I need a new, private, and reliable e-mail provider. I dislike tendencies that lead toward mass-integration. It has to be simple and good.
I know /g/, and /g/ knows these things
I got banned from my previous one (openmailbox), and I got banned for the most arbitary outbranching imaginable (the slightest of slights aimed at a bad person).
Thank You

>>54393832
The only client that works without causing a bsod is azureus
I have always used VirtualBox and never thought about other software for the same task. Just installed VMware and HOLY FUCK it's superior in every aspect.
Any other software that is clearly superior to its "popular" counterpart?
VMware Workstation 12 Pro key:

Thanks Pajeet! 10 rupees have been deposted to your western union account
>>54393811
Well, time to try kvm then.
I use linux as my kernel
systemd as my init system
qt kde and x.org for GUI
llvm for compiling
and RMS still wants me to call my system GNU/Linux?
Do tell, anon. What do you use for your coreutils?
>>54393691
systemd only compiles with glibc which is part of GNU
>>54394297
This and the linux kernel only compiles with gcc as far as I found out.
and most distros use glibc vs any other libc
and most distros use the GNU userland utilities
but its still retarded, we should be calling it the GNU OS because we don't call
OS X Darwin or Windows NT; at least not anymore.
How can I run Linux off of a flash drive without killing it with constant writes? Is there a distro that's made with this in mind?
Goddamn it /g/ pull yourself away from your anime wallpaper generals for a second
Holy shit, it's on every distro's wiki ever. kys
there's a bunch of things you can do, such as setting a large commit value on its filesystem mounts (specifies a max amount of time writes can be buffered in cache)
>no edc thread on /g/
What fresh heresy is this?
>>54393621
Either /k/ or /fa/.
>>54393664
We've had edc threads on /g/ for ages, newfriend.
Not that I'm a fan since it's always the same shit (muh minimalistic (no fun) wallet, special import phone, guns/knives, fedora, etc.).
>>54393664
ARE YOU FROM FUCKING REDDIT!!? FUCKING END YOURSELF!
Can /g/ rate my build? I want to play actual games at 4K with everything on max.

What do you use to backup your Windows?
I prefer Veeam Endpoint Backup
>Image-based
>Entire PC
>Forever Incremental Backups

>Easy to use
>Free
CDs
Google Drive or Dropbox only :3
>>54393396
no need to backup whole windows, xcopy

>keygen = malware
>>54393229
There actually have been instances of keygens installing malware on PCs next to providing a keycode.
>download legit trial from developer website
>download keygen and run in a VM
>activate with key from VM
>???
>profit
>>54393250
Of course there is but proper keygens released by the scene doesn't have malware.
Since I first got my S5, I've installed CM on it because I cannot fucking stand Samsung's stock rom. That was two years ago. They've pushed their Marshmallow OTA for the S5, is it any good? I think I'm willing to give Samsung another try if it isn't full of bloatware.
It still has bloatware but it's much better than before, it also looks sexy af

I bet you stole it.

what /g/ think about flat file db meme?
https://github.com/ahadb/flat-file-cms
I have never used an actual db in my life.
I always just query vectors like this
Simplicity
Speed
Security
Version Control
Maintenance
Portability
Less expense (server)
Fullblown databases are unnecessary for most data storage needs, and for most processes that create data that needs to be stored, it's easier to make flat files.
That said it's usually pretty easy to know ahead of time when you're going to need to make complex queries and a full db is necessary
Good morning /g/entoomen. I'm looking for something... particular.
In a conversation with some friends, the idea of a penis-based Linux distro came up. Does such a thing exist, and if so, where can I get it? Pic unrelated
What do you mean by "penis-based?"
DUDE WEED LMAO
>>54394501
Like it runs on a raspberry pi zero attached to your dick and you control everything by waving your dick around.
hello /g/, is OnePlus X a good choice for a budget phone? I fucking love the design. Don't want to spend more than 250€, anyone have it? Care to share?
>>54392623
It's fucking amazing. Buy it!
>>54392623
if you don't mind bad battery life, average camera, old SoC and no LTE (if you are in USA, don't know about EU)
>>54392623
As someone who has one, I love it. If you get it i advise that you get a decent case because this thing is fucking slippery. Also the battery life isnt that bad.
