Lets say I wire up some components and I end up building a smartphone. Would it be legal to sell it?
>>54785806
Yes.
>>54785806
You'll need to fill a lot of paperwork.
But after, yes, it would be legal. Otherwise no.
if it abides by FCC frequency laws and junk then sure why not
/greetings getooman. Could we have a VPN thread? I have seen loads of VPN starting from 3$ to 15$ per month. And they all basically claim to keep no logs.
Which is your VPN or your "wannabe" VPN?
Private internet access is the one I use
>>54785395
I use Private Internet Access. Hulu and Netflix can detect it though (._. )
>>54785395
I mostly dont use it and if I do need to use it, my seedbox provider includes simple vpn in the seedbox package.
How large should I make Ubuntu partition, I have a 1TB drive, and will be using Linux as main OS, Windows 10 will be there for any games and applications that do not run on Linux like Photoshop, Word 2013, and etc.
I want to be able to keep a few games, and applications on the Linux partition.
Another question are drivers, I know that Ubuntu installs them automatically, but I want good/newest drivers for my GTX 970.
Thanks guys.
Bump
I just installed Ubuntu alongside Windows Boot Loader. Did I fuck this up? My W10 is working properly and I want to get introduced to Linux.. But I don't know what I'd have to do to if I decided to uninstall Ubuntu...
>>54785783
Naw man I doubt that you messed anything up the process is pretty darn simple. If you wanna delete Ubuntu you could always just delete the partition.
Do you think the new high-end Xbox ("Scorpio") will run full desktop Windows 10?
It would make a ton of sense. Microsoft has had success with the x86 Surface Pro, it would be a logical progression to make a small form factor desktop PC ala the Mac Mini, and they obviously can't use the Surface brand for a home PC. The hardware overlap between a modern console and a PC is basically 100% these days too.
I can't see many people buying a $500+ powerful mid-generation console, but a $500+ general-purpose PC, why not?
>>54785351
>>/v/
>>54785445
My point is that it would be more of a computer than a standard console. Not sure if they'll let you run gentoo on it, though.
>>54785526
If you install gentoo on it, Bill Gates comes to your house and fucks you!
>Can't properly resume from hibernate most of the time

Why would anyone use Linux on a desktop/laptop system? It's stuck...

Linux is made for servers and old shitty thinkpads that can't run a real OS
>Can't properly resume from hibernate most of the time
what do you mean, works on my machine
>Can't do multi-monitor setups with different DPIs
works on my machine
>Can't do wireless failover
sounds like a security feature
>Can't do proper multitouch on trackpads, only a bad approximation using synaptics which simply counts the fingers but doesn't distinguish them
Who cares?
>>54785353
If you run Windows on a chinkpad you're going to get Lenovo's self-reinstalling hidden-in-BIOS adware. Also, Thinkpads are about the only laptops that still come without a dual-GPU setup, which you wouldn't be able to use under Linux anyway.
PRIME situation on Linux:
>nvidia: vsync completely broken, tearing and applications relying on vsync (video players, notification indicator spinners and other Qt animation stuff) run at maximum speed instead of at display sync...

I am about to start reading SICP in order to join the Lisp circlejerk and become a wizard. What is the least bloated Scheme interpreter for Wangblows? I am looking for something as simple as whatever Harold Abelson uses in his lectures (https://youtu.be/2Op3QLzMgSY?t=2135).
you will have a better time using DrRacket, it has the sicp lang implementation as well

I already tried it and it’s way too bloated. It takes 38 seconds to launch and it takes almost as much RAM as Pale Moon.

i work from home, sitting at my desk for 8+ hours a day on a cheapo office chair and it's fuckawful
is there a good guide on monitor/desk/chair/keyboard placement to make my back suffer less?
also, what is an affordable go-to chair, i've heard mesh ones are good
>>54784651
Consider a standing desk with a nice foam mat and some good supportive shoes. Otherwise, if you're dead set on a chair, then yes there are guides.
OSHA (I think it's OSHA) has a rating system for chairs based on the number of hours a person sits in it daily. You want a 10+ hour rated chair. It will cost you, though.
>>54784651
I know your feel OP.
my current chair is murdering my back, and I don't really know why. I used to have a flat-back chair that felt okay on my back, but the the back of it couldn't move forward or backward, and the thing that made it move up and down broke. Anyone know of a chair with similar price and adjustment options that you don't think will kill my back?
