Is 16 gigs enough for a light user applefags?
I love anime threads.
You can't use it as a flash drive, so I don't think it would matter too much.

CHEAP HARDWARE FOR ME
YES
Been eyeing off depreciated hardware to save shekels
Fuck yeah
Hi /g/, I don't much about alienware laptops. I saw a 2013 alienware laptop at a local rent store. Are they ok for games like dota and l4d.
fuck off
Yes.
>>54417394
>fuck off
Well that fine and all, but dead serious question.
I know about the ASUS republic of gamers, msi, and Acer ones but not the Alienware ones.
About to install Funtoo on my old desktop machine. Quad-core Xeon @ 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM. Any advice? Looks pretty easy from reading over the wiki on installation.
Yes, I have some advice: install gentoo.
I always thought Funtoo was just a fun way to refer to Gentoo

Why one over the other?
Didn't know where else to post this, but I need some help with a project.
I want to use some momentary buttons as media control buttons for my computer. As in, press that button to skip song/play/pause/etc., with at least 2 of these buttons.
I also have some kind of potentiometer that I got from the volume wheel of my old keyboard.
Any way I can do this for USB without a microcontroller or old keyboard?
I do not have
>>54417312
What I forgot to write is that I want to use that potentiometer as a volume control again, but for USB.
Also, I apparently forgot to finish my post: I do not have an old keyboard that I could use.
Not without something like a mini-pac
>>54418183
P much this.
You can't do anything with mini-pac unless you want to use a USB game controller and then use a program like xpadder or DS4-input to emulate keyboard functions.
Look up the Mix-table controller made with Sanwa OBSF buttons. You're bound to find something about the PCB used, if you search hard enough.
Also recommend using the transluscent Seimitsu buttons to label the input functions. You can print out the Play/Pause/FW/RW symbols, cut them out and put them under the casing of the buttons.
Nvidia won.
Get fucked, AMDfags.
AMD is finished and bankrupt.

don't you have to install the latest fast track Insider build?
I tried installing the fast track build on my ThinkPad and it hosed the whole thing. I'll just wait until July. Not like I'm pining to start using Edge.

So someone is selling a 2015 Retina MBP(15in) for $1000 flat.
They're sketchy, so if it's stolen is there any way it could bite me on the ass?
>>54417195
>that pic
kys
Yes, you could get easily caught. In any case I'd never pay $1k for a used computer.
The most simple way it could bite you in the ass is if it is stolen and the owner locks it remotely via their AppleID. The next time it connects to a network, it'll demand the password for that account.
Meet the man behind Ubuntu MATE
I was an Arch Linux user by this time and happily using GNOME3, but I created a custom Arch Linux image with MATE to install on my family’s computers. They had their familiar desktop environment back, but the MATE builds on Arch were incomplete and somewhat buggy at that time. I started contributing upstream to fix MATE issues, which ultimately led to me becoming a core member of the MATE team and an Arch Linux TU maintaining MATE Desktop. This helped improve MATE, and wedded bliss was restored. Win!
Sadly, Arch Linux is an attention...
