>tfw shitting my brains out all night
Unintentionally cutting weight right now. Too bad this can't be 2 weeks from now.
This post claimed for my lovely princess, trappy-chan
>>37960666
I count 0 reps
:^)
>joe will never deadlift as much as me
>>37960747
Doesn't Joe have you beat on squat though? You'll certainly never outbench him either.
>>37960790
those are lifts noone cares about though
PL's most iconic movement is the deadlift and its the main reason people like watching PL meets
Just got back from a birthday party lads
There was a fucking cheese course.
Not making weight; pulling a Joe Bro
>>37960815
That's all you have though. Surely you must be interested in having your lifting be more well rounded than your belly.
>>37960815
>people like watching PL meets
Literally no-one has experienced this sensation.
>>37960836
tell me someone who didn't enjoy haack v gibbs or the SHW worlds
>>37960815
oh wow good job you can pick something up off the floor.
but can you pick up something then put it up over your head??
>>37960890
I apparently show a lot of potential for olympic lifting and it angers my oly friend everytime he asks me about it and I say I dont really want to :^)
>>37960904
why don't you want to?
>>37960904
Mfw you're ugly as fuck
Legit look like an orc
Anybody done Candito's 9 week program? Thoughts?
>>37960904
>my oly friend
>friend
"lol"
>>37960915
it would require a lot more dedication then I have now and I barely have enough as it is I can barely bring myself to work on improving deadlift and maintaining squat and bench
the training would be a lot more monotonous and I'd realistically need to pay for coaching if I wanted to be good-ish
I like moving big weights too and it would take a while for me to do that with oly movements
>really want some spicy chicken schnitzel with lemony gravy over pasta
>>37960972
>implying a billion reps of squats and deadlifts isn't monotonous
>implying you're lifting big boy weights right now
>>37961028
if you've become so deluded that you think weights of atleast like 200kg (which is more than atleast 90% of the population(being generous) will ever deadlift in their lifetime) isn't relatively heavy, you should reevaluate your views
>>37961050
oh wow honey you did a dead lift of 200 pounds? i'm so proud of you!
>Finally getting around to listening to it
>>37961201
Blackstar is fucking awesome tis a pity she's a whole is the weakest imo

Comfy late night music feels
What are you listening to anon?
>>37961217
For real? That was one of the tracks that stuck with me.
What are we training tomorrow, lads?
>back under the bar and back on the line

Front Squats and CGBP. Beginning of a very important week for meet prep.

>>37961564
Hell yeah, brother. What are you thinking about putting up? If those are state secrets then it's alright to keep mum about it.
>>37961596
They got you on night duty now? Rip in peace gains.
>>37961624
>Hell yeah, brother. What are you thinking about putting up? If those are state secrets then it's alright to keep mum about it.
State secrets. Three weeks out; I'll do the same thing I did last meet - post the results and then disappear for a week.
>>37961596
Shitty lad. Try to nap on the plane too.
>>37961575
Good ol dadrock.
>>37961624
Just for two nights. But yeah.
>>37961648
I have all day monday to nap until i start the night shift at 7 PM
Fuck it. I would have sex with Bjork if she ever asked me. It would be an honour. It would probably be super emotional and I'd cry after.
But like, good tears, ya know?

>>37960698
No way, that was me last night.
Lads, I need stuff to listen to in the last hour or two before sleep.
Right now I have the RTS podcast, and whatever interviews I dig up from JTS.
Doesnt have to be lifting, I also like history, science, maths etc.
Thanks.

