What the fuck is this shit?
Yes, I already read the link and no, I don't buy it. The whole thing stinks.
Just use their .onion then?
Or just use Bing (I've never gotten a captcha searching Bing via Tor), since Yahoo gets its results from Bing.

I don't see how this changes anything about how the site operates.
Do you think they're operating any differently now in regards to your privacy that they're cooperating with Yahoo, or did you not trust them in the first place? Why would this announcement change anything? You're still doing a leap of faith regardless of which search giant you're entrusting your search queries to.

What programming language should i master and why?
samurai sword, it's the latest web dev front end craze
You should definitely master an impractical and obscure language so you can brag about it on this godforsaken website

C++ because it is universal and how computers actually work

That aside,
Nice two tripcodes my man. If you weren't such a newfag, maybe you'd know a tripcode doesn't indicate uniqueness.
A friend of mine is buying a new prebuilt desktop that's on sale for Prime Day (he's a tech illiterate and I don't want to build one for him) and I'm thinking about getting him to buy an SSD for it too to replace the HDD. What would be the easiest way to install the OS? Could I just use a drive clone program to copy over the entire OEM drive and, keeping the licensed Windows install and all the manufacturer apps? Or would that cause problems?
>I don't wanna build one for him
Why not? Literally takes 30-45 minutes at most and you would be saving him money as well as giving him a better computer.
>>55546645
That wouldn't work for a number of reasons. One of the big ones being none of the drivers would be compatible.
Just pull the OEM key and do a fresh install.
>>55546645
>won't help him build a computer
>yet will be a tremendous faggot helping install an os in a stupid, convoluted way.
fuck off.
Hi /g/ I haven't came here in over 7 years. 7 years ago I came here to ask for some advice on buying a new rig. It's that time again as your spectacular advice lasted me for 7 years of gaming.
I have almost 500.00 to spend on my new rigs backbone. I need ideas for a mobo and cpu. Any help? I already decided on a gtx 970 but I'm not super tech savy so i have no idea on the new cpus out atm etc.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. A mobo/cpu combo around 450.00 would be perfect. I don't need super cpu power as I just want a mid tier gaming rig.
I3 6100, rx480, 16GB ddr4 21400mhz, 480GB ssd + 2TB hgst/hitachi, 1337 gamer case with side panel

2400mhz*, fuck
Also cheap but not bottom level mobo from gigabyte.
>>55546641
Awesome ty Ill definitely check this out.
What would you think about an
asus z170-a
i5 6600
Comes to about the most I want to spend but they seem decent from what I've read. How's compatability? Or is above miles better for the buck?
What VPN do you use , why ?
Cryptocorn
VPNs are a meme
Mulvad or GTFO
When I connect my PC to my TV it works fine and I see the screen and all, but if I turn on a game like GTA V, it becomes just black.
What's the reason?
Is GTAV set to run at 1080p?
You need to disable the TV's built-in faggotry detection circuitry before playing your mindless weeaboo games.
>>55546570
Yes, why?
Is Louis Rossmann autistic? Keeps saying it's easy to find out what is wrong with your board yet I feel his autism has the better of him. No sane person would waste their time repairing a board; rather they go out and get new hardware. Do you fall in the latter category?
technology is autism, and anyone who deals with it is autistic, including /g/

Is it possible for a computer running HomOSeX or Linux to get infected with malware without typing in your password when installing?
>tfw pirating Bettertouchtool is more complicated and risky than I thought
>>55546510
If there is some privilege escalation exploit, sure.
>>55546510
>HomOSeX
>>55546510
Contrary to popular belief, malware persistence (at least on Linux) doesn't require root privileges
And since you're probably running the OS on a single-user setup, chances are it won't even need to escalate privileges to do anything
I've got this Wyse Winterm S10, and I'd like to install some sort of linux distro to it.
https://wiki.hacdc.org/index.php/Linux_on_Wyse_Winterm_S10_Thin_Clients
The Wyse Winterm SX0 S10 features:
AMD Geode processor 333MHz
0-32MB internal flash memory ([1]) behind an ATA/IDE disk controller ([2])
64-128MB RAM (4 x [3])
BIOS capable of booting from USB flash drives or PXE
>>55546341
I'd look into Puppy Linux. Don't expect much.
>>55546341
Windows xp would probably run better than any Linux out there, based on my personal experience with a 400mhz celeron laptop
>>55546529
there's really no way I'm going to get xp on this thing, unless I get some 44 pin IDE converter for a sd card or something.
So I lost my wallet today, /g/. Of course, I cancelled my cards and all that, no issue, but it got me thinking. Say I hadn't noticed. What would prevent a crook from, say, disguising themselves, using my card at a lonely ATM (or a bank ATM at night), simply withdrawing some cash, and heaving the card in the ditch? That's kind of a spooky loophole!
>>55546254
Just be poor instead.
Then you can't lose any money.
they need your pin to withdraw money from an ATM?
>>55546289
Also most ATM's take your picture, or have always running video.

imo any piece of shit with a few fans will do, just make sure all your parts will fit. for example:

looks like shit, but comes with three fans for $30

are iPads/tablets ultimately a meme or can they make a comeback? if android hadn't knocked the bottom out of the tablet market with cheap garbage would they still be viable as laptop replacements?
pic unrelated
>>55546118
Tablets suffer from the same problem as netbooks. Turns out nobody wants a shitty computer that can't do anything useful.
I don't like and never liked tablets (although I have one). But i do like the 2 in 1 laptops like the 360 bendable lenovo yoga or the detachable screen on surface pro.
So i don't think tablets will die, but will continue with variations
Standalone tablets and 2 in 1 laptops are a meme. Soon everyone will attach their phone into a tablet or laptop shell to get a bigger screen.

picked up several Panasonic Toughbook CF-50 laptops
what OS should I put on them? Was going to try RemixOS but USB booting isn't an option here and it won't work off a CD.
joli-os is discontinued
I don't care about linux unless I'm using an aircrack / slitaz distro to crack wifi
I'm gonna try chromeOS because why the fuck now, wish me luck boyos

BSD
Haiku
whatever shitty GNU and/or Linux distro you like

Guise help. I'm about to kill myself. I just installed arch and have before successfully but with a display manager. Now I'm trying to do it without one but startx won't run on root or user. Help?
>>55545873
The wiki will help
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xinitrc
it won't run as root, first of all.
cat /usr/bin/X, find out what the script is trying to execute on line 2, and then fix it from there.
>>55546179
yeah it will
he's probably just missing drivers
