Hey /g/
I plan on switching over to Linux soon because of how terrible Microsoft is at the moment, I know a bit of basic Linux stuff but I'm no expert, I want to use Arch because I like the whole DIY thing and customizing stuff but I kinda feel like I might screw up, should I get more familiar with Linux before getting Arch?
>>54217411
Depends on what you know. Worst case scenario: have another boot disk on hand with something easier if you find yourself overwhelmed. There's nothing wrong with easing yourself into Linux.

Any good repos for dogdgy shit. ie, sending sms 0's or other interesting stuff such as blocking wifi etc
what is "sending sms 0's"

Is it 2008 again? kek

Why do none of you fags use Solaris? It's actual UNIX and it's mostly open source, especially Solaris 10.
>>54215009
>mostly open source
Therein lies the problem.
I use OpenIndiana on one of my servers.
>>54215026
Yeah but most of these fags install proprietary shit on Linux so I don't see the difference.

With Windows 10 confirmed for being a spyware service, is OSX the only sane operating system for normal folks?
>Pros
-Adobe suits are supported
-Many CAD tools are supported
-Printer drivers are not an issue anymore
-Official support for Office 2010/2007
-Actually can disable default spyware features (more than the latest windows service)
-Can install any OS on the hardware
>Cons
-Ridiculous hardware price
-OS is uncustomizable
-Probably has hidden backdoors (contrary to Windows...

It's sad that I share a technology board with people who are so tech illiterate that they don't know how to install a Windows program that blocks spying.

>-Ridiculous hardware price
Not true.
>-OS is uncustomizable
ricer shit.
>-Probably has hidden backdoors (contrary to Windows 10, the backdoor OS)
Unless you go GNU/Freetard you'll never really know.
It's reasonably possible to switch to rinucks for a large variety of needs
>printer drivers
Printers have always been shit, fortunately there is a list of printers known to work with rinucks.
>Office 2010/2007
The only thing that's really missing from rinucks is Excel, and they also don't really have anything that compares to OneNote.
>CAD tools
Rinucks is definitely shit for CAD, but Autodesk Maya is known to work on "boutique" distributions...

K6000 pro or redmi 3?
K6000 pro has bigger battery, but also 1080p display which should drain battery a little faster.
Main focus is battery life with decent performance

Work.
Kill myself.
I'd get in to another hobby where I buy things that depreciate quickly. Like cars.

Daily reminder that if the price is free, you are the product.
gentle reminder that if you need to be reminded, you're a tool.

That only applies to Gratis Proprietary software.
Free as in Freedom software does not make you the product.

In a few months, Microsoft® Edge™ will finally get webm support, extensions, paste and go and more.
So, /g/, why aren't you using the best web browser on the market that's neither a botnet not a blosty, RAM-eating POS?
-Posted from my Microsoft® Surface™ Book via Microsoft® Edge™.
since windows 10 launch i've been interested in edge. i actually like it.
once they add extension support for things like ublock origin and webm i will give it a go.

The description of every microsoft product ever. This is post-worthy how & why?
Why are intel CPUs so fucking expensive compared to AMD? $250 for a fucking i5? Why not leave it at $170 or some shit like that. I really don't want to buy an i3 either. My budget is 180 for a new CPU.
>>54209643
Intel cpus cost more because of a combination of Jews and better chips. Go get amd if you wanna be a poor fag about it.
Because that's how much they're worth...

Here's the difference:
Ubuntu user:
>I run Linux on my computer.
Arch user:
>I run Arch on my computer
The real difference seems to be that Arch users inexplicably think they have a deeper understanding of computers by virtue of entering the same commands to download and install repos in the terminal.
Command line busy work is not a skill-set: Everyone else just wonders why they're wasting time on it.
Makes way more sense to just take an existing, fleshed out distro like Xubuntu and then purge the 20% that you don't want, instead of installing Arch and manually installing the 80% that you need.
>>54205461
I purge more than 20% from Ubuntu.
However, a clean install of Debian is great

Someone please interject.
Why do Indians like object oriented programming and other memes like XML and UML so much?
>>54202846
Because it's buzzword soup and the more buzzwords a meme encompasses the more one can hide inside the bullshit.
Ever interviewed an Indian? 100% of the time they machine-gun spray you with buzzwords and marketing lines for every answer, hoping they'll hit the target like an inexperienced shotgun shooter.
Every question is a barn and every answer is 1000s of buzzword shotgun pellets, hoping to hit enough of the target to make you think they know something when they definitely know nothing.
