NEW STICKY http://4chanfit.wikia.com/wiki//sig/_sticky

How have you improved yourself this week/month/year? Lifting isn't life, a well-balanced human being is productive, has hobbies, pushes him/herself to succeed, is charismatic, and strives to live the best life they can. Share your successes, failures, methods, and everything in between.

The sticky is divided like so:
>Recommended Readings.
>Some tips to get your life back on track.
>Study and Career.
>To-do list habit.rpg (If you’re lost. Start here)
>Focus and meditation
>Finance

Basic Recommendations:
>Have a productivity Framework that is flexible. A mindset that gets you going.
>Use a calendar, like google calendar. Hours and shit for things YOU WILL DO.
>Learn to focus.
>Meditate.
>Do routines for things you should do periodically/daily, this should cover daily things or weekly chores such as laundry, cleaning, shopping.
>Identify and Eliminate conflicts within yourself.
>Focus on identifying the time wasters in your life and eliminate them.
>Focus on the essentials. If you try to do everything at once you’ll burnout. Little by little.

Material reading can be tricky. There will be trash here and there as we're not /lit/.

But we have to trust others.
Image related has a detailed list that an Annon provided on a thread a while back. If you got time to kill, click on the image, and read the descriptions

As time goes, the /SIG/ has had a couple of books recommended. I’ve done my best to try to get talks of the authors of such books so you can get a ‘piece’ before you commit.

Google a bit about the book, if you think you can get something out of it, watch the talk.
In my opinion, try getting the books “for free”.
If you read it and get something out of it, consider paying for the book.

>Freedom is having control of your life

You should at least have 3 hobbies/activities.
-One that will pay the bills, gets food on your table
-One that will keep you in shape. (lower you faggot)
-One that you're passionate about and might be able to develop into a career.
--------

If you're into lifting, taking the tips to better yourself should be simple; as you already have built some self-discipline.

Make peace with yourself and the way things are right now.
Stop thinking the world owes you, how destiny ‘fucked you over’, how those guys have it easier.
Accept things as they are, realize that life is cruel and your circumstances are the ones you were given. You can’t do shit about the starting point, but you can move forward.

Don’t focus in what was given to you, focus in what you’ll achieve.

Eliminate the things you dislike about yourself, about your life. Is as simple as, do you enjoy your job? No? Take steps to change the feeling.
How are you gonna make that? You either make your job more enjoyable, or you change jobs. Simple.
You want a girl? how do you plan to achieve that? Are you too socially inept? Work on that.
Are you piss poor and can’t afford a decent living? Work on that too.

No matter who you are, where you are in your life, or how fucked up you think you are.
You can improve your life. Take control. Move forward.
Dreams keeps us alive, fighting for them makes us feel alive.
About 5-7 years ago, I was a fucking train-wreck.
Right now, I'm doing fairly well.

Get some discipline, set some goals and a way to achieve them.
Cultivate yourself, learn stuff, get your shit together.

And realize, understand. None is coming to save you.
You got to make your way through.
You NEED to take CONTROL.

If you're still in School. For fuck sake pay attention.

MORE than half of actually doing good in school is attending, the other half is paying attention in class. So then do it.
Or stop it altogether.
If you’re in college and you’re not feeling it, take a semester to think things through.
If you’re in high school, don’t think YOU NEED to enter college to be successful. There are other ways…
Google just started hiring people who never went to college.
WATCH this talk:

Some learning resources, focusing in code since I’m an ‘IT’ guy:
>duolingo.com
First and foremost. Free language learning tool with a really robust app. THIS IS A MUST. Learning a new language will help you out no matter who you are.
>codeacademy.com
Teaches you the basics, from the ground up.
>codeschool.com/
Similar to codeacademy.
>youtube.com/user/thenewboston
Personal favorite. This guy step by step, learns a shit-ton of programing languages. Give this a check and start watching something you’re interested in.
>codeeval.com
This one I really like, once you get your shit going, it puts you ‘objectives’ to solve through code, last batch are really complex.
>coursera.org
It’s a really nice online-course platform. There are really good things here as well.
>openprocessing.org / processing.org / codepen.io
These sites display some really cool stuff, where you can also check the source code and modify it to see what happens.

