wich linux distro is the best for gaming? are there performance differences?

Ubuntu is probably the easiest to run a Windows VM on so I'd use that.
Are they too good to be true? How come they are so cheap with good specs. Any brand recommendations or are they in reality just over hyped memes?
>just over hyped memes
Pick one
They are great, just bad build quality. You get big bezels bad stands. Still using my yamakasi as a 2nd monitor

Should I go for some actual Korean brands like LG or Samsung? Every panel I saw in person is great but they push $200 to $300 for decent ones and get really expensive really fast
How do we fix Python?
>>54312836
By keeping Python 2 alive past 2020.
Tabs.
>>54312836
Simplify the built-in types. Python has lists, dicts, objects, modules, classes, sets, and more. Lua has the table type, which does all those duties gracefully and elegantly, and usually with better performance.
Hey guys,
My mom is thinking about working from home and needs a new computer. Any ideas of a simple reliable desktop that can support duel monitors? We're thinking about spending in and around 400 usd. Any input is appreciated thanks!

How do I get over my intense rage / jealously / hate for this this person and every terrible thing he's done all while making billions? The shit he does, its like hes personally trying to fuck me over, but doesn't even know I exist. This bothers me a lot. Just looking at his face makes me feel uncomfortable, inadequate, and a little nauseous. And you can never beat him, there is no winning, you literally have to be Bill Gates or something to be as successful as him. He is probably the antichrist. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

are you from wikipedia?
Hey /g/, I'm currently in a computer science I class at my college and I'm doing some studying.
We are using C++.
I have some questions while I prep for my final.
>sequential sort
What is the best algorithm (most simple/efficient) way to implement a sequential sort function for a dynamic array?
I'm having trouble with this. My textbook has examples of a sort function written which calls the use of another function to first find the index of the smallest value. I feel like this is kind of convoluted and that there...

dynamic array as in?

If you mean a linked list, then it depends on how many elements you have. For very small lists, bubble sort is fine. For large sets of data, you really don't want to be using sequential sorting algorithms, but between bubble sort, insertion sort, and selection sort, I'd argue that selection sort is probably the most efficient.
Hey there folks, I'm trying to set up and APRS IGate on an Ubuntu machine.
I'm currently using this antenna: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1497?gclid=CJnEo-irt8wCFQeraQodmk4OXA
with this dongle: http://store.linksprite.com/rtl-sdr-fm-dab-usb-dvb-t-dongle-hd-dvb-t-rtl2832u-r820t/?gclid=CI3sofurt8wCFQqoaQodZ6gJSA
Anyone had any experience with this before?
So happy to see a thread other about interesting technology other than consumer electronics.
What you want to do is run a program called Xastir. It will act as an igate. Then pipe the rtl-sdr output into Xastir.

This thread MAY not belong on here, but it was the closest board I can think to ask:
What is with all the webms I'm seeing around 4chan named in the style, "Adjective][Adjective][Animal]?" Is this an automated program? Is it something 4chan itself does? Is it one person kicking out hundreds of webms that has an esoteric naming scheme?
What is going on.
>>54311941
gfycat is a site to upload webms/gifs and it gives these randomly generates filenames as such. So when someone saves the webm it will have that generated filename.
it's a gfycat.com thing.
It's an easy-to-remember way of giving each page a unique URL. Imgur uses a 7-digit code made up of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and the numbers 0-9, for a total of 62 different characters. Calculating that (627) gives us about 3.5 trillion different combinations. However, a code like that is hard to remember and annoying to type.
Gfycat uses a three word code. With three words, all you need is about 15,000 words to get the same amount of unique combinations as imgur's system. That sounds like a lot, but there's...

Hello everyone, I've been having problems with my PC Laptop (it's a ROG GL552VW) and I've talked to NVIDIA support and they said if I still had my particular problems that I should update my BIOS. How do I do that exactly? Because no way I'm going to wait for ASUS's shitty tech support. http://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-GL552VW/HelpDesk_Download/ I'm assuming I have to download this newest one and then I have to like shut down my computer while holding f2 and something pops up? I've been a mac user and I got this laptop 4 months...

Hey /g/, I want to build my first computer paid for entirely with my own money that I earned myself. With this being said, I don't want to skimp out or gimp myself on shitty parts because I want this machine to be able to last me for several years before needing parts replacement or repairs. This is what I've got so far:
>Case
either the Corsair 750 Airflow edition or the Fractal Design define R4. I don't want people to see my computer and immediately know I'm a bydiogaymer, and I like the sleek, minimalist designs...

>CPU Cooler
I've heard from multiple people that the Cooler Master Hyper 212 was good, so that was what I planned to get.
>GPU
I don't have anything planned for this yet, I haven't really been keeping up with who has the best stuff on the market right now. I haven't needed to purchase a new GPU for the past 4 years, and what I ended up getting was an EVGA GTX660. It's been a damn good card, but I feel like it's getting a little long in the tooth, and I wouldn't mind buying...

What is your budget?
Get a 250 GB 850 Pro or at least 250 GB. If you need to save the Crucial drives will also do it (TLC!).
If you still have that 960 you could get a 1060 or 1060Ti, it will max out everything then.
Also I wouldn't recommend Skylake as it is a waste of money. Used 2-3000 Intels are currently the best deal. Better invest the saved money in a proper board and SSD, PSU if needed (Nothing that doesn't have a 80+ logo).
I don't have a budget. I'm not going to spend a retarded amount on parts, though
