I am looking for a easy to setup chat program, that is very discreet. My class have english finals tomorrow where there is a difficult grammar part that needs to be done without any form of help.
We would like to communicate with each other, preferably without having to download anything but it is not a criteria. The software has to be discreet aswell, dont have to be much but just a bit. The exam guards are like 70 year old women.
Being able to group chat is a must

>>54702325
lol, if you're running linux use netcat to chat to each other. If your computers run windows, write quick chat server in python or java or somat.

So I awoke to see this on my computer screen. There is no option to get out of this. All the options just lead to recheduling it, not turning it off. I had to Task Manager kill these things to stop the upgrade.
Tried looking through my startup files and it doesn't list any of these exes. How do I prevent it from starting up again?
>>54702261
Install Gentoo
>>54702261
Just accept the upgrade and get it overwith

i saw someone on /g/ insist that a handful of honorary doctorates equate to a real one, as if JK Rowling's 7 doctorates should earn her almost as much esteem as a real doctorate. except in this context of course they were arguing that RMS's 12 should have additive credibility somehow.
it was the most obvious case of appeal to bandwagon that one could imagine; it was such clearly horse shit-eating apologist logic; i loved it.
maybe you're special and above all that stupid shit, but the people in these threads defending stallman are 90% retards trying...

Too long, didn't read. Assuming this is a /g/ cat thread.

Been kinda out of the loop for a few years and wanting to know about bitcoin mining.
Here are my options:
1) Mine something else other than bitcoins with a GPU
2) Mine bitcoins with a GPU
3) Mine bitcoins with one of the antminer things
4) Realize that it's not even worth mining them
You need at least four GPUs with thousands of CUDA cores for it to be profitable.
Mining is not profitable unless you have considerable capital and a way to avoid the power bill; buy and sell like any other stock.
Normalfags ruined buttcoin by making it a speculative market.

http://videocardz.com/60232/amd-radeon-r9-480-based-on-polaris-10
Polaris 10 used in r9 480/470 cards.
Note that P10 was demoed to run Hitman at 2560x1440 at 60FPS, which is 980Ti/Fury X performance, so expect it to be somewhere around there in performance, so basically it's competing with the GTX1070
That's also a really fine showing from AMD, since Polaris is a much smaller die than GP104
>>54702011
We don't know what settings were used on that demo, plus it was in an area that isn't very graphically intensive, so it really doesn't give us much of an idea of what the Polaris chip can actually do. It would be great if it was a 1070 competitor but it's still early to tell.
More lies, when do ppl will learn to use real GPU ?
Why is based hiro using 4chan to serve malware ads?
Not many other options for 4chan if he wants to make money through advertising.
How much do you think he bought the site for?
Anyone keeps getting popups? It only happened to me in friday- early sunday
Guys what's the smallest and fastest thing that'll run native Linux? I only care about small form factor, portability, full size keyboard and battery life

PCs Aren't Dying. They're Just Way Overpriced.
>worldwide PC shipments down 13 percent in the first quarter
>cost of truly gaming-changing laptops is still too damn high
>among laptops
>sales of sub-$300 systems grew by a healthy 19%
>sales of premium laptops with prices over $700 shrank by a modest 4 percent

>Every laptop over $300 should have a 1920 x 1080 screen and a solid-state drive
I think $300 is a bit cheap for having the both of those, but yeah I shouldn't have to pay over a fucking grand to get a 1080p screen.

While ssd is a meme its difficult to get decent battery life without one.
I guess i could tolerate a sketchy ssd if i had an external hdd and a script to make daily backups for me.

>difficult to get decent battery life without one
What's even considered a decent battery life these days? I've always got a plug nearby when I use my laptop so anything more than like 20 minutes is good enough for me.
Finally considering getting an SSD. How much storage do I need if I only have Win7, a coule of games (2-3 at most) and a lot of web browsing? Is 120gb enough?
Are there some good ones out there that aren't too costly? How about life expectancy? I heard they can die pretty soon.
Are they worth it?
Wait until black friday senpai

>How much storage do I need if I only have Win7, a coule of games (2-3 at most) and a lot of web browsing? Is 120gb enough?
I'd go 256gb anon. Intel or Samsung and you'll be fine for quality. Worth it? Yes.
I've thought about getting one for games and applications that would benefit from very fast I/O but am reluctant to use it for the OS itself for the reasons you stated. I intend to have the OS installed potentially for a very long time.
Guess I'd have to look into redundancy and how cell failure is handled.

How much more are Pascal cards going to cost than Polaris?
Depends on how much FP64 AMD and Nvidia will keep in Vega10/GP100 for the consumer, that will dictate pricing.
>>54701614
Interesting. Is that to protect their Quadro/Firepro pricing? My understanding is that the average consumer doesn't really need much FP64.
>>54701614
What will be the price range? If you have any idea
