On a scale from 1 to 10, how important is it to have a solid understanding of theoretical computer science and mathematics?
Depends whose askin

I had that issue a few weeks ago, turns out it was because Windows update was fucking up and constantly stressing my system accessing the Windows Update server for some insane reason, it stopped when I actually updated shit (making sure to avoid those pesky Win10 updates).

That's pretty neat OP, but I feel like the noise lost isn't that much

Who cares when Nocturas exist. Hands down best fans on market.

Hello, I'm looking to buy a pc. i'll be using it for the newest games and some rendering, i dont have any relevant parts from older pcs. I have the money to buy something brand new (2000euro+) but can't justify the purchase when i see ppl selling i7's and 970's for 500-550 yurops. I see ppl making decent to great builds with second hand parts. My question is, how fucked will i get if i buy SH and do you reccomend it.
If it's from a trusted seller.
Of course
I'd buy second hand monitors, cases, and there are some bargains for GPUs going so its worth it,. Everything else you're better off buying new.
>>55522875
>970's for 500-550 yurops
You what? You know you can get a brand new aftermarket 1070 for that, right?
In this thread post legal but disgusting business practices by tech companies
>release $1300 laptop with no ports
>charge $80 for separate adapter
>release updated and more expensive Macbook "Pro" Retina
>remove Ethernet and USB ports requiring extra expense of adapters to have the same functionality
>We realize times are changing and people need more storage because they're using their phones to store more and take progressively higher quality photos and videos so we'll be updating from 16gb, 32gb and 64gb options to 16gb, 64gb and 128gb options for $650, $750 and $850 respectively
of course it's all apple shit. no company hates their customers quite like the genuises at infinite loop.
My hard drive apparently sucks ass and i can barely run anything above 30 fps. I don't care if it takes 7 years to boot up my pc or other shit that's on my hard drive right now, but if I get an SSD can I just transfer all my games on there with no problem? From this pic it seems as if my hard drive is the only thing shitting the bed right now.

Firefox Nightly supports coloured emoticons c:
>>55522455
Only normies use emoticons.
I don't care what people say about the SJWs at Mozilla, they aren't THAT gay about things and they make some pretty good software.
>>55522455
what do you guys use for email on your macbooks? apps or web interfaces? I have more emails to monitor these days and I've been thinking of consolidating them into one place.
>>55522440
just mail.app
ThunderSJW is unstable and resource hog
>>55522440
OSX Mail app werks, but I remember it being a pain in the toushie for me to config properly.
Once it is set up though, it does everything I want it to do.

Get out.
Why do normies hate Loonix so much?
Desktop is literally the last user base using le windose. Android rules mobile, Linux rules servers.
>inb4 android is linux too
Discuss.
They don't hate it because they don't even know what it is.

>>55522418
This. I've never met a normie that had an opinion on Linux. Some of them recognize the name, but almost none of them can tell you what it is.
Do I need to partition my HD?
>>55522353
yes
>>55522353
Yes.
Windows 30-40GB
Second partition for programs
Third to store shit etc.

Does DOOM support asynchronous compute when running on the Vulkan API?
Asynchronous compute is a feature that provides additional performance gains on top of the baseline id Tech 6 Vulkan feature set. Currently asynchronous compute is only supported on AMD GPUs and requires DOOM Vulkan supported drivers to run. We are working with NVIDIA to enable asynchronous compute in Vulkan on NVIDIA GPUs. We hope to have an update soon. Click here for additional information on asynchronous compute.

So I'm going to be moving into a van soon because I don't feel like paying rent and wasting money on what could be equity...
It'd be nice if I could 'borrow' WiFi when I park my van, but I have pretty much no knowledge on how to access a protected network. Can someone tell me what to read/how to do it/where to start?
