okay so. i wanna join the army.
and i wanna get fit. but honestly i dont know what boot camp and all of the exercise shit is like.

so im a female, 5'5, 150 pounds.
i can lift 110pounds. and i run/walk til i burn 500 calories. a day. (i started doing this last week)

my endurance isnt the greatest. i can run half a mile at a time. and after awhile my ankles hurt like a bitch.

ive been eating 1500 calories a day at the most. i eat fairly healthy alot of fish and chicken and veggies.

so whats the army like. think ill be able to keep up?
i say i have about 6 months time to prepare.

and what would be a good exercise routine?

Basic training is a breeze. I graduated from Fort Jackson last Summer which is probably the least physically strenuous place you can be sent. Even if you're not fit they'll make you fit, but if you want to stand out and be a PT stud you just need to do the basics. Try doing 100 push ups on one, 100 situps on the next day, and run 3 miles on the third day. That should get you in solid shape.

Don't listen to this guy. I have no idea what tactical barbell 2 is but everything you do at Basic Training is going to be bodyweight stuff and the best way to get good at bodyweight stuff is (big surprise) doing bodyweight exercises not barbell exercises. From a quick google it looks like tactical barbell is some gimmicky workout book marketed to civilians who want to be BADASS AIRBORNE NAVY SEAL FOXHOUND PURPLE BERET OPERATORS. Don't waste your time on that bullshit, just practice the shit you'll actually be tested on.

Calisthenics and cut down brah. Not in the army but the guys I know who are, aren't big unless they are on roids. It's a lot of conditioning so staying lean and inshape is most important.

You're already fit enough. The PT standards are laughable. In push-ups and run, if you even make that male minimum you get max points. I think it's like 19 push-ups to pass or some shit. BCT/AIT aren't too bad but every unit I've been to runs way more often than we derive any benefit from but what ever, I'm getting out this June
