What is the best fan configuration for the CM 690 II
I currently have 2 fans at the top going out, the rear exhaust fan, front intake fan, 2 bottom intake fans, 2 intake fans on the door too. The processor fan is the standard for Intel Ivy Bridge..
That being said, my graphics card is running oddly hot. It's never really run this hot before and I'm kind of worried, I've even started lagging a lot inside my games.
Should I change my fans or replace the thermal paste on the graphics card? (it's about 3 years old)
>>54551906
Remove dust.
>>54551920
All the fans were recently installed and when I did this I thoroughly went through everything and removed the dust. I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.
>>54551938
Could possibly be the thermal paste on the gpu then?
What GPU is it?
I don't know how, but suddenly it was unmountable, so I tried to recover and unfortunately used btrfsck - - repair pretty early in. Now I can mount, but my drive is displayed as pretty much empty
(though 800 GB are still used according to GParted). I also can't recover anything using btrfs restore (getting parent transid failure a few thousand times).
help me /g/? I want my data back
>>54551878
>he fell for the btrfs meme
>>54551878
I'm genuinely sorry
hopefully some data recovery anon can hel you out
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/tree/Documentation/filesystems/btrfs.txt?id=refs/tags/v4.4.5
>Btrfs is under heavy development, and is not suitable for
any uses other than benchmarking and review.
Are SSD's worth it?
>>54551787

Are prebuilt HP desktop workstations for home use a good idea if I have the money?
Used? Probably, great looks, high quality components and plenty of horsepower.
New? Probably not.
>if I have the money
buy them off ebay, or look for 20% off
hp workstations are the most expensive out of dell and lenovo
Also look on auction websites
In australia pickles auctions for example
Dug this old sumbitch out of storage cause I heard you can root it pretty easily. The only thing is I read the thread a while ago and i don't remember much.
So, /g/, my question is this:
What are some cool things I can dowload onto my psp
>>54551606
I mainly use mine for emulation. It's so fucking nice to have physical buttons rather than using the touchscreen on a phone.
>>54551606
>root it
>isn't a smartphone
this maymay language needs to go
>>54551606
Porn, Porn, Porn, Genpoo.
I do not know if you guys can help me, but I recently got hacked. Managed to get half of my origin account back, but I can't change the security question, nor answer it, because of cyrillic letters.
My only leads are
name: Mert Narin
username: mertskip60
email: [email protected]
a maybe fake birthdate: 03/04/1980
He left these scattered while trying to change my email, and changing my origin username.
I want revenge, I want to find who that is.

what elementary school did you go in, the message says
cool story brony
Well, that he changed too then. Thanks.
'sup /g./. A friend's kid wants to me to build him a gaming PC for around $700. That's no problem, but he wants it to be able to run ARK: Survival Evolved. Everything I read on the forums makes it sound like you need a grotesquely powerful GPU to run that game.
Is this true? We were thinking a GTX960 for the CPU but if the internet is right we should be looking at a 970 or 980 which might start putting it out of his budget.
>>54551392
>ARK: Survival Evolved
is horribly optimized. Think Crysis plus Minecraft.
Just get the best hardware you can in his budget, don't aim for performance in just one given game. He won't be playing ARK on it a year from now, and if he is it'll be better optimized (hopefully)
You want a gtx 970 to play it at 1080p and have it look good. Just in case the information is useful, it's practically unplayable with a 550ti. My advice is to bump the budget up $100 or so and wait for a 1070.
Buy used components. Got my 780ti for 220$
Discuss cards here
When the new cards come out from Nvidia and AMD and prices drop what card should I get for 1440p? I want over 60fps also wanna spend around $400
GTX 1080
>>54551405
I'm not dropping that much sorry
>>54551491
GTX 1070.

This thread was created to prevent anons from spamming new threads, for technology questions they have.
If you are that person, post your simple/small/stupid questions here.
Don't bump. This is a slow board, and will continue to be. Wait for an answer or google it.
If you see other anons posting questions outside this thread, ignore or redirect them here.
Use >>>/g/sqt as a link to find the sqt thread.

How do we know someone is using free software compiled from the available source code as is, and not a modified version if that source code (say botnet/spyware attached)?
I'm using 4chan X 1.11.33.2, and I'm getting really fed up of having to manually check "Prefetch Images" on every thread. How can I make it checked by default?
>>54551323
If you're not auditing the code and compiling it yourself you don't know.
>Just works
Ubuntu, not even once
god damn i hate seeing retards use ubuntu to be cool/different/hacker and bitching because they don't know what they're doing
>nano
>bittorrent anything
>"BitSysnc"
>attempting to run 32 bit in 2016
>extracting a tar instead of PPAs made for incompetent retards like you
>bitching about how the manual method is too hard for you and crying "it just works"

1. It's x64
2. Better sync client than syncthing
3. PPA is BROKEN
4. There is no official wiki page for this
>>54551290
Don't they have a deb? That does all of this for you iirc. I don't use btsync because they won't open source the client, but the deb should do what you need.