That hurt to read but nice try
>>37961883
It was really hard for me to write that poorly. Sorry.
>>37961909
Speaking of bad writing:
>Lots of people began avoiding egg yolks when nutrition experts came out with a recommendation that eating cholesterol was bad for you because it raised your cholesterol.
holy shit I can't believe this is a real article
>>37961919
Holy fuck that was bad writing because the writing was so bad.
>>37961949
I'm assuming they meant that eating dietary cholesterole is bad for you because it raises your blood cholesterole
>>37961831
Just make sure they're internal
>>37961839
I could suggest a few torrents if you need material for other nights. Can't go wrong with Feynman's lecture series:
http://kickasstorrentsas.com/feynman-lectures-on-physics-volumes-1-3-pdf-gooner-t7707136.html
If you're into history/philosophy as well, Manly P Hall's lectures are a wild ride:
http://kickasstorrentsas.com/manly-p-hall-complete-lecture-albums-t348537.html
>>37961997
Didn't realize kickasstorrents was dead, use whatever torrent site you're used to. I think I got the stuff off of the pirate bay
>bench increased by almost 15kg in 2 months
>got applied to my school of choice
>got a weekend job for when I'm studying
>cut is going well, looking better for each week
Fuaaark things are finally looking good for me
Today's lifts, without my trip
Squat 120kg 2x4 +1kg next time, 4rep PR
Bench 78kg 3x3 +0.5kg next time, 3 rep PR
Sumo Deadlift 151kg 1x3... wtf? I got 1x4 @ 150kg easily last time, really not happy going up by 0.5kg next time, whatever. +0.5kg next time, 3 rep pr
OHP 53kg 2x4 4 rep PR, + 0.5kg next time
Dumbell rows 30kg 5x5. haven't done these for a while so i'll move up weights each week until i get back to 42kg where i was when i did these regularly
Hanging leg raises 6x10
Thinking of alternating sumo and conventional deadlifts each session
>>37962009
Kick Ass Torrents is still up, it's only been blocked in one country... in... India...
ARE YOU A POO IN THE LOO!!!!!!!!???????????
>>37962029
Congrats, lad. I'm in a similar spot as well - let's make 2017 a good year, yeah?
Anon made a post the other day saying someone was too weak to run sheiko. Is there any merit to that? I'm 305 wilks and thinking of running sheiko u80
>>37962070
y-yeah you too
>>37962068
I think that kickasstorrentsas.com is some kind of fishing site.
kat.cr seems to be working though. Like I said, I prefer the pirate bay.
>>37962080
There kind of is. The stronger you are, the lower percentages needed to get the same kind of training effect. If you're too weak/able to progress too fast what can happen is that a lot of the volume in sheiko ends up being too light to force as much of an adaption as it would in a stronger lifter.
Also its a bastard of a program in terms of workload and specificity. If you don't need that to progress, there's definite upsides to not using it.
>>37962099
I've recently strained my quad and I thought it'd be a good idea to not do much high intensity stuff + I'm on a cut

Is it autistic to pack my preworkout and microplates? might take the label off the C4 though, eep.
>>37962112
Pretty sure if you are anywhere near intermediate you shouldn't run a high volume program on a cut. If anything you need intensity rather than volume.
>>37962127
Im moving states in two weeks Raspy.
We both gonna make it, I promise.
Wanting your training supplies isnt even close to autist. If you start looking for a gym with the same brand of plates, then we'll talk.
Btw have you found a gym yet? And are you gonna keep us updated on your progress? We need you to get stronger than the twinks around here.

Get the fuck out of here
No actually get the fuck out.
Powerlifting is like any sport, it's only interesting when (and this is the most important part) you know who is competing. Or to put it another way, when you're invested in one or more of the lifters (like watching your team in a game). And to a lesser extent, when you're watching high quality performance, eg worlds and such.
Even the biggest deadlift at a nuff nuff competition is quite exciting
>>37962194
That ain't true though. Most sports are interesting without knowing anything about the teams or the players. Or even knowing anything about the game - I caught a cricket match and it was like I was quidditch or some shit.
The thing about power lifting and why it won't ever catch on as a national pastime is because it's boring as shit to watch - unless you yourself are about that life.
>>37962223
It will never be a national pastime you're right
>except in Nauru where it is the national sport
Okay so you're wrong but desu no individual sport ever captures a nation's mind so there's nothing wrong with that.
But I find football boring and that is the world's most popular sport by a long way. "the beautiful game" is, to me, 90 minutes (best case scenario) of pass pass pass dive.
>>37962179
I love Boney M, their song is how i got my nickname. Daddy Cool.
>>37962156
I'm stronger in some lifts than two regulars here, and i've made a bit of progress since then. my 1rm paused bench is 80kg, i did 78kg for 3x3 today. a month ago i could barely squat 120kg for 3 reps, now i did two sets of 4 and my 1rm is only 130kg. deadlifts are slow, but 4x 150 on friday and 3x151 today (like seriously i should have pused for the fourth rep) compared to my 1rm of 165kg is creeping closer.
I will start a weekly blog next week, detailing how much i hate my life as an ausfailure and then my new life in korea as an openly homo man in a while country of cute twink manlets.

