Just bought a new house and need to decide a ISP. Who do you recommend? I will be torrenting 24/7.
>>55527363
I have Cox and it's pretty good
>>55527404
What are you paying?
What are your speeds?
Do they care if you torrent?
>>55527363
Oh, you mean an American house?

Hi /g/
Got a question if there is any audiophiles in here.
I have 2 x KRK Rokit RP6 G3 Monitor Speakers.
I have them plugged into a http://uk.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-audigy-rx using a 3.5mm jack to RCA.
There is static coming through them and i was wondering if there is any possible solutions to eliminate this static. I don't know much about audio but maybe a DAC could help and i get rid of my soundcard? I don't know.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Don't turn up the gain on the speakers too much.
See that you turn up both the master and application volume on the pc.
>>55527172
Speakers are on -30Db and use computer to control the volume most of the time
>>55527210
Hook them up to another source, a stand alone dvd/cd player maybe, and check the noise again?
/g/ related. Worth a watch.
That movie sucked. Had to watch it in film class.
Bunch of chodes.
Everyone and his dog knows this movie, unless you're 16

What is the 'ThinkPad' of tablets?
Pic semi-related; it's an actual ThinkPad tablet PC.
Do you mean real tablets?
If so, Surface Pro

why you hating on the x61t?
I bought an rtl-sdr a few weeks ago and set up an ADS-B receiver to track aircraft in my area. I'm using the stock antenna I got with it, and with that I'm able to track aircraft over 150 miles away.
I'm using dump1090-mutability and virtual radar server to do this.
Also, general radio thread.
>>55526800
But have you used it to receive SSTV from the ISS?
>>55527000
Wait they do this? I'll have to give it a try sometime once I build myself a better antenna.

any tips on how on how to keep programming/learning more? I want to keep programming and getting better and better but I feel like I've reached a cap and with nothing to do it's just boring. Any ideas? I can program in Java (android), C# and Javascript.
learn how to optimize your code. Example: Where would you initializing a variable for use inside a loop? Outside vs Inside make a difference.
Example: Processing from a text file. Do you read one line at a time, processing as you go or do you read the whole file into a buffer and process on the whole thing?
Lots to think about for optimization.

Fortran is the only language I know.
My iPhone 4S has reached critical mass.
It's battery runs out in 5h while idling or 30 minutes of continuous use.
Apple also uses 4.4 GB of my 5.1 GB memory, leaving me a total of exciting 700 mb to work with. This makes me have only absolutely necessary-to-survive apps which sucks. Fun fact: I just had to uninstall Google Maps to make room for Whatsapp temporary files.

Isn't the Moto G4 better than any LG G and for pretty much the same price?

Which operating system should I dual boot with macOS? I tried RemixOS but the WiFi didn't work and there was no fix so it didn't work.
Linux? Windows? What should I boot?
Why are you asking /g/, pick the one you like best
>>55526672
I've only ever used Windows and OSX and I don't want to get Windows if I have it on my desktop.

what was before the pedophile scandal?
Hey /g/ I am upgrading an old PC that I have laying around so that I can use it with my TV.
I was thinking of a simpler OS than Windows, or something more TV friendly. The consoles have a cool YouTube app and I would love to have something similar on PC.
>inb4 Kodi
I think it's fucking shit, so I rather use something else.
Also are there any HDMI sound cards? Or would I be better off getting a cheap video card with HDMI?
>>55526523
>inb4 Kodi
Plex?
>>55526543
Does it still allow me to torrent shit and use a web browser?
>>55526523
>I was thinking of a simpler OS than Windows, or something more TV friendly
OpenElec (though it uses Kodi) or your favorite GNU/Linux distro with whatever you want on top.
>>55526566
Plex is a media center, not an OS.
What's your favourite functional programming language? Why?
I want to join the functional masterrace but I don't know where to start.

Why is there so much tech nowadays without a removable battery?
Is the size really more imporant than the lifespan of the device?
Consumerism + planned obsolescence.
Once the battery dies, another new, "better" product has already replaced it and you like the dumb consumer you are must buy it.
>>55526381
The number of people who hot swap batteries, and keep the same device 5+ years is tiny. eMMC has a finite lifespan, and it will start significantly degrading by the time the battery is dwindling as well, the same is likely true of the display panel. If you wanted a fully featured high end mobile device to last a decade it would be too expensive, and you'd be complaining about the price instead of the specs then.
A user friendly replaceable battery is something only autists make a big deal over. You retards...

>>55526514
So what you are basically saying is that mobile devices made in the last 5+ years are all garbage?
You have one deca-unit of a quarter of one miliampere second to tell me why should I or why should I not buy this phone?
You shouldn't. Why?
>Sony
You should not buy this phone unless its price is more than 1/3rd of your monthly wage.
>>55526379
it's all the same crap, produced in the same factories, by the same workers so it doesn't matter what you buy
