Hello /g/
Are engineering sample CPUs generally OCable.
I could not find a concret answer to this.
Only some forum entries by people that could do so with theirs.
Yes, but they are engie samples for a reason. It would probably be unstable, or not if you are lucky. I wouldn't recommend using a sample anyways, OC'ed or not

AMD fag? I'm just advocating for engie samples. Intel or AMD they are samples for a reason
I gave it a fair and honest go for the past couple days. I really tried to get into it. It really isn't that bad once you get used to it, but the bugs... holy FUCK THE BUGS!! It's mostly the fact that it doesn't update shit in menus unless you logout and log back in. As far as installing shit, it reminds me of WinXP in that regard. However, when shit like your internet connections don't show up in the menu because of this, it's just fucking unbearable. Not to mention the fact that Unity has fewer settings to use than every other DE except for maybe GNOME3....

Xubuntu is pretty unstable as well at the moment. Install latest 14.04 or 15.10 and wait for a 16.04.1.
For instance suspending my laptop causes mouse pointer to disappear on wake up. I have to do ctrl+shift+f1, ctrl+shift+f7 to get it back every single fucking time.
Bug is already reported and unassigned since release, because who the fuck cares right?
>>54308246
Not really an issue for me because I don't suspend, but thanks for the heads up. Anything else you come across I should know?
>>54308246
>>54308271
You know what, I think I'll just skip right to Lubuntu I guess. From the last time I saw it had the shortest list of bugs and this current release was centered on just fixing existing bugs.
I don't use one because it's not 1998 any more.

3. Is it better/as good as freenet?
It uses bitcoin so it's doomed to fail.

Most custom roms and/or kernels have a repo. If you're so paranoid read and compile the code yourself
>>54308059
The source code is available on GitHub but I don't know anything about programming, it's 100% gibberish to me.
All I wanted to do was block ads ;_;
But ads are a small price to pay for data security and peace of mind. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.
all of them made by loos.

Is it worth upgrading from i5 3470 to i7 2600?

I want to slap people with my dick sometimes and I feel ashamed about it.
This one time, I slapped my mom. She was okay with it.
My dad didn't approve though. So I slapped him.
I want an honest, educated answer to this question:
Is it possible that one day in the future all (or a large majority) of Steam games will be compatible with Linux operating systems, like Ubuntu? Because if this was so, I would stop using Windows entirely. Ubuntu is super fun, and im going to install it on my college laptop very soon. But I really wish I could use it as my main OS on my desktop. The only thing that is holding me back from doing it is vidya.
It entirely depends on the developers.
If it takes time / effort to make it work on linux as well, people are not doing it.
But if it is easier to use an engine that works on all platforms, then there is no reason to not release it for linux.
They know that it will make them more money and more media coverage if they do it (at least in the beginning)

I wish someone would get on that
>>54307984
it is already a thing. I don't know if it is usable or not, I don't do game development
Would it be a good idea to buy an Sli bridge and two Nvidia gtx (900 series) GPU's for gaming ?
Let's say you want to play the Latest games on the highest settings, without fps issues.

Guys I've got a couple of PC's to set up in the office and I was wondering what is the best free antivirus that i don't really have to bug around with.
Until last month we used kaspersky but the jews up told me they can't afford such a software anymore, and that i should come up wit ha great free solution since there are a lot of free antivirus softwares out there.
I tried convience them but it was pointless.
Free antivirus thread?

this one?
Run an MBAM free scan every day, encrypt data on a NAS and enforce a good group policy, you won't get malware.
Block downloads without an admin password, make everyone use Chrome (I know it's botnet af, but their sandboxing is better). Install Ublock origin, No-Script, HTTPS everywhere and make sure that your data backs up offsite. No worries, you won't need any AV
Avast
Run it in gaming mode and you'll forget it's there

Brainlet detected. Don't be too sad that you're in the 2 digit club. We need people like you to do the easy but tedious jobs nobody else wants. Like cleaning toilets, working at McDonald's or coding in Java.

How fanatical are MSI fans?
My good buddy of mine is quite the fanboy. MSI is a brand he will stick to every time he buys new PC hardware.
Are MSI hardware really as good as people make them out to be?
>>54307060
Its like with thinkpads you can get a good second hand machine for silly money . however most of the time its very much like alien fanboys . mah brand may logo

So, its not cheap crap then? I have owned a few products from them and it seems like it, yet nothing I have bought from them has stopped working so far even thought the parts feel and look like cheap chink shit.