As for career options.
Choose anything you want, If you want to go into Philosophy or Social studies, That's fucking great. As long as you’re passionate about it, you’ll find a way.
You can always become a teacher or a writer.

BUT BE FUCKING AWARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING MONEY. Don't get a loan to study shit that will be expensive to repay.

Other than that, don't enter into something soulless just because 'I'll get money'.
You only got one life, don’t waste it doing something you hate.

You must have a to-do list, it's pretty essential.
As for which, there are several options
Google Keep, Evernote or whatever suits you.

But currently I suggest you use:
https://habitrpg.com/
There’s even a /fit/ guild created to keep us in check.
https://habitrpg.com/#/options/groups/guilds/eeb30614-2936-4f1c-9713-117248d10149

It’s certainly geeky as fuck. But Gamification has been proven to work when applied to certain aspects of human psyche. Helps you stay in check and keeping your eyes on the trophy.

Stupid trivial things I used to do, I stopped once I placed them as ‘Bad habits’.
It also has a mobile app, while it’s a bit limited and on construction, it is free.

There are three main categories.
>Habits. These are things you do by impulse, not under a schedule. Can be good or bad.

+Go for a jog
+Sleep early/on time Sun-Thu
+Walk the dog
+Go for a ride
+Cook something new
+Go out and socialize
+Spend time at the shelter

-Smoke
-Drink soda
-Drink beers
-Eat Junk/Dirty bulk
-Stay up late Sun-Thu
-Fap [?]
-Play 1.5+ Hours vidya a day
-Shitpost

>Dailies are things you ALWAYS do. Every day or certain days of the week. Planned, they are only good.

+Lift (m - w - f)
+Eat your macros(daily)
+Buy Groceries (Sa)
+Read 30 min (daily)
+Practice the Guitar 30 Min(daily)
+Study Video Editing 40 Min (daily)
+Cook (We, Sa)
+Do your daily points in duolingo

>To-Do are, well, things you must do. You can have a checklist within one To-Do.

()Fix the shelf
()Go to the post office and send the package
()Buy the ticket to the concert
()Pay the landlord
()Organize my trip to the moon
—()Get the rocket tickets
—()Get the reservation for the moon Hostel
—()Buy some moonars to have some local money
—()Buy a map of moon city

Seeing the numbers go up (or health go down) is a weird sort of motivation. I can vouch for it. Give it a try, if you have no idea where to start, This is a good one.

Fill your bad habits, put the to-do’s and take it from there.

Meditation and focus is still under construction.
So is Finance for that matter.

But, For finance, there are some tips and tricks from FinanceBrah:
-----
To get started, you obviously need to get an income sorted, now, there are 2 main ways to make money, work for somebody else, or earn money yourself.

Working for somebody else is self explanatory, you go out and get a job, busting your balls, normally for peanuts if you don't have a great career, and doing that day after day, year after year. Is this always a bad thing? No, most people start here in fact, it tends to be a good, at least consistent way to make money. People do it there whole lives, and that's up to them.

BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, I DON'T WANT TO BE BUSTING MY BALLS TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE A LOAD OF MONEY, I hear you say.

Earning money for yourself.

Again, there are two ways to do this. Firstly, is ACTIVELY earning it, creating a business, that you work at and it provides you with profit, and PASSIVELY earning it, meaning you put money you already have to work.

I can't possible cover off every single way to actively make money in 1 post, but if it interests you, look into it. You can start an online business while you already have a job, if you still want the security. You can start a side gig on the weekends, you can import and sell at markets or online. You can jack it all in, and start a physical business (please don't do that without serious thought) Actively earning money is one of the most rewarding things you can do, IMHO

>Earning online

>Low start up cost businesses/part time
http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/201588
http://www.thesimpledollar.com/50-side-businesses-you-can-start-on-your-own/

There are hundreds of articles out there, have a look, see what you think, and do your research.

1425176923363.jpg
944 KB, 1345x1450
BUT SHIT FINANCEBRAH, NOW I'M EARNING ALL THIS MONEY, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT, SHOULD I BUY A FERRARI?

