places where theres more attractive people, (large shopping centres main malls) will have a large percentage of guys who lift.

Im from Brisbane and whenever I guy to westfeild chermside or queen st most people under say 35 are obvious lifters.

I dunno, I've lived around a bunch of small to medium sized cities - none of the main ones - and most guys are mad out of shape. If you're not fat or a stick insect you're probably in the top 10%. If you lift you're well within the top 1%.

I'm talking about young men btw.

Yeah I get that some people don't like certain things. I can't stand zucchini, for instance. But there's a difference between turning down tomato and eating mcdonalds literally every day.

Moved from the Midwest, US to Sydney. I originally thought that college aged guys in the Midwest were pretty big. Not cut by any means but can definitely lift heavy weight. Also I went to a uni gym, so most of the guys I saw were young and looked like they knew what they were doing. I gotta say that after moving to Sydney, I realized it's on a completely different scale.

People here are taller in general and you could definitely tell that on avg more people lift here. I still go to a uni gym and again on avg the guys are bigger than in the uni gym back in the states. Also, people seem to know more about correct dieting and lifting technique in general.

Now, obviously not all of sydney is like that and I haven't been in Sydney for that long to be able to judge accurately. But from what I've seen so far, there's definitely a difference.

>statistically it's not far behind the US in being overweight/obese
I think the stats are skewed. I find Aussies fall into two groups. Either fat as shit, or fit. There isn't a great deal of middle ground. I also think the oldies are skewwing the stats up, younger generations have a real focus on body image and fitness.

Hard to say. He never seemed to have any ambition of any kind. He was raised by a fucking batshit single mother and his sister is in a wheelchair. His other sister gtfo as soon as she could.

He worked in a shop for like 8 years or something, then he was fired. Outside of that he never expanded his interests beyond porn and vidya.

Another friend once commented that "He's happy with his life. He has all this time to pursue his interests." But it's like, interests in waifu simulators? Damn, man. Way to spend your time.

It's sad because he's still my friend and I try to encourage him to try doing stuff. Like I offered him to come to the gym like 20 minutes twice a week. And he's just like "nya i'mnotgonnadothat"

I wonder if it's that he truly lacks ambition or he truly, in his heart of hearts, feels that he doesn't deserve it.

This is worse than reading a nofap thread. You cunts are all full of it and just trying to force your adolescent views of society as being somehow factual.

There are a wide range of body types here. I'm in the cbd in a major city all week and I see corporate fgts with their gay queefed hair and beards as well as scumbag tradies wearing their fluro tuxedos.

Many have low body fat. One or two look like they lift but this notion that aussies are jacked is a feed of shit.

No idea about studying medicine at uow, I did engineering. But uow is a great campus. Its a very social uni, there were heaps of parties and uni nights. The trees and grassy areas are nice as well. All my friend that went to uni in the city were jealous of how social uow was.

Btw, you can go mushroom hunting in the botanical gardens next door. ;)

that's reassuring, i'm pretty keen on a social uni. especially if i get in for medicine and can use that on girls.

are there a lot of students there, or is it a decent student size for the campus?
>>
>>37964131
Not the guy you are replying to but yeah, UOW is a medium sized uni compared to other typical Sydney universities. It's quite comfy actually, if you are in a smaller degree/program you can also get to know your lecturers quite well which is good if you are a higher achieving student and want to network.

Yeah, I know that, and I'm thankful for it. It's just Swinburne is so annoying to study at it's unbelievable, and I kinda wanna transfer out of Eng and into an Arts/Science bachelor. But my atar is shit, and that makes things hard.
>>
>>37964495

>>
most people out of big towns are ripped, because well what else do you do. but if you're in a major city/town then it's like 60%fat and 40% ripped
>>
>>37964525
At this point, I don't even think I want to do Eng. My maths is horrible, and Eng Maths 1 is kicking my ass in some areas. I think I've gotta book some appointments with a course Councillor or something.
>>
>>37964560
maths importance is dependent on which stream of eng your doing. civil is the least maths intensive stream of eng
>>
>>37964610
It's probably either mechanical or mechatronics, or none. Civil doesn't really hold much appeal at all.

I'm thinking I'm gonna go on a huge change and try and do a criminology/chemistry(or bio) degree. I have a tenative plan to defer my eng course or drop out, and do single unit studies for criminology or whatever to see if I enjoy it.

sounds like the melbourne model would fit you because you can spend your bachelors year exploring what you want to do before specializing in something.
>>
>>37964785
True, but there is absolutely no way I'd be able to get in with my marks, and my school fees would be astronomical. I think I need to spend some time pissing around taking single units of study. I think Monash offers that, so I'm gonna approach them and speak with them about it.
>>
>>37964830
monash offers part time study where you only do 2 units a semester. how come your not on HECS?
>>
>>37964853
That would be ideal for a while. I dunno man, I think I need to change degree and, at the risk of sounding like a faggot, "find myself".

I am on HECS, but I don't really want a HECS debt that's stupid high. Also I have friends at Monash, and live nearbye, and I think they more or less offer a lot of the same content as Melbourne.

Also, I can't really see myself studying for more than half a dozen years at most like Melbourne requires. It just...well, it isn't me. I'm not a great academic, and I really just want to find somethign I enjoy to counter that. The few times I have found something I like, I've gotten pretty high marks.

How is the dating scene in Australia? A colleague of mine is a cute 20-something half-Asian chick and she's married to a shredded, 6'4" blonde man (both Strayan). She's not that attractive and in the States, he'd be dating extremely atteactive women. One of my friends is a 6'0" jacked australian dude, and he keeps telling me how girls here (states) are easier than Australian chicks.

Is the Australian dating scene harder to crack? Or are those guys just massive betas?
