>>54791108
That's no Aero, that's the basic theme. Also your fault for using that garbage OS.
GPU just died.
Can't seem to resolve it. Guess it's dead?
Do I buy a non-reference 1070, or wait for R9 490X?

Best starting tutorial for Racket?
Bump
Gonna put it out there that I started Realm of Racket and I'm not that fond of it, it's literally made by first year students and it's sort of amateurish and not great at explaining important concepts.

What's the point of spending $17,000 on a UPS?
>>54790847
there is none, for that kind of dosh you could get a backup generator and an automatic turn on in case of a power outage, and after that any cheap ass battery back up will be enough to get you through the switchover
>>54790847
>17000
My best guess is that they don't know any better.
For 17k, you could make your own solar powered battery bank out of lifepo batteries, and have enough power to power anything you need.

I was browsing files using Nemo on Ubuntu as a superuser and I deleted a ~4GB folder. It deleted itself in an instant, with no wait time, which surprised me. The problem is, that after it got deleted, there is no more free space on my partition than there was before.
Any ideas what have happened and how can I fix it?

what do?
Why does my SDcard on my android phone show up as blank? I formatted it to FAT32 after backing up the files on it. It shows up on its own and with a micro SD adapter (using a reader) on my laptop.
I had received the phone as a hand me down from two years ago and I think the slot itself is messed up.
Every single time i turn my PC on.

Normies will never use Linux, all this does is piss off actual linux users
>tray icons on the bottom left in a panel
>no custimization, have to install "extensions" for everything which can break
>gtk3 programs look like fucking smartphone apps on any DE
>adwaita cursors are now part of the adwaita-icons package, can't remove it or it will break anything gtk
Fuck them.
Yeah I know, it sucks. Gnome 2 was actually pretty good. Gnome 3 is just awful.
These days I use XFCE, but I still use some old gnome programs. Thank goodness for projects like Mate for keeping the old, sanely designed versions of gnome programs like 'gedit' alive.
I hope everyone will stop using GTK and port their programs to Qt instead. They're totally ruining everything.
Am i making a mistake?

Ethernet over power line is total fail.
It's time to move to power over ethernet. Using the ethernet port instead allows for far greater bandwidth.

Whatcha doin with zfs?
noob question
is it possible to run a program (that requires to be installed) from a usb flash drive?
>>54790475
Most OS will require some form of authentication input even for autorun.exe, unless the user is a winfag who has checked that "always do this for this kind of device" and selected execute the autorun, then whatever you put in that will execute. For superior OS like linux that faggotry won't work.
>>54790475
Further explanation:
I have admin privileges to a couple of pcs (running windows &)
These pcs get reset every day (not my call though), so everything gets deleted
Installed these programs would be a pain in the ass: id have to download them and install them every day
I thought, that maybe I run them from a us flash drive and skip the downloang/installed process
