Went onto my Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) partition, downloaded Virtualbox and downloaded the sites pre-configured Kali Linux majigger for Virtualbox. Used it, only got as far as scanning the ports of the correct ip, and finding all the ports were open.

Use nmap to get more information. You can use nmap to detect some vulnerable programs along with some os fingerprinting capabilities. nmap may also reveal that
you may have to download some config files to do this, though i believe much of that is included with the standard nmap installation and probably moreso with the kali's repos' installation
Further, use metasploit and/or similar tools to perform further vulnerability checks and attempt exploitation.

Hey /g/eeks, recently I was given a lot of 80's-90s computers and in the pile this IBM 8514, which, on the outside looked in great shape, but when I tested it out, I noticed some issues.
Now, I know that you're not supposed to ask for tech support on /g/ but I was hoping this could be an exception on account of this being a pretty unique and cool piece of old-tech, and that most people on /wsr/ are idiots.
As you can see in pic related there is some strange purple discoloration on one half of the screen and horizontal streaks anywhere there is an area...

- Page load times.
- "YouTube ads" are basically useless excuses now. You're either smart or dumb enough to not download YouTube videos and watch them in your preferred qualities and resolutions in your preferred media player(s) and likely dumb enough to not have autoplay disabled somehow. YouTube Red is basically YouTube ad-free, you've no excuse to even use your ad blocker here anymore.