>>37962241
>Population
• October 2011 census 10,084[1] (234th)
Lmao nice example of a nation you have there.
Everyone in America knows Soccer sucks. Youre not special for figuring that out. Fact is, PL is not even on the level of spectacle that Olypic weightlifting has, let alone any team or more directly competitive sport.
Yes its fun to train. Yes if you train in it, meets can be fun to watch. No, it is not a spectators sport.
>>37962268
Golf can be interesting. Tell me you didn't enjoy Happy Gilmore.
>>37962274
The only strength sports that have been successful as spectator events have been successful only when they were, well, spectacles. Powerlifting and oly lifting were both briefly popular at various times but the closest thing to consistent popularity has been the freakshow side of things. Lot more people like watching Strongman or even Highland Games than like watching the static sports.
Looking for a belt, my mate uses a RX leather double pronged belt and recommends I do the same. What would you recommend?
>>37962425
Personally I reckon single-prong 10 or 13mm (depending on what your fed allows) is the best all-round. Double prongs are just fuckers to get in and out of solo. Levers are a pain if you wear your belt differently for different lifts or shift your bodyweight around a lot.
>>37962274
You have to concede the point
Powerlifting is a national pastime (in Nauru)
>>37962135
Intensity when I'm at a risk for getting injured again while on a cut?
>>37962453
Yeah I've used his before and getting out was a nightmare desu but I do like the build quality. Do you have any issues with longevity with single prong?
>>37962505
I haven't, but I'm not super strong or prone to really cranking down on the belt.
>>37962502
if you're at risk of injury, you should be doing rehab/prehab work, not training regularly.
>>37962029

do upper body workout instead,
my question is what the fuck happened, i've never had that kind of pain before it was just like a sharp pang in my groin area anyone had any similar experience I really want to do my lower body workout tomorrow but if im still fucked I don't wanna make my injury any worse.
>>37963084
Isley, best accessories for bench? If I'm not running any program, or I can't just forget about making actual progress..?
>>37963084
Prove it. Post a picture of your glutes to show that there are no needle marks.
So whats the best way to calc TDEE as a lifter?
Im going to be autistically meal planning soon, making all my meals ahead of time and everything. So I'll have amazing control over my calories.
Also, can someone post that RP carbs and fats grams/kg and macronutrient timing? Much appreciated, thanks.
>>37963090
Urgh this reminds me of my hip injury. It took 2-3 months...
Please do gentle mobility work as soon as you can...
What the fuck can I do for upper body strength development and size development if I can't bench at my gym? Too much to explain on phone right now.
Also can not do dips anywhere.
I've tried strict pressing but never found that it actually helped me to get bigger. Opinions on push pressing as main movement?
>>37963161
Go to a new gym?
Had a horrific nightmare
Dreamt I had gone insane and all during the night I was being attached by monsters and demons. Things would be missing and i was too scared to leave the 2 rooms I kept walking between.
It went on for 3 dream days
I was actually thinking about killing myself because I couldn't take the torment
Wtf is wrong with my dreams
>>37963170
Any new substances? Stressed? Unresolved situation?
>>37963166
Can't right now until subscription ends which is like 3-4 months away. :/
I have no idea what to do even if it's two movements that will be as good as benching as a replacement, so I clearly need a strict or push press but something else for chest too. I was thinking about weighted push-ups or something but I don't know.
>>37963181
There were some things in the dream that came up that I am sort of worried about in the back of my mind
Probably stress induced I guess
Usually with nightmares I figure out I'm dreaming then force myself awake.
This time I really believed it was real and that I was just going insane and nobody would listen or help me.
Was so weird
>>37963161
Floor press. Dumbell bench press.
All kinds of overhead variations, I really doubt that they "dont work".
>>37963160
Fuuck no pls don't say this shit to me pls noo
>>37963186
So they have any time of bench? Or is it like a shitty gym with 1 back and 1 rack and all the gym bros reserve it for hours. To use the rack to bench. Taking up the 2 best prices of equipment.
I've been to a gym like that...
>>37963206

