Been doing 10 rep sets for 9 months now and think I'm starting to plateau. Should I lower the reps and increase the weight?

C'mon
>>
Realy though....I feel like a 6 pack isnt enough. Its like having 6 inches. Average. Basic.
>>
>>37884926
he said hallucinogens, ya freaken numale
>>
fuck off about the pic, help with my question
>>
>>37884965
I was insinuating that he should've started the day with cannabis instead of hallucinogens.

>not smoking so much that you start to hallucinate due to lack of oxygen in the brain

Cmn on senpaitachi, step it up.
>>
>>37884969
I think GVT eventually lowers the reps and increases the weight
>>
>>37884708
What exercises do I need to do to unlock centipede mode?
>>
>>37884708
Yes. 10 reps is too many to progress optimally on compound lifts. 8-12 is a fine range for isolation movements, but on compounds try 5-6 reps at higher weight.

>>37884744
He wasn't mocking your grammar, rather the fact that most people who have been lifting that long already know this.

What are your current lifts?
>>
>>37885089
Ever hear about German Volume training?
>>
>>37885089 oh okay, what do you mean by current lifts? I'm doing bench press for 55kg, OHP 35kg and squat 80kg along with some other isolation movements if thats what you mean. At 69kg body weight

>>37885035 just read an article on that and always wanted to do more then just 3 sets, considering doing this.
>>
>>37885176
You're clearly doing something wrong if those are your stats for 9 months
>>
>>37885197
this
>>
>>37885197 I progressed pretty slowly. I've almost doubled the weight on all my compound movements though. I started on 30 kilo bench, 20 kilo OHP (bar and could barely do it for the first 2 weeks), and 40 kilo squat. Is that a slow progression if I started fairly weak?
>>
>>37885197 and its more like 6-7 months now that I think about it
>>
>>37885132 Do you think I could do GVT with my own routine?
>>
>>37885275
You could always try it.
>>
>>37884708
I think of it this way. Low weight/high rep is good for hypertrophy and increased muscle mass = greater strength POTENTIAL. High weight/low rep is good for increasing strength. There is some crossover in benefits between the two, but those are the main benefits of each.

When you stall out working for hypertrophy, strength training can help push past the plateau by turning that strength potential into actual strength, thus enabling you to move to the next level of hypertrophy training intensity. When you stall out while strength training, deloading and working for hypertrophy can build up a store of potential that you can capitalize on when you return to strength training.

Sweet jesus, yes.

Time to lower reps and increase load.

Continue this process every week or so, then go back to 10 rep sets.

This is linear periodization. This will make you big and strong.

>now that I think about it
are you even logging your progress!?
>>
>>37885293
This sounds sweet. But not sure if it's based.
>>
Do you guys think I could just do the exact same routine I'm doing now (I've changed a couple times since I've started, but stayed at 10 reps) but lower the reps
>>
>>37884708
how do I turn my six pack into a glorious 10 pack like OP's?
>>
>>37885312 do you think chad logged his progress?
