weird russian guy
what an interesting dynamic
This is a thread for topics that don't deserve their own thread.
I'll start:
Is an AMD r9 390 better than a GTX 970, and is the performance difference noticable?
I'm not sure this question is really /g/-related but here goes:
What is the best service to queue video uploads to YouTube? If I have let's say 7 videos that I want uploaded at noon every day for a week automatically. Is there even such app?
>>54201552
390 is better on paper and universally considered more future-proof, that said, currently the diference in performance is marginal and varies by game
>>54201552
1080 - 970 memeory is real at higher scaling. also if buying new allows mini ITX or cheaper cooling meaning extra dough for ram or SSD.
1440 - 390, while 8GB is mostly meme, some games it is useful and if its a game you like and play regularly it doesn't matter if its muh 0.5% of games if its 50% of your gaming time. also doesnt really have much performance difference.

My first computer was a CPC464 with monochrome screen.
The day the office got a colour screen it blew my fucking mind.

First for autism
Any strap suggestions for this? Really not sure what to go with. Came with brown faux croc leather but I both dislike brown and croc.
I've tried black suede and a perlon but neither of them look great imo.

Not autistic enough.
Microsoft's smartphone sales have plunged again: the company has revealed it only managed to sell 2.3 million Lumia smartphones in its third quarter -- down from 4.5 million in Q2 and down from 8.6 million in the same quarter a year ago (to put that in context, Apple sold 75 million iPhones according to its last quarterly results).
The decline isn't a huge surprise: Lumia sales have been sliding for some time now and Microsoft had already warned that the decline would continue this quarter -- not a very good return on the $5.4bn Microsoft spent just two years...

No apps
Lack of polish
Reinventing the OS every two years instead of refining it
Did I mention no apps?
I really wanted to live WP but it let me down big time.
>>54194454
Yeah I'm thinking about jumping ship to Android because my phone is over a year old and the model is more than 2 years old.
The only reason I bought a WP was the low price. The lack of apps really sucks. Everything else seems normal, but the lack of apps is crippling since the whole point of a smartphone is to run apps.
I've been wanting to try a Windows phone for a while, are they really as shitty as everyone says they are.
Why don't Amerifats earth their plugs? Do they want their homes to burn down?
>>54181975
I've never been to the U.S. and also don't know the reason that the ground is there: the post.
They don't really care, their houses are made out of plaster and are built on shitty foundations, electricity protection is the least of their worries.
simple, there is no earth in america
>literally every Android player is shit
>Android users literally have to use the music player that they feel is the least shit
Which of the shitty Android music players did you settle for, /g/?
Answer this poll so we can figure this out once and for all. (Yes, high security has been enabled so you fuckers can't cheat)

Your stupid fucking captcha isn't letting me submit.
But Poweramp is obviously the best, I don't know why anyone would use any other player.
GPM has the best interface (all the other material players are amateurish and janky) but it's laggy shit that needs to be rewritten.
Honestly there are no genuinely good music players on Android, just different levels of shit. I miss Music.app.
What's wrong with Google play music? Doesn't it allow you to add your own music? I pay for all my stuff (no bot net tier stuff on this guy's devices)
i am a windows user and i don't see all the fanfare behind linux and its many flavors. what merits does it have over windows? or is it just overhyped because its a coders paradise? i am interested in trying it btw.

Any specifics? recommended distros for newbs?
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU

Isn't Python comfy?
How do you write this in your favorite language?
My favourite language right now is a pass between Java and Python.
let find_file dir predicate =
let rec find dir =
let children = Sys.readdir dir in
let lim = Array.length children in
let rec loop i =
if i = lim then
None
else
let child = children.(i) in
if predicate child then
Some child
else if Sys.is_directory child then
match find (Filename.concat dir child) with
| None -> loop (succ i)
| Some _ as file -> file
else
loop (succ i) in
loop...