You save it, live within your means, don't go into high interest debt, keep your expenses as low as possible, the more you save, the more you can put to work, and the more you can earn without lifting a finger.
Passively earning money.
I like to call this putting your money to work for you, money you saved, investing it, and getting a return on it.

I CAN MAKE MONEY WITHOUT WORKING FINANCEBRAH? ARE YOU FOR REAL.

Yes. This is how most people become wealthy, saving money, and getting a big return on it. But how do you do that? Again, there are hundreds of ways. As a general rule, the higher the risk, the higher the reward. What you invest in depends on your investment strategy, including what return you want, and what risk you're willing to take.

http://www.wikihow.com/Create-an-Investment-Plan

Read it and create one, it should tie in to your long term goals.
Again, too many different kind of investments to cover in one post, here is a good overview of them.
http://www.investopedia.com/university/20_investments/

This is the risk order:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risk%E2%80%93return_spectrum

I personally prefer Real estate, forex trading, and stocks. There is so much information out there, I can just encourage you to read and learn as much as possible. See what suits your life and where you live.

FINANCEBRAHS RULES ON HOW TO BE FINANCIALLY SMART

>PAYING OFF HIGH INTEREST DEBT IS THE BEST FORM OF SAVING THERE IS, payday loans first, credit cards, ect.
>NEVER GO INTO DEBT TO BUY THINGS THAT DEPRECIATE, IF YOU CAN MANAGE IT
>LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. THE BRAND NAME BAKED BEANS COME AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK
>AVOID ALL LATE PENALITIES ON DEBT
>BUDGET WISELY

and the most important one.
TRY AND SAVE SOMETHING EVERY PAY PERIOD. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS $1, SET A GOAL OF HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO SAVE AND FUCKING HIT IT, PUT IT INTO AN ACCOUNT TO BE USED ONLY FOR INVESTING.

So financebrah as I was saying in previous thread about freemasonry, what would we doing most specifically?

Is it just a bunch of men hanging out together? What is the common thing that draws everyone together?

It seems interesting but I'm just a little confused by the vagueness. I'm not sure if I have the right idea in my head or if it's something a bit different.
>>
>>31293738
I did get it. It felt more like if I didn't put the money, I wouldn't force myself enough to go to the gym. If I spent $10 on the gym and $30 on whey, I'd be like, "eh, I don't lose that much if I don't go/use it". But if I spend $100+ I'm going to force myself to do it, even if I hate it.
>>
Interesting stuff thanks
>>
>>31293778
well i guess if you have to force yourself like that... It's just painful to see someone wasting money like that though

You normally go to lodge night once a month, initiate new candidiates, have presentations from older members or vistors. Your lodge might visit others lodges. >The New Member
>Another great benefit of Masonic membership is Masonry’s universality. No matter where a Mason goes in the United States, or in most other countries, he is never far from a Masonic lodge. The lodge is a home away from home for countless Masons who would otherwise on many occasions be extremely lonely. An American member can feel at home, for example, in a French or a German lodge, although he may not understand a word that is spoken. The ritual will differ in some respects from nation to nation, even from state to state, but the teachings and the basics will be the same. And the all-important fellowship is ever present. Lodges go to great lengths in making welcome a visitor from far away.

>Few things can be more valuable to a Mason than the friendships he establishes in Freemasonry. It is said of the fraternity that it “conciliates true friendship among those who otherwise might have remained at a perpetual distance,” and few truer statements were ever made. Extremely shy individuals, men that previously found it difficult to mix with others, have been known to establish friendships by the score upon becoming Masons. Time after time, Freemasonry has demonstrated its ability to bring together and unite men who would have otherwise been forever separated. The unique bonds of the fraternity are invaluable to its members.

Is this really true? Do other masons feel like brothers?
>>
>>31293952

For when you get back but what is the general political view of your mason lodge?

The only way I can sleep is when I'm so tired that I can't even formulate thoughts in my mind. This usually happens 2 or 3 hours before I need to get up and go to class and as a consequence of this, I've skipped a lot of classes because I'm terrible at waking up if I've had a shitty sleep.
It's really ruining my life, any advice you guys can give me?

writing
I'm working on a story now and trying to decide if I want to turn it into a screenplay or a book.
I also plan on building my portfolio by writing articles for some small media sites if I can on the side
>>

There you go, you've answered your own question anon! I'm not familiar with the steps to become a writer, but just set that as your long term goal, set smaller goals to get you there, and youll be there in no time.

