Networking hardware vendor TP-Link says it will prevent the loading of open source firmware on routers it sells in the United States in order to comply with new Federal Communications Commission requirements.

Given the way TP-Link approaches firmware it's hardly surprising. If you want a basic router that has good hardware then TP-Link does great job for the price, anything advanced and you're hosed.
Given that other hardware manufacturers exist, TP-Link will probably lose some hobbyists to companies that will instead choose to enforce the restriction on the radio firmware.
What's stopping me from making my own router exactly?
Also tp links have rock solid firmware, I've never felt the need to change it.

The market accepted dual slot and it leaves room for both the ports and some air exhaust out the back. Power reqs went up immensely from 2000 to present.
I doubt that high end GPUs are going to go back to single slot within any reasonable timespan.

I don't think you need anything more than 250omh. They should run with your MB audio as my ROG Maximus extreme-z, same for dualshock 4, can drive HD800 (300omh, 104db per 1V) to normal volume.
Higher impedance headphones used in studio environment, so 600omh will be overkill for home usage.

It's worthless as a dual core. You can unlock them to a full quad core, but there's no guarantee that the disabled cores will actually work or be stable.
A quad core Phenom II is still a decent enough gaymen chip for most purposes and a hex core Phenom II will run just about anything fine. I've been using a 1090T whilst between CPUs and have been very impressed with it. There are only a few gaymes where it can't deliver 60fps.

I bought some cheap LED lights from aliexpress. They came without a wall plug, but the exterior says "12W AC90-260V 50/60Hz.
I figured since the wall socket pumps out 230V here i'd just solder it to a standard wall plug and it'd work. It blew a fuse, but the light is still intact.
