When I first started out at the gym they had me on machines, was doing ~175kg on the leg press which was the highest weight.

Then when I moved on to squatting I could only do 60kg. Felt like I wasted my time.

When I first started squatting I was 40 pounds overweight and had total shit form. Was super embarrassing but I powered through it and although my squat weight isn't impressive I'm never going back to "faggot ass leg press" unless CHAD and/or STACEY are hogging the squat rack.

I did leg press for 3 out of my first 5 years lifting.

I decided to remove leg press to see if id lose any gains and I didn't, in fact my squat/deadlift went up even more die to the fact I no longer expended lower body energy on the leg press and my legs developed even more.

TLDR: leg pressing was literally holding me back and doing nothing.

I'll have to max rep next leg day to find out. I've done 6pl8 on each side but I don't remember the rep counts. I like doing leg press on the days I don't squat. Idk if I'm right or not but it seems to help strengthen my legs to help raise my squat and diddy lift weights.

I'm a powerlifter and my squat to leg press ratio is at least 50:1. Meaning for at least every 50 reps of squats I do, I do 1 rep of leg press.

With slow reps going all the way down I can go 5x5 with 5 plate on each side. Not great but I try not to just do the "ego press" where you load up a ton then barely move it.

I actually prefer it to squats, it's easier to concentrate the stress onto specific areas of the legs based on where you put your feet, where with squats your quads ill always give out before your glutes or hams start to feel much.

After squatting Ill do it, 10 reps 6 pl8, 12 7 pl8, 4-6 sets 10-8 with 8, after doing squats 275-295 lbs 6-8 sets of 5-6 reps I'm can't give out exact numbers I usually to tired to count, is this cool guys?