How did you guys decide what you wanted to do as a career?

I've never really had any interests other than vidya and im getting bored of that now, left school at 16 with only GCSE's (high school diploma for ameritards).

It's been five years and i still dont know what to do.
>>
>>31298078
I find that I sleep a lot better after having a productive day. Obviously exercising helps you feel fatigued, but I find when I set my head on my pillow and I have had a day that I have put to good use, my mind is more at rest and I can drift away easily.

I also feel rested the next day when this is the case, even if don't get a full 8 hours.

I tried a shit ton of different things, read about lots of things, and finally decided on a few things i want to do with life.

Can't I just meditate with closed eyes? What is the difference?

I get extremely distracted when staring at the same spot for some time, the image burns into my eyes (we all know this) and the tiniest movement distracts me.
>>
>>31300522

That's decent, you'll be making some sweet bank with that too.
>>
>>31300644
I meditate with closed eyes and most of the people I know do it that way as well. I've tried opening my eyes in longer meditation sessions and it is an interesting experience so whatever floats your boat.

I recommend you this guided meditation by Sam Harris:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OboD7JrT0NE

You start with your eyes closed but at some moment in the meditation he tells you to open your eyes. It is a pretty cool meditation, check it out.

Try looking at it as a workout and leave your ego at the door when you're trying to improve, especially social skills. Not trying to sugar coat it, you're going to feel pretty terrible the first days or even months and in order to improve socially you'll have to drag yourself from the comfort zone.
That doesn't mean you need to do retarded stuff but you'll definitely need to do things you normally don't do and do them regularly because falling off the wagon is pretty easy and you don't want to start over and over again.

Good luck anon

Don't look at it as wasted youth. I tend to think that everything happens for a reason, either for you to learn a lesson or to test you life values.
Everything that has happened in your life leads to this very moment, you wouldn't have this drive to change if you hadn't experience all those moments in the past. If you actually want your past to mean something, start working in the present you have.

Read Eckart Tolle's books, they're a bit new age but their deeper meaning might get you.

>overlogical
I really don't think that it's a thing.

Anyway, most people here are trying to stabilize their lives and better themselves, it's just as valid of a goal as having fun. The reason why your advice doesn't help too much is because it's basically "don't be afraid, learn X, do X", without any advice on how to. If you didn't know how to do it yourself, you would not be able to "just do it", don't you think?

Also, this "overlogical" process helps people ground them in reality, so they could maybe one day just leave the world behind and live in woods. Because if you still have your shitty job that you don't care about, all those minor spontaneous things don't help, and I wouldn't really call it much of a freedom.

Sorry bro, i dont know what you were told, but God isn't pleased with you. Probably.

some more reasons;
John 14:11, 13 tells Christians to call upon God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Yet in Masonic lodges prayers are always directed to the generic 'Great Architect of the Universe'. Masons deliberately omit the holy name of Jesus Christ from their prayers.

Upon reaching a certain rank, people are called "worshipful masters", christians are supposed to reserve worship for the lord through jesus.

An online friend of mine told me I have sex appeal, that he told some girl about me and she was a bit in love with me.

I was shocked at that, because I have absolutely zero idea of how to have sex appeal and even less about how to display it. The one single thing I feel confident about is my Linux skills, my strength and a little bit my LOL skills (and I still suck because I'm at MMR 650 with like 65 wins and 90 defeats), and everything else I feel like I suck at it. I don't feel good about my body, social skills, dancing skills, nothing.

I also have a lingering feeling that I am childish and immature. I didn't mature while in college, all I gained was academic knowledge, because there was no time to grow up in computer science when I had to turn in a slew of assignments after assignments that only stopped the day I graduated.

So now I'm basically doing everything I didn't do in college, and this is a problem, because it means I am now getting in trouble at an age where I now have something to lose. I smoke weed and get mad shitfaced every other week, I hang out with borderline outlaws just to feel hardcore, and I recently totaled my car while on a drinking bender (I wasn't driving so no DUI, but I was the car's owner and had the obligation to not expose my car to danger and not go out).

