What's your favourite GTK theme, /g/?
The shitty part is that the icon theme is some mockup hybrid they haven't actually made exist.
I use Arc with Vibrancy Colors Light Blue.
I just want a flat iconset like Paper that works with Cinnamon, is that so wrong?
Numix Dark
Certainly not Arc. How can you people look at that dark sidebar and then into that white space which shines like the sun?
Zukitre is a nice compromise and doesn't strain my eyes that much. Greybird was also nice, but it's still waiting for the 3.20 compatible version. Adwaita is also kind of bright/white and Numix is almost as bad as Arc.
I'll just leave this here
and your point?
what about php?
>>54427241
>uses a few year old graph
you can do better anon.
This kills the AMD
Why does /g/ become so apprehensive about discussing GPU tech?
Is it because Linux never gets quality drivers so only Windows people can truly take advantage of their hardware?
>>54427335
eh
proprietary nvidia drivers for gnu/linux are okay.
it's pretty much your only way of getting any stable GPU performance anyways.
it's the amd which falls short.
open source drivers reverse engineered by a bunch of neckbeards are better than what they release.
>>54427362
AMD doesn't even have drivers for the latest Ubuntu LTS release. Now all my fullscreen videos have horizontal lines running through them.
>Thanks AMD
hey /g/
Went to buy some beer at my street's chinkshop and the ancient and abandone old computer store was "open". I entered to lurk and found the owner. After 10 years closed with a lot of oldie stuff someone bought the place and he was cleaning and taking old stuff to the trash.
Rescued some old and nice keyboards and this nice Flatron 795FT plus.
What I should do with it ? Colors look pretty good and que refresh is awesome.
Sorry about the typos. Phones are fucking stupid.
>>54427200
Play retro games on it.
CRT displays are more-than-fine for certain videogame ranges that greatly benefit from high refresh rate and low input lag like fighting games and shooters.
Watching TV series on a CRT is mint as well, but due to the 4:3 ratio modern content leaves huge black bars, so you're limited to older series.
Old mechanical keyboards are will make you a lot of dosh if you find someone to buy them from you.
Do a homemade refurb and either keep them or sell them.
>the headphone jack is why our devices aren't thinner
Let's talk about this. Why exactly do we want thinner devices? Remember the iPhone 6's bending problem?
I have a Dell Venue 8 7840 and this thing is fucking thin. What merit are we getting from thinner devices that is worth sacrificing a wired headphone jack for? Wouldn't thinner devices also mean less space to put in decent components and/or cooling issues?
The "thinness singularity" is a stupid ideal in tech aesthetics that is all fluff and no substance.
The 3.5 Jack is the best invention ever made
>>54427127
Similar reasons people also want big screens.
They're being sold in other markets that buy more of them and want these things.
I just want a modern android phone with 4-4.5 in screen goddamnit
The only way we'd get thinner devices is not only by dumping the 3.5mm jack but also by requiring the device be charged inductively because the height of the charging port is equal to the 3.5mm jack.
buynowfags BTFO
There's nothing better than being a waitfag. After seeing the Pascal numbers, imagine how amazing Volta will be? Who else will be waiting for Volta?
I will be waiting
Who else /waitingforvega/?
Got my 980 ti + waterblock for $380. Not even mad.
Waiting for 16nm HBM cards.
What do you guys think of bitcoins ?
Meme.
But It was very entertaining to watch the kikes from the Big Gov trying to tackle the problem.
hate people who get rich from bitcoins
I use them to buy drugs online. other than that they're not that useful. Because the price is fluctuating all the time I'm reluctant to spend them.
Why is there even any debate between pic related? i7 is obviously faster, more powerful, and better designed, /g/.
>>54426872
If u only do gayman, i5
>>54426872
price/performance.
>>54426872
you dont buy a nascar car to drive to work (i7 for gaming/spreadsheets)
you dont race in nascar with a vw jetta (i5 for video rendering/compression)
Anyone else having problems with Internet Download Manager? For the last two days when i open it, after a few seconds it crashes, and when i go to download something it crashes halfway through the download
I've had this program for years and I've not changed anything or done anything in the last two days that could have started this
>>54426775
sounds like you've got a virus.
my suggestion is to install ubuntu and write your own download manager using python.
>Download Manager
What is this, 2005?
Proprietary software, who knows.
Try wget.
Windows 7 here. Want to update to 8.1 but have a few concerns; like the ugly UI and the Metro shits; how do I fix these? I want to have total control over customization. Is there a fix to remove completely all the new useless stuff?
I heard 8.1 is faster on older machines, is this true?
And in general, 8.1 > 7 ?
Keep in mind I'm a real nostalgic and love the way Win7 looks
>>54426754
Don't bother, there's no point.
>>54426754
>using Windows
Kill yourself
Imho win 8.1 is better than 7. Has some nice performance upgrades especially on ssds.
You can also just skip it and update to Windows 10 while it's free.
Hi /g/ I'd like to give password manager a try, I heard about KeePass, is it good? Would you recommand it?
>>54426699
fuck, what if someone takes away my keepass db and cracks the 4 letter password?
how to protect from this?
>>54426699
Yes, I would
but beware...
Your key file for keepass has to be carried with the program, there is no buit-in secure cloud function..
You'll have to integrate it into dropbox, your own cloud or whatever... OR... Just carry it on a flash drive on your keys.
>>54426699
It's very good, highly recommend. Been using it for several years without a problem.
I haven't had to enter a login in probably 3 years now.
You got one yet?
>>54426568
Got a 2...
Is 3 just a hotter 2? How much better is it reeeallly?
>>54426568
nope, waiting for the initial rush to end so they'll be sold for the intended $35, rather than giving in to the current gouging prices of the merchants.
>>54426568
No, I don't like wasting my money.
My pc sometimes freezes and I have to restart the pc. When I start it up again it says my CPU temperature is really high. Could it be the thermal paste of the CPU? Haven't change it in 3-4 years.
>>54426518
Not tech support, kys useless piece of shit.
>>54426518
>Could it be the thermal paste of the CPU?
definitely. had the same issue, now everything runs stable
Any idea what kind of device this is? I've never seen one before.
It's in a movie from 2000. The characters use it to store data.
>>54426402
Zip drive?
>>54426418
It does look like an external storage drive, but I don't recall ever seen an iomega zip drive look like that.
could be a pcmcia flash card, just going off that picture
How many Optional offers would you tolerate before you completely abandon software?
There used to be just one optional offer and adobe cuck shills would say "you can just uncheck the box".
Now there are two offers. Is is still not a big deal?
At what point do optional offers become malware? 10 optional offers? 100?
>>54426373
>At what point do optional offers become malware? 10 optional offers? 100?
It doesn't matter, flash player is already malware without any optional offers
>>54426406
Then why is there still backwards compatibility built in to most modern browsers?
>>54426373
Adobe Flash was always malware and that's why we all fuckin dropped it.
xvideos uses HTML5. Don't bother installing it.