>>37963231

Fml
>>37963240

maybe even do a BB routine without compound movements.
>>37963237
I'm surprised you understood what I said after autocorrect fucked me over.
Yeah, I remember those struggles, this isn't "the gym group" is it?
>>37963186
Floor press?
>>37963152
Some more information so I might get an answer
Im about 93kg, a 190cm lanky and currently doing a bit of a volume block. My lifts are 315/235/405 sbd 1rm (1234 c: )
The TDEE calcs say 3200ish for maintenance. Zound about riggt guys?
>>37963247
I'm not megafucked I'm just in the rest stage. I can squat and deadlift. Up I can not hinge with a barbell on my back. Such as in a low bar sweat or good morning. Sitting in the hole on a high bar squat also puts a Lot of pressure on my lumber. The only way I can squat is a low bar position with high bar form where you break at the knees basically.
I can deadlift fine, but I have to pull the musculature in my hips to a healthy position daily otherwise I'll get tight and more prone to fucking my shit
>>37963206
Go to a physio and determine the cause of the pain. Mine was a tendon issue, it's all better now though, I have a little pain during sumo deadlifts is I stick to conventional for now.
>>37963248
Nope just an individual gym.
>>37963250
I don't think I can without a rack? Or am I wrong?
>>37963256
You probably have tight glutes as well. Try these out.
>>37963264
If I were you I'd do lots of overhead pressing, push presses, clean & jerks etc to build those cannonball 3D delts
>>37963256
>>37963265
Yeah I own this book. Dr kelly starlet has helped a lot but when you are reliant on stretching daily you get lazy...
>>37963268
Agreed but I have no idea how to program so many variations of vertical pressing.
>>37963276
Ask owg or perhaps take an existing program and use it for ohp. Like Greg Nichols 3 day novice program? And do it for OHP and program the other lifts using a weightlifting program?
>>37963264
How are you in this situation, you honestly come off as retarded. The gym is so trash you cant even bench press, the most bro exercise there is, but youre in a 3+ month contract???
Buy a cheapo bench and ask to store it there. For floor press, find shit to stand weight on, theres almost always something. Or, again, bring something in.
>>37963275
I know but that is why you are injured (also why I got injured).
>>37963193
Yeah, feelings of helplessness about a situation can trigger those kinds of dreams. Like you're trapped. I once had a stress dream where I flew down the stairs and smashed my face into a pool table and half my jaw just shattered and fell out.
>>37963285
I'm aware. My hips aren't aligned, hence why I wonder if one leg is longer than the other. I'm going to photograph the bottom of my squat and see if I lean.
I do stretch but having to do it every day to function gets me down
>>37963304
Your situation is worse then with hips out of alignment. There was someone in with scoliosis yesterday and their bar position and everything was out of whack. You might need a corrective insole
>>37963304
Doing alignment and activation drills immediately before working out works better for these kinds of things. Doing things properly under heavy loads also leads to moving properly during day to day stuff.
Also, I would never take any advice from Esme. She has no fucking clue what shes talking about
>>37963253
Highish, but somewhere around there yeah.
Start there and see what happens. If its less just eat less.
>>37963322
wait i thought you didnt count and just winged it?
>>37963326
That is correct.
Winged it is a bit lax. Ive been adjusting it for a while and I know how much to eat etc pretty well by now.
>>37963304
Put a foam roller between your knees and squeeze it really fucking hard, with a bit of practice you should be able to find a position that makes your hips click back into place
>>37963322
Yeah I have a pretty physical job so its a bit elevated.
Thanks buddy. (Mind if I ask approx how much you need at your weightclass? Just curious)
>>37963340
well yeah what i meant, do the same thing. eat the same shit every day so its easy enough to alter to gain a bit or lose a bit
>>37960713
Jesus I can't imagine lifting this much weight this many times...
>>37963351

Thanks for lifting bro I'm dif anon but these will help me
Ran two back to back sheiko cycles(6months training) and while my squat and deadlift went up by 20kg each, my bench has pretty much stalled as i only gained 5kg (from 100kg to 105kg).
Any idea why im not progressing as well, considering my rest/nutrition is decent, and im following the programming to the letter. Do I need to go up in bodyweight to see bench gains?
>>37962029
How did you increase your bench by 15kg in 2 months?
Also, congrats on everything. I want to go back to school next year (grad school).

How can I accurately determine how many calories I need to grow? I'm eating about 3000 calories and this was enough to make me stronger when I was 80 kilos but now I'm 77 kilos and I'm not seeing any progress.

Holy shit. I hope it's just water weight from eating a lot of pizza/lobster over the weekend.

Do many of you do rack pulls much? I'm better off the floor I've found but read it was supposed to be vice versa.
Should I blame Muslims? Or is there a solution to this.

Do you pull with a rounded back? Videos?

Lads is there any reason to keep doing spoto press on Candito LP? I'd rather try something more useful like paused incline.
>>37963928
Paused deads lad. Only people that pull sumo are weak off the floor
>>37963281
I tried but I can't find any material about vertical pressing out there. I just want to be able to have a variation of vertical presses without it being some stupid cookie cutter shit. I've found that personally, variations help me a lot.

