So I see a new version is available. Finally decide to try a BSD. Get this.
Tell me again about the reliability of BSD /g/
I really like BSD, because it's designed as a whole operating system, whereas, say, Linux distributions are evolving over time and stitched together, comprising of different software projects by different people with different philosophies.
As a long time Linux user, I must say it's rather alluring to go for a BSD system, because it's the better system in theory. Sadly, whatever is the best thing in practise most of the the time...
Bsd is for servers. Just like Linux is for toasters.

>using PC-BSD's website as a representation of *BSDs as a whole
It's just FreeBSD preconfigured for desktop use
>Nvidia bricks older cards so that you will buy their new ones
Is this meme real?
Maximum jew overload.
This type of shit should be illegal.
They had some problems with cold solder joints. I fixed 2 cards with the oven method.
Ye!
I created a program that takes conversation data from 4chan and picks a reply to whatever you say to it. Now I need original thought.
Any ideas of how to take a bunch of similar statements from the database and use language processing to create a new statement?
>>53885733
Markov chains. They're pretty simple to implement naively.
>>53886650
I'll look into it thanks
>>53886719
They're pretty nifty for making chat bots & generating test data, as well as far more useful things I'm too dumb to think of. You could probably do it as a multi-iteration neural network, seeing as a Markov chain is basically an N->N neural network where N is the number of unique samples.

But it's a swagway.
So, which editor should I use for C++. I'd like some auto-completion.
Couldn't get YCM to work properly on Vim, Microsoft Visual Code just doesn't werk on Linux properly. (have to do dotnet magic to get the C++ tools to work properly)
Eclipse is a pile of shit.
>>53885586
Atom with proper plugins or get YCM to work on Vim.
>>53885745
>YCM
I don't know man, whatever I try I can't get it to work. It either doesn't work at all, or it crashes with errors.
Went with Atom + autocomplete-clang + linter-clang. Pretty comfy thanks!
is anyone here using rhel now that is free of charge for development use?
installed some days ago, so far the worse distribution I've used:
got a kernel panic after installing in virtualbox,
can't install anything ootb without typing at least three subscription-manager commands with parameters like 20+ chars alphanumeric ID,
yum is so fucking slow and can't find anything because the standard repositories are missing a lot of packages,
old version of everything,
no ifconfig and systemdicked network interface names like adf9s0,
sshd with...

I've never used it, but I can tell you that ifconfig is almost definitely there, you have to type in the full path, so it's
/sbin/ifconfig

>hur dur, I'm too dumb to use a package manager

fucking retard.
>>53885516
I had to install the net-tools package, in the minimal default install only ip was available, I think they are deprecating it, at least in rhel 7.2
>>53885611
>hur dur, I'm too dumb to use a package manager
subscription-manager is not exactly a package manager, yum itself is not bad, only slow
>how to configure sshd?
do you even logic? if I can't configure sshd how could I detect...

Why do they fail half the time?
Why do the require to click 10 images instead of 2-3?
Do other people just reload as well when they see this shit?

Realistically do you really need more than a 32gb sd card if you only listen to lossy formats?
if you listen to 'a lot' of music then I'd put it at 64gb
You don't need any sd card just buy a 128 gig iphone
stream your music
Is this is a meme language?
>>53885328
no
meme tier:
ruby
go
node
corporate tier:
C#
Java
Academic science tier:
Python
R
Computer science tier:
C
C++
It's the best intro language desu.
It's also really to quickly test something out. I don't think it's for super serious work though.
Are they any good at all? They look like such a meme.
Who has one, will my art benefit? What else are they good for?

if you can't draw on paper, you can't draw with one of these, it works fine though
you seem really stupid, you ask the obvious from someone else who will just tell you what you already knew (if you aren't genuinely stupid)

My god you're such a faggot.
Yes they are very good and are a lot more natural and easy to use than it seems
Are computers a social construct?
What constitutes a computer? Are brains computers? Are calculators computers? Is an atticus a computer? Is a phone a computer?
Race and gender are social constructs, why not computers?

Why is Apple taking so long to announce and release the new macbooks?
>>53884844
Because they are tired from taking all those dicks in their asses.
>>53884859
Or they're too busy taking them all in. Nobody ever knows for sure, Apple is a secretive corporation.
>>53884844
Current gen is still selling goy
I bought a i5 5675C back in december.
I discovered that running anything that would use the VT-d functions would crash the entire computer.
I read about this online and apparently, this is a common problem for desktop Broadwell CPUs and high-end laptop ones.
Now, I can recall AMD being ripped to shreds after they released their bullshit Phenom first gen that had a TLB bug. Everybody got mad about this... and now Intel makes a CPU that is also deficient by design, and nobody cares? Why?
75% of the market share allows you to do silly things and get away with it.