Right now, dire financial straits are coming. I'm going to have to fork like 60% of my income towards buying a replacement car to prevent Shylock Goldberg from taking half my car's worth on credit interest, which means giving up all the luxuries I was used to. I feel like my life is going to absolutely fucking suck for the next year and I am not sure if I'm going to be able to weather that storm.

I'll try to think about how I'm going to get rid of so much people who just want me for my money.

Well, actually, come to think about it it's just one single person, but here's the thing: this dude is one of my closest friends from high school. We met when we were young and money was completely irrelevant. Then I went to STEM and he went to design, STEM careers are few people and high demand whereas every year thousands of designers graduate but few people actually need them, and as a result I make like 3 times as much as he does. He let money get to his head and probably started feeling envious at me. Now he thinks he's entitled to have full access to my money and every time I tell him that I have no money or I tell him to pay his own shit (which is true because I'm a gigantic spendthrift) he loudly says YOU MAKE MORE THAN $50,000 A YEAR, WHERE IS ALL YOUR MONEY AND WHY DON'T YOU SHARE EVEN A LITTLE.

Yesterday we hung out, and I announced them that dire financial straits were incoming and I wouldn't be able to pay any more of his shit. His thought was "SO IF YOU SUFFER I WILL SUFFER TOO?". Bitch, you never pay for your own shit, of fucking course you're going to suffer if I suffer, and the only one who is hurting you is yourself because you always rely on others and never on yourself.

So now that I won't have any money, this guy is probably not going to want to hang out with me anymore. Serves me right, since he's been slowly showing signs of slipping sanity and his attitude has been worsening since we left college.

Worst thing is I don't even ask for much in that regard. I'm actually OK with that other friend who is always polite when asking for me to pay his stuff, always says in advance he has no money and never orders too much. That other dude literally orders like he had the money to pay for it and then expects me to foot the bill. This will come to a stop though, and he will have no choice but to pay himself or hit the road, and I think he will choose hitting the road.
>>
>>31304670
Sweet. Some of the people in the reddit amas said that masons tend to hook their brother masons up with jobs. Is this true that you've heard or seen?

Also I've heard that in some lodges almost all members are 60+ for example and so the younger guys stop attending because no one to relate to.
>>
>>31304781

Just ditch him and tell him you're sick of him leaching off you
>>
>>31304794

First point, yes, it's a very good network to be a part of in that regard.

Second point, yes, they really need younger members, I'm 23, the next youngest person in my lodge who regularly attends is 50ish. Personally I think its great, one of my good friends at the lodge just turned 90, I've learnt a lot from him, and everyone in general, its like having 20 grandfathers would be one way to look at it.

I guess I'll still check it out though and if anything might just only visit a few meetings once in a while if there isn't very many people 20-40. I just feel like I'd stick out like a sore thumb and it would be really awkward...

I'm poor as fuck and looking to meet people in a new city, plus I really need a job. If being a freemason could help me find one I'm down. How does one become a mason? What are the requirements? How much does it cost? Sorry if these questions have been answered already, I'm rushing around to finish my dailies today before I have to go to bed.

>tfw your parents don't know shit regarding finances or even life in general except for some things

Should I bother teaching them, financebrah?

I've gotten in several arguments with them about how investing is a good idea and they just shut me down and say the typical excuses as well stuff like "well we're older than you so we have more life experience and we know things aren't always they seem" or just shit like that.

I've tried to educate them on common nutrition myths and about investing and stuff but it's just doing more harm than good I feel.
>>
>>31305701
not that anon btw. just guy asking you 100's of questions over last few days lol. Mostly about masonry
>>
>>31305701

It's okay, eh you can only teach people who want to be helped from my experience. Try to get them to read Rich Dad Poor Dad, that explains the benefits of investing wisely and why investing is better than working, but if they resist, there isn't much you can do anon!
>>
>>31305835
Yeah I guess I should just apologize to them and try to not bring up subjects they could disagree about. Better to be on good terms with them than to be right I suppose.

It just really bugs me some of the stuff they say, a lot of it anyone who knows anything regarding the subject would just laugh in their face and spit on them.

I think one time they were telling me that index funds are a stupid idea lol
>>
>>31305932

Eh, honestly each to their own, maybe you can't teach old dogs new tricks haha.

