I'm looking to learn about neural networks and machine learning. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these and could you recommend some books, papers, or other resources to look into?

I enjoyed this one:

The Week 6 of the first course and the fifth course have a massive spike in difficulty though, so prepare by reading up on statistics and linear algebra.
Another downside is that they use a proprietary technology, although you can follow along with another framework just fine. I did the courses in Scala instead of Python and didn't particularly run into issues.

Is there a free program anywhere that would allow me to make my own app?
I dont know anything about it, but I am fairly good at excel which is where ive been making layout prototypes and I'm hoping something there can transfer over.
However if not, I was wondering if anyone here ever created an app and what the process was like? How much would it cost to have someone create the app for me? Would I have ownership of the app for having the idea and hiring or would they own the app?
I intend for it to be more of an in-company type app, but I definitely...

Ok, /G/ my friend told me a while ago that he thought of a new kind of Internet system. Basically there is a big tube under your house and going through that tunnel is lots of flash drives the pipe goes in the back of your computer and sends Internet through that by sending the packets over flash drive. So what do you think about his new solution for slow internet.
Pic unrelated
If I bother to share bait images I'd post one.
>>54655873
It could definitely be viable, but first you'd need to disable the automatic overdrive crash feature in the confabulator and maybe switch to Grade-D super packet data.
One you reroute the main server and crash the intel hotspot you can refute the power source into geosynchronous orbit.
>>54655923
Don't forget about hacking the Gibson - you'll need that to enable super elephant frames in your ethernet packets
Hey guys, I just installed Debian with XFCE for the first time and I'm eager to make the desktop I wanted on Windows.
Where can I start learning about customizing my Linux desktop?
Google. Everything on the screen has a configuration file somewhere which you can edit. If there's something else you want to add, you'll find suggestions on Google too.
>>54655778
Post something you would like to get and maybe you'll get info on how to do it or at least which software you need to use.
>>54655841
I'm really not sure what I want, other than having a darker desktop.
I think I could do without the MAC OS style dock at the bottom of the screen, and maybe put the the top panel to the bottom in its place, etc.
Does XFCE let you have widgets?

So I want to buy a Chromebook as a cheap laptop I can take with me when I don't need to take a "real" laptop. I want to keep Chrome OS but also proper Linux as well so either dual boot or chroot or whatever the current thing is (crouton still?).
The most important things are
> x86 cpu
> good screen (res not a big issue but I don't want an awful panel)
> decent keyboard

Nope. SD for expanding memory.
do mkv files generally contain the ability to output audio to a 5.1 system?
completely retarded question probably but help a retard out please. i'm getting my first house soon and i've always wanted a good receiver and speakers, but i'm not going to waste my money if none of my pirated shit will utilize it.
but mkv is just a wrapper right? i'm betting the answer to this question is going to be "depends". so... when you torrent a movie, in general, will that file be able to fully utilize 5.1?

yes

Welcome to /fglt/. We are always open to users of all levels, including absolute beginners.
There are four ways to try GNU/Linux, you can:
0) Install a GNU/Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes"
1) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full GNU/Linux experience".
2) Dual-boot GNU/Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about GNU/Linux)
3) Go balls...
