My router is on its deathbed.
Is this thing a meme? Total waste of money? Any recommendations - thinking of doing some smart home shit soon, too.
>>54481505
It doubles as a drone which defends your house. Go for it, OP.
>>54481665
yeah but it's like $300, so if it's just a total marking shill thing, I'd rather get something worth it?
>>54481711
>It doubles as a drone which defends your house.
I was memeing. Anyway, $300 seems too much for a wireless router. I would make more research to find other routers.
Is there any way to get free, non-pirated W8.1 and Office without getting any variations of botnets on my dick?
Thanks.
No.
No.
>>54481480
Sorry anon, you need to accept the botnet.
post classic /g/ pics from your own country

UNFATHOMABLE RAGE
>>54481466
>that pic
>this is why you should never let your family know youre a computer person
Also 4 years isnt that long is it?
Help me /g/! I've got a coding interview tomorrow, specially for Android Development. How should I prepare? What might they ask me?
start off by learning android development
>>54481438
>How many loos have you pooed in?
>>54481471
I can already do that. Looking for a typical coding problem for this kind of interview
HOLY SHIT they did it again.
>>54481290
They are busy trying to develop best distro, they can't be bothered with such earthly things as expiring ssl.
>>54481290
just use Arch, senpai
>>54481290
Why don't they monitor their shit? It's 2016 people!
Im gonna start to learn programming and I thought the best way would be to write it down on paper rather than typing it in
the examples I mean
did you do this too?
>>54481210
No. Just type them out.
No this is a terrible idea unless you're preparing for whiteboard interviews. Programming is a ton of muscle memory, and you won't know if you're program compiles if it's on paper.
Use an editor like vi/vim/Nano where it doesn't autocorrect like an ide would. That's the equivalent if writing on paper.
>>54481210
come the fuck on op
Is it a coincidence Scheme rhymes with meme?
>>54481326
Yeah, but why the hell did they call their language scheme?
How do you implement a hashmap in Scheme?
What do yo think about the gayming chairs anons¿?¿
Best comfy chairs for the budget?
>>54481021
Just go buy one you find comfortable at IKEA.
>>54481021
Dumb as shit. The only reason why people use this garbage is because pro gaymers use it. And pro gaymers use it because they get it for free. Is it better than cheapo ikea chair? Yeah probably. Are you paying 5x the actual value because it's marketed as gayman chair? Yes you are.
Find decent Ikea or some ergo chair if you feel the need to blow some cash or are having back problems.
>>54481021
No
Go buy a chair that isnt meant for a race car.
That moment when you finally go back to Windows after years of using Linsucks and everything just works.
No more X freezing randomly because shitty drivers
No more "this program only runs on windows and mac and there is no working linux alternative for it"
No more "have to edit grub so my computer will boot with nomodeset"
HNGGGGGGG
Post your positive tech feels
>>54481004
>mfw never fell for the linux meme in the first place
>>54481084
I still think it's a good idea to have at least a passing knowledge of UNIX.
>>54481137
administering a server is way enough for that.
no need to poison your desktop with things not fit for it
Yes, no? Opinions?
I already have the phone to go with it, so it wouldn't be a crazy expense.
>>54480857
no wires=good
even less software=bad
Kinda wish my contract was up when they did the "free" gear VR with s7 (not that I will do the s7 after my note 4 battery crapped out on me, new battery was $15 and not even possible with new s7)
Definite yes if you have the S7, the S6 have overheating problems and don't run the more graphically intense games very well.
The tracking is very accurate without lag or bad battery drain. I can play 4-5 hours easily without plugging in.
Dead Secret and Smash Hit are my favorite so far, they have very different graphics styles but make such good use of the head tracking. It's up to about 80% of the rift experience with the newest iteration, right down to a very similar "launcher".
>>54481377
I have the s7e. How does it compare to the Vive tho?
I heard that the Oculus is shit wrt to the Vive
is namecheap.com a reliable, professional registrar? i wanted to register a few domains with them, checked some revies and experiences and they don't look good at all (very recent reviews too). all of their positive reviews look like the most obvious indian 5$-top review paid for bullshit.
anyone here have any experiences with them?
who is that semen demon
>>54480854
they're dreadful but so are most of the cheap registrants out there.
I use them regularly, never had any problem.
They also support the EFF and accept bitcoins for payment.

What thongs should I learn before I start learning computer programming?
>>54480763
Basic if-then-else logic.
>>54480763
>thongs
>computer programming
I think you may have a few things mixed up.
>>54480872
What's mixed up about that? Everyone knows dressing like a girl makes you a better programmer.
I challenge you to name a bigger piece of shit than Unetbootin
>install iso to usb
>Everytime I try and boot the USB "No operating system found"
This shit never fucking works.
This is true
Anyone knows a good alternative?
I know there is Rufus for Windows
anyone has one for GNU/Linux?
>>54480745
boot the USB what?
>>54480761
LiLi works everytime.
>ctrl + f "tay"
>no result
So you faggots just forgot about her? What happened to trying to rebuild her?
>inb4 muh attention span
never forget

Can someone please explain how Linux is used in the professional world? Im not asking about desktop ricers etc... Im wondering what are the the reasons for using it as a developer/programmer? Asking for real world examples.
>>54480553
Whole OS is like an IDE.
Just try compiling something from source on Windows
NETWORK APPLIANCE
Most servers run linux or netbsd.
Windows server is a joke.
Most developers also prefer *NIX environments because they don't fight you every step of the way.
