Has anyone here ever tried these?

I've been thinking about making these and pistols and sprints my leg training. i went to feel athletic again and i feel that squats and deadlifts (conventional) are too taxing to be able to benefit from both them and athletic training

it's just a deadlift with sumo mixed-grip?

much more narrow stance

that's just because his femurs are long, so that stance width works for him.
to be honest, i don't really see how this is a "new" exercise. it's just a deadlift variation and negatives. negatives are great, don't get me wrong, but they're not new.
if you want to be athletic, weightlifting isn't the right direction. running, swimming etc, more cardio stuff. weightlifting is about maximum power in short bursts, not about endurance.
if you want to look better, then you can do some lighter deadlifts and squats for hypertrophy instead. maybe those won't be too taxing?

>that's just because his femurs are long
actually in the t naiton article he states its different from sumo.

weightlifting is commonplace in athletic training, though.
>not about endurance
"athletic" doesn't mean only endurance - sprinters don't do endurance for example.
Weightlifting is itself an olympic sport, so it is by definition athletic although I understand athletic has connotations of a well-rounded athlete although that includes strength as one of its aspects.

you're right, i guess i just have a twisted image of what someone means when they say "athletic". i think of some lithe runner, which athlete encompasses way more of course.
>>36629524
exactly. im not looking for strict endurance i want a blend of speed agility and strength.
size is not an issue either btw, naturally big legs.
>>36629548
What about explosive power? Maybe you've considered it already, but explosive olympic movements (clean & jerk, snatch) are used by athletes a lot if I remember rightly.

i o lifted for a year. had a 100 kg c&j and 73 kg snatch before i switched to more conventional training

It's just a medium sumo stance deadlift bro. It's like what Ed coan did.
