Looking for help finding some weird hardware. Made a thread in /wsr/ but found no results.
tl,dr: Been looking for a few years, can't find shit like this, nothing online seems to match what I need. Male cable to female receiver. Products online have connectors too thick. Your suggestion probably has the same problem. Can't measure, don't have anything to do it.
Images to follow, first one is what I'm looking for.

This is the receiver. Melted because of shit connector.
And here's the major problem. Kind of a safety hazard, along with cutting connection often.
I'm tired. I'll check on this in the morning. Here's hoping for better results.
that's a samsung LCD screen plug.

Either going to write a brainfuck -> C transpiler or an assembler + emulator for some architecture
still deciding

>What are you working on /g/?
It's a Sunday, I ain't working on anything.
Our CS club just ordered a bunch of these for people to use. What would be the coolest thing I could do with one or more of them?

Shove it as far up your ass as possible and stream anime from your butthole.

Shit tier taste, anon. So, good call with the ass recommendation.
Can I use machine learning and a bunch of search engines to create an AI all-knowing God computer?
It would be rad af to just say "eyo make me some cash for the weekend" and the computer would be like "got u covered senpai"
What do you think, /g/?
some authors have thought about this and the gist is that probably yes it will be doable, but not now and certainly not by someone naively asking it on 4chan.
>>54555148
machine learning to learn machine learning and let it snowball from there
>>54555246
if it was as easy to do something as it is to say it, then your parents probably would have just raised you not to be retarded. but it's not.

We're starting to get HDTV this year though.
Not even a joke.
Channel Seven (australia's biggest commercial television network) only started their HD service literally a week ago.
Anybody else still using a Core2Quad?
I have the q9450 and the x5470 (modded) and for being 10 years old they both still seem to be good chips. How would they compare to a newer AMD or i7? I can't seem to find core2quads, AMD or i7 IPC stats anywhere to do an accurate comparison.
Q6600 Master Race
Q6600 here.
>>54555119
Most users would never notice a difference between a Q6600 and a 6th gen i7
Now that the dust has settled, what does /g/ think of this machine crafted solely for work?
screen is too small, should be at least 7" wide, preferably 7x5"
>>54554959
How is this any different from word processors from the 90s?
>>54554959
Seemed kinda cool DESU
I like the single tasking idea - so you know... to have a dedicated mini device that doesn't take a shit load of space is kinda cool - if i ever wrote any thing, would probably do it.
>>54555005
a e s t h e t i c
Also lower power,Integrated screen and overall better features\processing. i mean literally any CPU you buy off the shelf will out do those. and iirc this has connectivity so you can actually work on it...

8 years on helpdesk man. I don't want to do IT anymore. Burned out as fuck.
Did anyone ever quit their IT career and move somewhere else?
>>54554945
I know a guy that quit a year ago and is still unemployed but he says he's never been happier
>implying helpdesk is not god tier
>install adobe reader all day long and get paid for it
>>54554964
I am in a position where I could live a while off of my savings, but I am taking care of my parents currently. That would burn up quick. Not to mention I am sick as fuck and need insurance.
>you don't need it
>it's overpriced
>you already have an equivalent

>you're just going to install Linux

Do you have irrational Apple lust, /g/? I've wanted a 2006 PowerBook or MacBook Pro for a fucking month now for no good reason.
No I'm not brainwashed.

I always like to think a Macbook would be nice to have, but I like the ability of my thinkpad to be a blunt weapon and not shatter more

Does anyone here use RHEL on a daily basis?
What do you use it for? Is it worthwhile for anyone to install Cent OS at home?
Red Hat consistently makes poor decisions and it's falling out of favor for Ubuntu in the server market. I try not to use CentOS if I can avoid it.
>>54554723
>Red Hat consistently makes poor decisions
examples?
any examples come to mind?
>>54554708
After switching to Fedora, CentOS is all I use for server stuff.
Friend selling custom built PC for 450$. Need advice. Seems too good to be true
Comes with 27" acer monitor
Keyboard and mouse (Razer)
AMD processor
NVDIA GeForce 460
1TB memory
Windows 10
8GB RAM
he said its 2 years dated. yay or nay?
>>54554633
Kill it with fire.
Better off selling the part separate.
460 is pure shit
>>54554633
>AMD Processor
>NVDIA GeForce 460
It's ok, but wtf is the processor. Also if pic related is the actually computer your buying, consider suicide please and get a new case
Mine right now is the Tuple
>Optimized in most languages
>Can run functions like zip(list1, list2) in HURRthon to form a tuple
i'm too dumb to think of any more reasons, but I like the fact that OCaml uses lists, which are related to tuples as the primary data type
Hashmaps are beautiful and simple and perfect. So many use cases and constant time efficiency. Trie is a close second though.
Binary trees are, and always will be the best.
Everything is just a special case of binary trees.

What does /g/ think of some of my recent Hi-Fi finds?
NAD 7175 Power Envelope integrated amp (2x75w) - $100
NAD 2155 power amp (2x55w) - $45
Audio Control Richter Scale Series III - $35
I've seen all of this go on eBay for much higher
2155 - $250;
7175PE - $225;
Richter Scale - $430
The Richter Scale is really cool. It's basically a bass controller, it has a crossover stage which cuts over at 90Hz with hi/low/bridged/inverted outputs. Then it's got a separate stage with a 6 half octave step bass EQ, plus a warble tone generator...

A better look at the Richter Scale.