Feeling down. I've improved myself a ton, but not as much as I should.

I've lost about 60lbs, gained a decent amount of muscle. Look better than I ever have in my life. Dress better, talk more confidently. I got into a relationship for the first time with an absolutley amazing girl who I've now been with for 2 years and she is way out of my league. I dropped out of my shitty program and am upgrading my credits to go back to uni for a real major.

But its all taken me so long I feel like I wasted so much time. I've technically been lifting for 3 years now, a year and a half with a real program. But my squat is only 300lbs 3x5, I have to upgrade highschool crap at 24 because I was a retard when I was 17.

And now I've inspired all my friends to start lifting and I'm afraid what with my 15 months to get a 300 squat that they will quickly become stronger than me and I will end up being the underwhelming and below average guy of the group that I always was in my teenage years.

I wish I could be happy that I have improved, but I just feel like I failed in reaching the potential I could have reached.
>>
>>31306346
probably not.
>>
>>31306459

Start doing a strength program if you want to go up, would be my first bit of advise.

And only time will change that mentality anon, just keep making those small steps every day, and realize the past is the past and you can't change it, you can only learn from it and keep moving forward.

I'm in my last year of EE, i'm excited to be making above-average starting salary for new graduate engineers but at the same time the past four years have felt like a jail, that's how busy I am. It requires a ton of discipline, and really sacrifices. People like to make jokes about picking two of either sleep, social life, or good grades but I find its exactly that.

The math is very serious. Whether it's extra-low voltage stuff, high-voltage stuff like power systems, you will see a ton of math.
>>
>>31306574
I've been doing SS for 14 months now. Which is what I mean by I'm progressing too slowly. I spent a good 6 months on a cut however and had sciatica and was unable to squat or deadlift for 2 months which took a serious toll on my strength. But even so there are too many times where I either couldn't go up in my lifts, or I was too tired or where I missed a day due to getting called into work or something. I'm beating myself up because I know where I should be at if I followed the program better and I know how my friends will probably follow it better than I and end up outclassing me in strength where I failed. This is why I can't be happy with the progress I made, I know I should have done better and I know my friends will do better and the only reason that is is because I'm not good enough.
>>
>>31306544
You were right, close though.
>>
>>31306788

13 months is an awful long time on SS, as soon as you stop that linear progression and deload a couple of times you should move onto madcow or 5/3/1. Keep going though anon, lots of small gains add up to big ones in the long run.

Yes, I'm aware its a very long time, which is why I see myself as a failure. I would load up 5 or lbs more onto the bar and just fail so my progress went slow. I didn't switch off of it because my results weren't goon enough to do so. Everything I had read and everyone who had given me advice said I should continue on it until at least a 300lb squat, Which I am at now, so im about ready to move on, but my OHP and Bench are still terrible and should progress from linear progression.

How do I get a girlfriend as a neet?

It seems that to get girlfriend you need to have some sort of communication with the outside world and mutual friends, something like a job or going to school... How does one do this? ok, and i'll again again in the next thread, just to be sure.

LONG ASS TEXT INCOMING.

I'm a 18y-o dude from South America who finished high school last year.
Now i'm starting the Uni (started like a month), i picked English translator, because I know some english thanks to internet and I also wanted to learn a bit more so I can shitpost better and maybe travel to USA.

Here's the deal: I hate it.
At uni I'm in the stage of "small classes for the admission test"
I hate almost every class.
Verbs, analyzing sentences, stupid rules... what the fuck. AND all of these shits also for my own language.
I hated language in high school and i still hate it.

Is not that hard for me, but I REALLY don't like it.
I think I can make it, I think can study any career and finish it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it.
Every class I feel sad as fuck, my mind goes "what the fuck am I doing here?"

I don't know if I should leave the uni.
I don't know what will my mother think, she really wants me to study something. She also paid for some "preparation classes" like 2 months ago.
We also had trouble because I didn't know what to study for a long time.

I'm living with my brother in another city, because the uni is there. I had to become more indepedent. We cook almost 50/50, and I love cooking, damn you can see the results of the effort of cooking after a few minutes!
I was thinking, if I leave the uni, I can study for chef. I don't know if i'll have the same trouble (hating everything about the learning process), but I don't think so.
Also, i don't know if a chef is well paid.

