All that meta data tho
Vector looks pretty neat, especially in comparison to

Any downsides, other than the usual (that being that nobody uses cool stuff)?
Hey /g/ I'm currently going to ITT Tech and taking C Programming. We need to come up with a small project for a program and not sure what to do. Any ideas on what I can/should do?
>ITT tech
you can turn in a gift-wrapped box filled with feces and they'll still give you an A.
>>55570066
A fractal plotter. Make it generate random fractals using the generalized Newton method. Use ASCII art or use some gnuplot API to plot them.

Alright guys im going to be travelling to china soon for a few months and i will be taking my laptop, problem is due to my particular nationality the customs or watever will want to privatley inspect the files on my laptop by and will most definitley put a trojan on there to monitor me/ do whatever other things
is there a way i can somehow bypass this?
Putting a password/encrypting it is out of the question as they will force me give access to the laptop, if i dont they will confiscate it.
reinstalling windows once im in the country also wont work as i will need to put all my files onto a seperate drives and they inspect all forms of portable technology
What can I do about this /g/?
TrueCrypt hidden volumes?

>TrueCrypt hidden volumes
Can I hide an entire operating system and later boot to it with this?
Put the data you don't want them to see on high capacity micro-sd cards. Smuggle them in like drug dealers.
(Yes, you have to put them in a condom and swallow them)
Whats the lightest and fastest browser, /g/?
Good if free (as in freedom)
Picture not related
Vivaldi is by far the best browser.

is it lightweight on resources?

Firefox if you know how to configure it.

It should be illegal to not include the camera in thickness measurements.

They should just release a thicker version with the excuse that its for the battery.
http://www.tweaktown.com/news/52996/nvidia-culls-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-arrive-1050-december/index.html
Thoughts? It is the logical approach honestly, but I don't expect nvidia actually doing it.
As far as I can tell there never was a 3GB 1060, that was just a rumor. It was always only 6GB
>>55570301
Afaik it was leaked afterwards, but apparently it's more than a "1060 with half the memory". Less cuda cores, disabled sm unit, and the like.
If this is true, my bet is its performance is below what nvidia expected, and probably has trouble keeping up with the 480 and 6gb 1060, so putting it one tier below seems like a logical choice
>>55570516
It's just a 1050, the 3GB was never a 1060

Some info about me:
I have a 2 year diploma in Networking and Systems.
I can work at any entry level helpdesk/noc job
Also worth mentioning that in my country the University courses are sponsored by the government which means no debt
This depends on
1. Wether you want to study a few years for a degree. During this time you'll likely not have time for a full time job if you're planning to study full time.
2. Wether the degree is worth it. You have to view it on the long run. How much extra will you have earned in 5 years after you've graduated, ect. And do you want a job that is propably more challenging and carrying more responsibilty than the job you can get right now?
Think about it carefully, hell, go to an open day or contact the uni if you want to know more about your...

It depends, can you get experience while youre in school?
A degree may not affect your ability to break into the field, rather be your upper ceiling. A management position could be filled from within, and by someone with no degree and just experience...but its more likely that someone will have some sort of bachelors degree at least.
>>55569817
Thanks for the honest reply. It's rare nowadays on this sub.
Regarding point 1:
True. I might only be able to find a shitty part time job that is completely unrelated to my field or end up working as an intern for 3 months during the summer time.
I guess it a matter of investing time at this point.
Regarding point 2:
I definitely don't want to be stuck in helpdesk or tier 1 jobs forever.
That's exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm on 4chan to kill time and maybe...

>he isn't learning the programming language of the future
Obviously SML is the language of the future.
Every language is just slowly trying to become SML.
So you should simply switch to programming in SML now.

On a different note, is Haskell still compiled to a C-like language before being compiled into machine code?
Why is macbook shilled so much when there are clearly better alternatives, and better looking alternatives available?

>>55569580
you need to be at least 18 to use this website.
Is 16:10 still worth it in the days of 4k?
1920x1200 that is
>>55569519
It's a little bit more working room so yes. It will always be worth it for that reason IMO.
You're not talking about as an only monitor though, right?
>>55569524
Yes. It's very close to the "Golden" aspect ratio.
Since you're going to be scaling 4K screens most of the time you're still missing out on that vertical real estate.
