At what age did you grow out of linux and start getting work done?
>>54760362
the same age i installed windows 10
>>54760362
never used linux but ive heard its full of nerds and losers who have nothing to do but tweak with configuration files
>>54760362
Your right. Linux is stupid and over-complicated. Companies would never pay people to learn that garbage, let alone use that when they have Windows Server. Linux isn't even used by companies! If everyone just switched to MAC, we could all be happy.
Alright /g/, I've got a challenge for you:
I've got 3 months to write a thesis paper for my bachelors. The ONLY guidance provided is that it covers ANY aspect of cyber security.
Desperately looking for a topic that isn't already taken by everyone else (AKA Ransomware) and is actually fucking interesting.
Best comment wins consumes the next 3 months of my life.

>>54760286
>not waiting till 10 THz.
Pleb, just keep throwing your money away, in 6 months the depreciation on that thing could have paid for all you can eat pizza rolls every day. Not to mention the failure rates of like 10% per year.
My TRS80 is still working fine. Why the fuck would I need new shit?
>>54760286
Not me,I wait for polaris,I use single screen so it hold more efficiency to buy new mid+ card every 3-4years
So /g/
Suppose the police want to see what's on your phone, and you're forced to comply by court order or something.
Is it possible to have multiple partitions etc such that upon viewing the lock screen, you can enter one of two codes, which each code unlocking a different partition?
In which case you can still comply with the court order/whatever, but simultaneously keep whatever you'd like hidden?
depends on exactly what the court order says
but in theory, this is possible, of course. why would it not be?
>>54760245
if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear
>>54760316
well memed, my friend!
What applications does /g/ have installed on their phone!?
AnkiDroid for kanji
Clover for 4chan
Dimmer for using my phone at night
Expense IQ for tracking expenses
F-Droid for open source applications
FBreader for reading .epubs
Firefox + uBlock Origin for web browsing
K-9 Mail for emails
Mango for reading manga, I download them on my desktop then use it to read them because I can use the volume buttons to turn pages. Tachiyomi is cool but I want to read my own stuff too.
MuPDF for PDFs
Old version of QuickPic. Leafpic is okay but I need...

>Monitors the way you typically use your phone
>Instead of asking for a password, the phone might analyse your face, your voice, how you type, how you swipe, how you move and where you are.
>All of these bits of data are fed into the API, which then generates a 'trust score' which indicates how likely it is that it's actually you carrying the phone.
>The testing phase will begin soon, but Google's Dan Kaufman said it should be available to every Android developer by the end of the year if all goes well - meaning the days of having to remember multiple passwords for different accounts and devices might soon be over.
>end of the year

Please tell me this isn't real. And if it is, would the majority of people really want something like this?

Hey /g/uys,
Trying to escape the NEET lifestyle after being unplugged for awhile, I have an HTC M8 (Verizon, locked) and a Droid Incredible (S-off, root access)
What's the cheapest service I can get to bring one of these phones back online? All I need is the ability to receive phone calls, so the places I apply can have a number to call me (or not) at.
I have been considering unlocking the M8, but I know there can be complications on some networks, or the phone can end up bricked, and the D-inc is surprisingly usable. (removable batteries ftw)
Gonna bump with some cool images I collected in my un-time, any help would be appreciated!
Does /g/ have stickers on their laptops?

I figure while the botnet is free, I should save up some keys to use in the distant future. I was thinking of installing Windows 10 to virtualbox/VMware, updating and activating it, snagging the key, then wiping it. Rinse and repeat.
Is this a bad idea?
Will it work?
I know jack shit about 10 and haven't cared to upgrade since 7. I know I'll want 10 in the distant future (~2+ years?) for gaming purposes. (i.e. when games actually start using DX12 and onward).

It's 2016, why aren't you programming functionally yet?

Because I'm not a fucking faggot and have at least a little bit of self respect.
Is there any windows software you guys use in particular that can sync music to an ipod instead the clunky piece of shit that is iTunes?
I don't even use the library, I just need to sync muh tunes.
I remember in linux I could do it, but not sure about windows.

Complete piece of shit, especially the sensor. Returned mine after 3 days. Get a Logitech g502 or something from Zowie.
