IPS is not what you want for "medium-heavy" gaming.
The colors are nicer than TN, but the pixel response is 5x a good TN panel.
If you're okay with a bit slower response time I have the panel from the little brother of this monitor (U2515H).
I have two Asus PB258Q and they are fine for some gaming, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to do competitive FPSs or something similar.

Lol im gaming on a 9 year old samsung 25.5" so anything would be an upgrade.
Sick of TN colors

Bad support, either from the OS or the applications
That's why high dpi works so good on Android, the OS and apps natively supported it from the beginning.
>>54560842
OS X supports it very well.
if you have it set lower than 192 KHz, you're a scrub

Weird thing just happened, and some of you might be able to help me.
So two years ago my Surface tablet was stolen, and I have absolutely no clue as to whom it might have been. It happened during the night, no cameras saw it, no one was around, so I never gave it much thought since there was basically no chance I'd ever see it again. So I just forgot about it.
It just so happens that I received an email from someone I've never talked to before saying that "I'm sorry to bother you Sr. Anon, but a few years ago you sold me your Surface tablet and you never got around to giving me the password, so if you could get around to it I'd appreciate it.". No images, just plain text.
Now, this might be just random spam, but it might also be that the fucker that stole my tablet is trying to double-cross me right now, and I'm willing to bet on the second one. The thing is, I don't know how I'd even get any info on them, since the only thing I have is their email. Hence why I'm here. Can somebody help me?
>>54560741
break it,throw it on the ground and send it back to where it came from, with a big dick drawn on the same note he sent you

> a few years ago you sold me your Surface tablet and you never got around to giving me the password
Excellent memer I see.
have you reported it to the police?
If yes, go and tell them someone has contacted you.
If it was a generic gmail/yahoo/memesoft mail account it will be fairly easy to establish who.
That of course assuming the police in your country is not a bunch of useless niggers.
Let's create a new programming roll thing
I think you could have 3 tiers for each roll, so that there are three difficulties. If you have a CS degree, getting reverse a string in place (hopefully) isn't a challenging exercise, but if you just started with Python a month ago, creating a raytracer might be a bit too challenging.
What are some suggestions?

Retarded coding or does RAM speed actually matter?
>>54560670
That's a CPU benchmark, not RAM, you retard.
RAM speed does matter, just not as much as everything else. Now go back to /v/.
>>54560685
Fuck you.
It was quickly spotted that the memory was running much slower than it ought to be, though we weren't entirely sure this was the cause of the massive deficit. Turns out it was, as moving the memory back up to 2400MHz resulted in a massive 67% increase in minimum frame rate for the Core i7-4770K.

>>54560670
Of course RAM speed matters. Memory access is the biggest bottleneck on modern hardware for most applications. I don't know much about video game programming, but I know that upgrading RAM can lead to large speedups in many cases.
Of course, this bottleneck is hidden somewhat because high-end processors have large caches. It is still often a bottleneck, though.

stop bitching unless you want all the bullshit anontalk spam back
Windows 10 has caused me nothing but fucking problems since I was literally forced to download it. I went AFK for about 20 minutes doing work stuff and when I come back it's updating my operating system to Windows 10 as if the gods had taken a big turd on my mouse and made it click to install it. I let it install and didn't revert as I had heard it wasn't that bad, this was last week. I haven't been able to get on to any of my steam games since I installed it, I've tried troubleshooting, I've checked all my network stuff, I've even fucked around...

This is your fault for not disabling win10 updates
>>54546275
You should be able to roll back to Windows 7 with in 30 days. But sometimes the rollback fucks up too, so backup your stuff and be prepared to do a clean install.

What do you do when your Common sense 2016 pro edition antivirus fails you?
I got my computer infected yesterday and now I'm after a few antivirus scans, a fresh system install, another antivirus scan and now I downloaded another antivirus that is scanning my computer just to be sure.
So? Any tips? Any stories?
I hope this thread doesn't die
