nigh impossible to do so.

You sure it wasn't your parents? lol
Why do so many programmers in their 40s and 50s tell me that C is better than C++? Is it a nostalgia thing?
>>53882308
Because a machine (IDE) literally took their jobs (writing and rewriting redundant code that was replaced by libraries) and made them redundant.

It's called a computer, people in developed countries use them for all sorts of things like watching movies, doing office work, writing posts in this thing called the world wide web but that's a topic for another day.
