What has kevin mitnick contributed towards technology as a whole?
What is he viewed as? A faggot former "hacker" turned pro nsa or a cool old dude?
He made people aware that social engineering is the real "skeleton key" of hacking. I get the feeling a lot of the techniques he lists in his books still would work today most of the time.
>He cant whistle through his phone and start a nuclear war
>>53908786
That social engineering works and how to identify the weak link.

Just install a fresh copy of PCOS.
That is what you get for installing suspicious_activity.exe on your computer.
>>53908781
That's what you get for not using an ad blocker, it's kinda sad that these actually exist.
>Walk into pub
>HD TV
>Showing footage so old that you can even read the player's numbers
Why the fuck do they do this?
>>53908723
>that you can even read the player's numbers
Do you want a shitty TV there or what?
>HD TV.
>Hooked up to 480i cable/satellite/480i composite DVD player.

What encryption program should I use?

Make your own you dumbshit
>>53908669
Sure, roll your own. You will most likely fuck it up inadvertently and leave it woefully insecure.

When will this finally stop being a valid argument when picking a new phone? On /g/ of all places.
Both Google and Apple already realized how stupid it is to support this dated technology.
Why are you arguing with people over phones?
>>53908621
Never, unless unlimited 4g and cloud storage becomes free. Then maybe.
The real question is why wouldn't you want extra memory on-board, regardless of how slow it is?
When someone makes arguments against M-SD on phones I know they're a dipshit normie instantly and I give them the talk I'd give a small child who isn't yet privy to the ideas of the real world.
Note 4 here, 232gb storage suck my asshole lurk more noobfuck
I'm equally in need for more storage space and an additional monitor for a dual monitor setup.
But i only have only money atm for one thing what do you guys recommend is a better upgrade to invest in first ?
>>53908595
Storage.
>>53908595
Honestly dude, thats your call, unless you provide more info, i can't tell what you're going to need first. like if you're a video editor, storage > monitor , if your a sysadmin or something monitor > storage
>>53908718
I do video editing as a hobby and play vidya
Sup /g/uys. Need some assistance here. What VM hosting software would you guys recommend that I use for hosting a Tails VM for maximum security?
>inb4 fucking google it
Can we really trust anyone anymore?
>>53908561
What makes you think a bunch of autistic neckbeards are more trustworthy than Google?
>>53908561
For maximum security you shouldn't run it in a VM
>>53908722
Honestly baremetal would be the most secure. Tails attempts to write over used ram when ejected but really can't do that effectively if in a VM.
Would you use a laptop that was ascetically ugly to you, and carry it around if it had pretty good specs at a good price? Pic related, or any "gaming laptop" or anything with a weird design like 2-1, bulky laptops, or anything like that.

If it was free yes, but i would rather have my t420 and a mid range desktop. I could always vinyl wrap the laptop anyways.
so I just got a steam controller on the cheap
why is there so much hate for this thing?
navigating my machine with it is pretty fucking comfy and it works reasonably well in shit like the Witcher 3
only complaint is wasn't it supposed to be super customizable
Pls respond

I know the very basics of c python java and javascript, what/ where should I do/go from here.
also if you have a line of code that does something funny/cool post that too
Practice all day, every day. Make something a little beyond your current abilities, then make something harder. Do this over and over again. I'd start with Python, but it really depends on what you want to make.
Also, Lua and Love2D are fantastic for making video games if that's your jam.
>>53908514
Do an online course. There's loads of them.
Not codecademy, though.
Think of something you want to program, then program it.
Never seen this specific thread before probably because not a lot of people care. Only thing i pretty much see is thinkpad general or people specifically asking for laptops that cost a specified number of euros or us-dollars so decided to make a general post.

mfw I found out my tv has a 3.5mm audio output jack
welcome to like 1960 or some shit, man
Daily reminder that 3.5mm audio jacks are why TVs are that thick.

Razer has had a pretty shitty track record so far especially with their shitty overpriced "gaming" mice. However the naga epic chroma is the best mmo mouse I have ever used. Its the first mouse from them that I believe is fully worth the price. Feels greats easy to use configs and even a wireless mode for plebs. Whar do you guys think about it?
Thanks for sharing the news about the MMO Gaming Mouse Gaming Peripheral on /g/ :-) I'll be sure to check it out!
There was this device on the other side of the mouse, it has at least 101 keys. You can actually re-bind these keys if one game puts them in a stupid place. Also recommend changing the WASD layout to ESDF or TFGH, that way you have even more keys to your left so that you can get to them as quick as possible and disrupting your movement the least amount.

Only using a keyboard works fine if you are a filthy casual. Are you a filthy casual anon?
Does hiding your SSID do anything to secure the network or is it just a meme?
>>53908370
i think all it does is not broadcasting the SSID of the network, still the signal can be seen.
this is just an assumption of someone who doesn't know much shit about wlan.
It might keep you off of a passive hackers radar so technically it is a little more secure but really no. please stop saying meme
>>53908423
You felled for the memes aren't memes meme.
