Hey guys. I am attempting build a new PC. Is this future proof to a moderate extent? I am upgrading from an AMD A10 5800k (from 2013) and 8 GB of ram, etc. etc. I am currently using the R9 listed.
I intend to use this PC as a gaming/streaming machine, and have never been a fan of overclocking. I admit, I am much better at actually building and using PCs than I am at understanding specs of components and all that.
Also, if that case suffices, it does have three fan ports. Front is intake (included), and it has an empty rear and top slot. I would use the rear as...

Are you sure you can't get better than am R9 380? Downgrade to a Z97 board and an i5 4690k and get ddr3 and you should be able to buy a 390. The difference in cpu and ram performance will be pretty small between the DDR4 + 6700 and DDR3 + 4690. The difference between an R9 380 and R9 390 is pretty big.
I could upgrade at a later date (after my core PC is built).
I don't have a max budget really. I just don't want to spend a bunch on a core PC as we all know eventually you start paying big money for small differences. I figured an i7 6700 core was a healthy place to be, and I could get a new 144Hz monitor and whatnot as I go.
Is the list I provided a good start?

Also keep in mind, I already own an R9 380.
What is the best Ron for this piece of sit.
Mine is getting slow
The answer is always Swanson
They're all slow and Cyanogenmod is buggy and shit.
Sorry man.

Does ARM offer any serious advantage over x86?
http://techcrunch.com/2016/05/17/how-intel-missed-the-iphone-revolution/
>>54630736
Nope. It's actually a lot worse in terms of freedom since they're tied to a platform with no standard bootloader like BIOS or EFI, like x86 does.
You can buy any computer and install whatever the fuck OS you like on them, while a lot of ARM devices have locked bootloaders, and when they're unlocked, you will have to target and compile an OS for that specific device, not to mention Blob galore.
>>54630776
So then what's up with Linux distros and single board computers?
>>54630736
>>54632040
ARM designs can be open when they want to be.
But they rarely want to be, and ARM's business model basically means the platform will always be fragmented and riddled with all kinds of bad proprietary shit that makes an i7 look like a Loongson.

You need to stop giving a shit about this, they won't change and you'll just get mad every time. When I have to watch shows like this with other people I just turn that part of my brain off and watch it so I don't rage. Only exception is if you're dealing with retarded friends who not only believe the show's shit IT logic but ask you to defend them from it thinking it is that legit.

>Offers it everywhere else, even in shithole countries
>Have to buy one off fleabay for $20 and hope it works.
Why do companies do this? It costs next to nothing to make a keyboard backlit, why the fuck is it not standard, or even available...

do you not know where your keys are?
Your employer doesn't provide one for you?

They have a buyer program with Dell. We pick out the laptop from some special link on the Dell site. Even on the regular site the laptop didn't have a backlit keyboard. Most of my coworkers have garbage 14" celeron inspiron. I was hoping to get at least a 15" with at least an i3, which I was able to get.
How flexible are tech companies when it comes to rescheduling job interviews? I have an interview with Google next week and gender reassignment surgery the day before, and I just found out from my doctor that I'll need a couple days to recover from the operation. Will asking to reschedule affect my chances?
Pic not really related.
I have no replies to what is arguably OPs pièce de résistance.

Im sure they would understand
Cool, so my fucking PC just upgraded itself to Windows 10 without my permission. Is there a way to revert back to Windows 7 or am I doomed to this piece of shit OS forever that I didn't even fucking ask for?

In the recovery options in settings, there should be an option to revert during the first 30 days after "upgrade"
Does iTunes tag their music files in any way? I mean, if someone buys music from iTunes, and then shares it, can iTunes figure out who the original purchaser was?
For what i know. It has DRM
>>54630452
Nobody knows, people stopped buying MP3's in 2007
Yes, they do include metadata. Yes they can figure out who the original purchaser is
>>54632083
Not anymore, but they still put your info in the metadata
I'm starting to get into mining, I'm not too worried about energy but so much has changed since I missed my change to jump on the train back around 08.
Can I join a pool with my 4770k and GTX 780 and run it 10+ hours a day or whatever and get a share for my work or have things like the Antminer, SP20 and Red Fury made it completely enviable?
Should I just hold off until I can buy one of these to mine or is it still viable to run when I'm idle?

Really? This is hardware related, not about the market.
Ok, need help from you computer savvy folks. I have a brother who plays Xbox 16 hours a day. I want to kick him off of Xbox live. I have been successful in doing so with MAC filtering, but this has proven obsolete when my brother decided to connect the Xbox One to the router via ethernet. The Xbox One acquired a new physical address after he connected via ethernet, which I added this new address to the blocked adresses on MAC filtering... but to no avail has it kicked him off. HELP
>>54630185
just block the xbox live IPs at the router level
Sorry if this is a dumb statement, but I don't know how to go about that.
>>54630185
If you are truly concerned about your brother how about you actually help him. Invite him to partake in useful activities like going to the gym with you.
If you just want to piss him off you can block outgoing packages to the xbox live servers. Blocking MAC and stuff like that would be temporary as he can spoof those.

That's because of your protectionism and high import taxes. After all we are both getting it from China and you are a lot closer to them.
If it is possible to upload mind, there are two me. A is original me.B is uploaded me.
the problem is B is now AI and A still alive or dead (because i don't want two me.only one.)
then A, I'm dead. B is gone.
Is it possible my(A) conscious move to B?
No, conciousness isn't really "real" in the sense that it's seperate from "memory". Your mind consists of everything you've experienced in the past which allows you to make decisions in the present. By copying your "mind" the new mind would be something completely seperate, it would have its own "conscious" and develope new memeries as it is now a new being. You wouldn't have any more control over it than you would with any other person.
