How much does the ambient temperature of a room affect your computer temperatures? I just bought some blackout blinds for my bedroom, and my room has gone from about 85F/29C to 70F/21C. I'm interested to see how this will affect temperatures of my PC.
>>54704450
Ambient temperature absolutely matters, fans and heatsinks can't coo the PC to below ambient temperatures.
>>54704450
Probably lower it by about 8°C. It makes a big difference.
You might also sleep better.
You're comp can only be as cold as the surroundings
I wanna get a new graphics card in the next 1-2 months and I keep seeing opinions online that either totally shit on AMD or totally shit on Nvidia. Sometimes the pros and cons of one are the same of the other, sometimes the pros and cons are vastly different. I don't know what to believe anymore. One has shitty drivers, the other gimps their cards. One has worse architecture, the other has shitty business practices. Some say I should wait for the new ones, others say ignore the new ones. I just need some actual, preferably objective perspective. What is it with AMD cards...

What's your budget?
>>54704344
It's over, Nvidia is finished and bankrupt
>>54704362
Oh damn I forgot to mention that. $300 for the card is my upper limit.
Hey /g/
Which is the current best browser for privacy (Doesn't need to be preset)
And which Ad-block Extension to be used with it.
Pic related, Firefox Nightly.
>>54704221
lynx
it doesn't even need ad-block
>>54704221
Why would you care about privacy whilst you're on Windows 10?
>>54705011
Going to switch to a Linux distro soon.
If you had $1000 to make a computer for music production what would it consist of? New to this board and I'm not tech smart; sorry in advance.

Get a mac, it's the industry standard.
>>54704031
>$1000 to make a computer
get a job you poorfag piece of shit
How could I get my hands on this case? It's everything I'm looking for and I'm willing to pay extra for shipping.
I've seen it rebranded a from different companies, so it might be the Myriad TMH01, CFI-A5000, or the JMAX JX-FM500B
Have you tried ebay?
Interested as well. Bump.
>>54703894
I don't necessarily need this case, but I would like something similar. MicroATX mobo support, backplane with up to 6 hot swappable drive bays, small form factor, and can use a regular size power supply.
Did anyone snatch a free Oneplus Loop today?
Sadly no.
Read the fucking mail three hours too late. How long did they last anyway?
>>54704034
They were gone after a couple hours I think
How is this different than a normal phone VR headset?
Is anything other than QWERTY a meme?
>>54703778
Went to Paris one, computer at the hotel lobby had a Azerty keyboard, i think they use it in 2 or 3 more countries than that. Other than regionals (chinese, japanese, arabic, etc) is indeed a meme.
>>54703859
French anon here. I agree, Azerty is the worst, and even the worst for French (compared to bepo and all). Qwerty master race, especially for programming. Y'a know, doing shift+[ instead of Alt-Gr + 4
>>54703778
Dvorak is easy on the fingers. It's just that most keyboards ship in qwerty by default.

Can these guy be trusted? Apparently you can get a user account for a browser extension, new to me. That struck me as kinda weird.

What did 3dmark mean by this?

It means is anyone bought the titan they've been shagged from the back
>>54703271
1070 is finished.
Polaris 10 competes with 1070 for sure now.
Polaris 11 will be better than 980 and close to Fury and be around $150-200.
>>54703444
Titan buyers were already cucked by the 980ti and fury. Crossfire is a meme anyway
Is it safe and worth it to install arch on my 2012 MacBook? Will the touchpad still be flawless?
>>54703199
>is it safe?
Yes. There are a plethora of guides to make it happen
>worth it?
I don't know, I've mainly seen detailed guides for Debian/Ubuntu, but the Arch wiki seems to have something about it.
>touchpad be flawless?
No. Don't even have a hope of it. It'll be very usable, but not as good as OSX
>replace real UNIX that's optimized for the system with some Pajeet tier hacky OS so you can feel like a 1337 hacker

What so people have against NumLock?
I need a few clover users to confirm something for me. If I'm in a thread and hit the home button and later I reopen the app again, doesn't it open up at the last spot I left it? It is now going back to the home board by default and I don't recall this happening before I installed the latest v2.1.3 from fdroid. Did it always do this?
Keep pressing the back button until clover is fully closed. It's a bug in android when you open an app from the app install screen by clicking "open"
Thanks man, I thought I was going crazy.
>>54703055
Hey floens, I have an issue. I have on v2.13, I think. Well anyways, doesn't let me add all boards like /pol/ and etc
