Linux audio question
I'm having issues with audio skips/blips/faggotry using mpd with alsa. How the fuck do I get mpd to work with jack? I compiled it with jack support and changed audio_output to Jack but there's no sound and the logs say it failed to connect to the jack server, despite the fact that I started the server with qjackctl and everything else works fine (but everything else is not connecting directly to Jack, rather to alsa which then connects to Jack)
I have googled my error message for hours and found nothing. The manpages just say "yea...

That doesn't discuss Jack at all. I should mention I never had issues with alsa and mpd until I got a usb dac (focusrite 2i2). Now it skips a few times every song for a fraction of a second.
No idea how to fix this, but I hear Jack has real-time priority which seems like a good place to start. If only mpd wouldn't be a fuckin bitch and connect to my jack server. And if only there were more documentation for this online

well, the linux audio backend isn't a widely discussed topic here.
I'm not saying that you should do this, but I got pulseaudio working alright after following that guide in the link with messing with an option or two.
I don't know jack about JACK though.
Got a 3 tb WD external harddrive that out of nowhere just stopped showing up on my computer when I plug it in now.
The light still comes on and I can still hear the hd spinning like normal but it just doesnt show up

Are red LED lights (yep -- I just said "light emitting diode lights") wise to have in a computer case?
I'm currently shopping for a new exterior, and I'm so far loving this black tower I keep getting recommended to me. But it comes with red LEDs, which I'm hesitant towards because red lighting in general produces more heat. Yet after looking through the case specs, the LEDs are only in the fans at the front; leading me to believe that since they're pretty much buttbuddies with the cooling fans, it shouldn't be much of an issue. You'll have higher temperatures, but as a tradeoff, you'll be able to achieve more aggressive framerates in modern video games. if you're really worried about temps though, try some blue ones for the chilling effect--though you'll sacrifice a certain amount of accuracy

I may be moving to a neighborhood with a higher crime index than my current one, so I was looking for a decent solution without being tethered to a 3 year lease and a monthly payment. Clearly they don't want you to have to waste the energy of scrolling all the way past a full article to get to the ads and clickbait at the bottom of the page.

Are you sure about that? Most of the time I have see this it just reveals the rest of the article that was hidden but already loaded. Never need it actually cause a page load or change the URL.

Hey /g/ im interested in coding and going into the technology field as a computer engineer and eventually moving my computer engineering on to cars with the big ass computers in them ex.