Should clarify, is lock out a consistent problem for you? As in, a lot of PR attempts are failed because you couldn't lock it out, despite the bar flying up to your knees?
>>37963282
Yeah pretty stupid I didn't realize how much it would matter. If I press, I just need some chest right since my delts are used the same if not more than bench.
>>37963518
>Do I need to go up in bodyweight to see bench gains?
What is your current bodyweight? If you're super light, then gaining weight could help a lot.
HOWEVER, if you don't have a good musculature base to work from (upper body wors a little different than lower), then you may need to take a little time off Sheiko to build your body.
Sheiko is great for honing skill and recruiting the maximal amount of strength for the big 3, but it is not a balanced program for hypertrophy.
Spend a month training your upper more like a bodybuilder. Higher rep sets. Variations (OHP, incline, dips). Build your BACK. Upper for tightness, lats for control and speed off the bottom. Build your ARMS. Because why not. Build your REAR DELTS and rotators. For long term health.
TL:DR
>If you don't naturally build muscle easily, hop off Sheiko and do some bodybuilding every cycle.

>>37964430
No, they only imagine they're justified in their racism just because a few people "ruined their night". That's exactly how you dipshit racists work: you think you're justified by taking examples of shit that one minor portion of a group of people did wrong and extrapolating to every other member of that group. It's fucking ignorance and irrational.

Got it m8. Im 80kg but I guess im a twink considering im 178cm tall. I'm enjoying the challenge of Sheiko and wouldnt wanna stop it for now.
Guess my weakness is that in generally weak as shit and all i need to do is lift more and eat more. It just surprised me i didnt progress in bench considering everyone is saying sheiko is GOAT for bench.
>>37964601
>sheiko is GOAT
Sheiko is fantastic for competition prep, improving form in the big 3, and for maximally recruiting the efficiency of the muscle you have...
But in some ways, Sheiko makes you a glass cannon. You will be GREAT at the big 3, but potentially fragile because of the stress and the imbalance of the workload.
SOME lifters can thrive on Sheiko alone. They are mesomorphs and pack on muscle easy, probably high test with a good strength base.
For most lifters, though, an occasional break is needed to re-pave the foundation of your strength. Balance the pressing with pulling, do some higher rep sets, build cardiovascular fitness, etc.

Try it. If paused incline drives your bench press up, then you did a good thing.
If your bench form breaks down or stalls, then going back to Spoto-press might be the better alternative.

I've missed bench reracks at least 2 times in the last month. Just sort of rapidly chucking it backwards then unlocking arms without checking where the bar is relative to the rack. Pretty sure its how I'm going to die kek. On the plus side making great bench gains.

How do junior powerlifting standards compare to adult ones?
Ive heard people say that adults should aim for 350 wilks before being considered "respectable". What kind of wilks is good for a 17 year old male?

>>37965386

>>37965337

>>37965389
He was just asking a question, he wasnt being obnoxious or anything
>>37965386
Ehh... 300 wilks maybe? I suppose the main limiting factor is that almost all juniors have been training for less than 2 years, rather than any physiological handicaps.

Buda, how's BUILDING THE MONOLITH going?
Is it normal that my fingers get absolutely squished during snatch grip deadlift? I lose feeling my second little finger afterwards.
Doing 2x5 115kg right now while my 1x5 is 160kg no straps, no mixed grip, just chalk
>>37965324
Christian Cantwell can bench however he wants.
He is twice the athlete compared to almost any powerlifter posted here :)
>>37965481
>BUILDING THE MONOLITH
It's going well. I'm really enjoying the simple, high volume structure.
I'm only up to 55% for the 20 rep squat set, but I'm looking forward to conquering 70% at the end.
I'll be taking a couple days off lifting for vacation, but for sure I'll be finishing all 6 weeks of the cycle.
Not very powerlifting specific, but it's great for just straight hypertrophy, conditioning, and building rep strength.

How do I find out the best way to program accessory shit with y main lifts.
I'm doing Greg 3x week beginner for squat and strict pressing with DLs.
How do I program shit like farmer walks, leg extensions, ham curls and bigger things like weighted pull-ups, shrugs and BTN pressing?

Put it at the end of a workout day where you thing it fits. Don't do farmer walks after heavy deadlifts. Don't do hammer curls after heavy rowing etc.

Wristlet checking in, under 7 inches. Will I need roids to put up a decent bench?
Pretty much everyone I know with a better bench than me has thicker wrists and bigger arms. I've been told my arms are pretty small for the amount I bench and I definitely feel pretty unstable when I bench with high intensity.
Can I get anywhere near a natty 3 plate bench when my upper arm seems to be limited to 15 inches cold flexed?
why is OLY and PL so popular in Russia?
