So apparently I as a 7 Ultimate gaming and 8.1 tablet/laptop user am on suicide watch: https://github.com/alirobe/sysadmin-scripts/blob/master/windows10/reclaimWindows10.ps1
Installing 10 Pro 64 tomorrow on main rig because upgrading RAM past 4GB, this script appears to cover everything. Will report in when I'm abducted by the NSA.
>>55551041
nice
>>55551041
Nice blog but none of those "le destroy windows 10 spying" scripts won't do shit.
I don't get it even if NSA is spying on you so what its not like they gonna do anything with it
Bow down to the best smartphone ever made, the HP 641C. It was ahead of it's time and will be sorely missed by all.
>missed by the 8 people who actually had one
Because you fuckers know shit about what's actually good.
>>55550956
I miss the days when smartphones actually tried to act like computers.

Please take cancer to Reddit.
What do the power / reset buttons on my mainboard do? Can't get the thing to POST, so wondering if I should try pressing the power button on the mainboard. Pretty sure I plugged in all the cables correctly, so idk why it's not working.
>>55550932
Power and reset are the exact same thing on the front of the case. Power is on/off, reset is a hard reboot.
Did you set the CPU correctly?
>>55550964
Also, any beeps or status codes?
>>55550964
I was *very* careful when inserting the CPU. i5 2500k, it's my baby.
>>55550974
Got the mainboard second hand though (Asus Z68), and they didn't send a mainboard speaker attachment, unless the thing has one built onto the board already.
I used to not give a shit about security, but now I want to completely rebuild my network from the ground up with security in mind, including reinstalling and configuring all of my computers.
What operating systems and other factors should I consider moving forward? I know i will have at least one Windows 10 PC.
>>55550916
Get win 10 enterprise or education then

Is there a site/service/app that I can use to talk with an AI that isn't some garbage like cleverbot?
If not, how many years do you think it'll be before this kind of sentience is available to the public?
>>55550849
there was, until she was kill
>>55550933
nothing more than cleverbot in tweet form. I meant truly sentient AI.
Hey /g/, I have a question regarding small electronic devices like bluetooth or gps receivers.
Doesn't the technology exist to gather enough energy from the electromagnetic spectrum around us to power a device such as a gps locater, without ever having a need to recharge?
I believe this is already done with RFID to some extent, but I was curious if you had any more information.
Danke.
>>55550817
No.
>>55550817
>Doesn't the technology exist to gather enough energy from the electromagnetic spectrum around us to power a device such as a gps locater
No
>>55550826
That is a pretty blanket statement for everything there.
How come no one has made a sentient AI yet?
Are people just afraid of muh skynet boogeyman?
>inb4 pedants start arguing about the definition of 'sentient'
you know what I mean
>>55550723
>you know what I mean
nope i dont. i'm afraid you're going to have to define it.
if you insist on not defining it then i will insist that as the turing test for AI was passed last year then sentience has in fact been achieved. check mate. game over.
>>55550981
ha! i was wrong, it was not even last year, it was 2014
Because we are all too busy running a train on your mom.
Do you guys recommend the Note 3 Pro Prime? Got a Note 3 (Samsung), is it a worthy upgrade?
>>55550567
There are generals for this question.
csg, spg, sqt.
Fuck off to one of those
>>55550594
I can't see a spg, otherwise I would of gone there
Read the sticky, currynigger
Hey guys, Hope everyone is having a good night. I'm sure this is a super noob question so I'm apologizing ahead of time. I have been looking into buying an active PA system(Peavey 115D) and then I also wanted to get a passive subwoofer but those are just as expensive as the main speaker. I was being a jew and found a passive rockville 18"(Rockville SBG1188 18") that is fairly cheap. However, the active speaker has a 400 watt 8 ohm amp for itself and then another 400 watt 8 ohm amp for another speaker. The rockville sub is 4 ohm 500 watt RMS passive speaker....

Hi /g/uys
I have googled to no avail.
Does anyone know why a pi3 with a fresh OpenElec installed would only detect 1 wireless access point? There are multiple access points in the area. I haven't a clue why it's focusing on this one in particular(it's on a different floor and further away).
Despite being 802.11n, the wifi only supports 2.4GHz. Maybe the other APs are running at 5GHz?
Rpi3 WiFi is shit, get a USB dual band adapter
>>55550273
Hrm, odd. The AP is 802.11bg @ 2.4Ghz.
Want to get into app development for iOS. Which would /g/ recommend as a programming language?
I'm already decently versed in C++ and I assume Objective-C would be similar to it in syntax so that's what I was initially considering but after doing some reading online many people recommend Swift if you're just starting app dev.
>inb4 iOS :^)
>>55550207
I think youre pretty much obligated to use Swift for iOS development, if not, just pick one of higher level languages that can make your code platform-wide compatible with Android, Windows phones and maybe web/pc too so you have a wide market.

Fuck printers and FUCK the people who make them
Worthless garbagehumans
idiots, IDIOTS
>>55550200
Anon, it is much more difficult to make things that manipulate matter than things that manipulate information.
It is amazing that we can make printers as reliable and as cheap as they are.

Alright turds, listen up. I need your opinions.
My mom works at a doctor's office. Today she calls me talking about a patient they had today who is filing for bankruptcy, even though his job is going perfectly fine.
The man said his home router got 'hacked'. The hacker, or maybe a group of people, was somehow able to download presumably TB's of data through that router. I did not talk to the man myself but I'm guessing there was no one outside his home that he could see that would be within range of his home router's signal or he...

>He can prove that he didn't do it, nor any of his family, but supposedly the alleged claims are legit because 'they used his router'.
Tell him to talk to a lawyer. They're trying to argue he is personal responsible for contributory negligence which is a losing argument. Seems like they're using a scare tactic to get him to settle out of court.
