Generally pretty skeptical of the pseudo-science regarding NoFap (e.g. "Fapping kills testosterone and NoFap will help you recover" or "NoFap will make you more comfortable with irl girls cus you're used to getting fulfillment from porn" I chalk the former to be false and the latter to be an inaccurate understanding of what's going on). That being said, I do believe that masturbation is a problem behaviour for many people. Jerking off 2-3 times a day to porn that is likely becoming less and less vanilla is indicative of a problem. 'Tolerance' is showed by the escalation of porn and frequency of behaviour. 'Withdrawal' is shown by the difficulty in preventing relapse after not fapping for a significant amount of time. 'Compulsion' is indicated by the obsessive desire to fap and find porn. I dont think that fappings the worst thing ever and I feel like the physiological problems assosciated are exaggerated by fags like the dudes on r/NoFap, but I do think it can be problematic and could be potentially addictive for many people (myself included.).

I barely come to /fit/ anymore as it's gone to shit over the last year and a half. But two years of fitness has improved my quality of life immeasurably OP. These worked for me:

>Barbell training (any beginner program All Pro, SS, SL, Reg Park, GreySkull LP, etc)

>Cardio (I found a well rounded combination of HIIT, old fashioned medium intensity steady state cardio, & LISS were good)

>Clean eating (avoiding junk food but not being anal about it, being mindful of having a well balanced diet with roughly equal fats, carbs, protein from fresh whole foods)

>Meditation & stretching (lowers cortisol and helps you be less anxious & relax)

>No Fap (most benefits were on 7 day cycles for me, timed it so peaked on Saturdays and hooked up with a sloot almost erry time. Also helped get rid of feels over ex gf)

>No MMOs, no drugs, no cigarettes, drink but have periods of abstinence to let body recover (one or two nights a month at most drinking with the guys to meet sluts was my sweet spot)

>General self improvement (do a course, learn a language, learn to play an instrument, read a great book, learn about a subject in depth, etc)

God speed OP. Also leave or lower how much you browse /fit/ after 12 - 6 months. This is an exit board if you actually progress and meet your fitness goals.

It's not because everyone has different needs based on their TDEE which is impacted by the volume and frequency of their routine among other things.

This is true, however the rate at which one can build muscle is also dependent on shit like volume/frequency of routine as well as genetic factors (and as someone else mentioned roids). The variable gain rate isn't a huge swing, but it's still significant enough to consider and not just prescribe a set number to everyone