What should I do?
I'll visit my mom this weekend, and the addmision test takes place this 17 (I can take another, but harder, in april)
Should I tell her before the exam? Should I even take the exam?

My life is getting better. I started the gym last month, I'm eating healthy, I'm taking cold showers, I bought a bonsai 2 days ago. And now I'm considering meditation. Also, I'm thinking about buying a keyboard piano in a few months.
I wanted to kill myself, but those improvements made me change my mind.
The only bad thing In my life (besides all my beta past) is what I'm studying in the Uni.

Thanks for reading, I'm gonna repost this on /adv/ tomorrow.
Seriously, thanks for reading.

Just curious but what are all you guys lifting these days? Stat wise? Seems like everyone here for the most part are fat or out of shape. I mean makes sense as its the self improvement thread. But I'm wondering if anyone here has improved and is still around to give advice or get advice on other parts of their life.

I'm in great shape, but not strong by any means.
I box, so I only take the time to lift twice a week, and do conditioning on other days.

Figure out if it's the coursework making you miserable or if you're miserable and that's what makes the coursework suck. English is convoluted as fuck, so it will only get more grindy and technical as you go on. If that's what's making you miserable then explore other options. On the plus side if your English proficient you could study abroad in America.

Paganism is better in every respect than Christanity, you don't even have to believe in it literally, just as a great mythology filled with important lessons.

I know this may sound a little odd but can anyone provide some advice on how to get stressed or mad? For four years in college (which ended a year ago) I used to run and exercise every morning and evening with my rotc unit. During my early years when I lost a lot of weight and cut down on my run time, most of my thoughts were how much how I hated being there and how I was gonna manage my time/mandatory workouts/sleep/school aka stress. During the first year I had a sophomore that made my life pretty shitty everyday and almost all workouts.

Well needless to say for the past year after graduating nothing seems to bother me anymore. No situation provides stress anymore and when I workout there isn't any fire to keep me going. I know I shouldn't really be asking mental health type stuff here but I don't really feel anything anymore. Have I become dependent upon a drill sergeant type person and how do I go about fixing this?

Ways I've Improved:
>Lifted
>Ate to my macros
>Studied all my subjects

Currently trying to build up the time each session. I'm sort of building up my endurance I guess. I've never studied in my life so it's a new experience and I find it takes a lot of discipline. Building up to 45 minute sessions with 15 minute rests in between is the end goal.

>Meditated
>Got up early
>Read part of my book

Ways I want to improve:
>Start making mediation a regular thing and build up the duration of each session.
>I want to start talking to more people, I'm not some socially awkward cunt but I just get a bit nervous sometimes.
>I want to start getting some plates in my new setting. This pretty much goes with the previous point, I know I can do it but it's just nerve racking.

That's it for now, start slow and build up.

Thanks bros.
>>
I love self-improving except for school. I still can't motivate myself to pull my school life together. Which is weird, because the rest of my life is going to based off of what I do in class the next couple of years much more than how much I lifted, what I ate, or what hobbies I had.

They just have to profess a belief in a supreme being, some are christian, some have less conventional beliefs. In all lodges, you have a volume of the sacred law, which in most christian nations is a bible.

>>31316148

I know a couple and they are good guys, personally not a fan of them as a whole though, I know people that have killed them self because they never fit in, with the not being allowed to celebrate birthdays and such. Also, I've known of people dying because the religion forbids blood transfusions.

They came to my house once when I was like 13 and home with just my brother, and i asked them to leave and they didn't. They came back for a follow up a couple of weeks later, my Dad answered the door and told them in not so many words they weren't welcome, with a large knife in his hand haha.

Combat it.

Do something NEW everyday, new excersise, take new route from work, take steps to finish all those things lagging behind that you always wanted to do ( fixing your teeths, jelqing, dance lessons whatever ).

If you play vidya, start FINISHING games instead of playing another rounds/matches/races on the same map with the same people, against easy AI whatever.

Pick up new books, watch NEW movies instead of watching the same one for the xth time.

Do something crazy like parkour, picking up girls in crowded places etc.

Works for me.
