Recently a guy who claimed to have benched 500 in his life time gave me tips to increase my bench

>high reps
>really tucked in elbows
>do incline and decline
>flys without too much depth
>do a 1 rep max set

What do you think /fit/ i dont even wanna blow my bench out of proportion
>>
>Do a one rep max

For what purpose? That's a really great way to injure yourself or cheat the form hard

He said if you dont have the strength you will build it up
>>
Secret to bench gains is actually time and food, like any other lift really.

Unrelated OP but according to your img: I'm a hedonistic nihilist :^). #feelsgoodfam

>high reps
Overall volume is good, not necessarily high reps, but volume. Close grip bench, dips, and dumbbell bench should be two of your favorite accessories to add more volume.

>really tucked in elbows
This one depends entirely on your proportions and where you touch on your chest.

>do incline and decline
I wouldn't say either of these are necessary, although incline every now and then can be helpful.

>flys without too much depth
You'll get enough chest work from dips and bench to the point where flys won't be necessary.

>do a 1 rep max
This is important to see where you're at to adjust your training.

I'd suggest following some sort of powerlifting program to help your bench. Strengtheory.com has 28 free single lift programs.

Tucked in elbows is actually fucking wrong and leads to elbow tendonitis.

Decline is actually fucking useless, just an ego press with reduced ROM.

>Do a 1RM
When? Every day you train? Just 'do it'?

Absurdist here.
