Is it even worth going on a whole grain bread diet in order to lose some weight/body fat?
I know I shouldn't eat too much bread or else the opposite effect will happen.
But is it good enough, or should I look for something else?

Bread is good for you, and has decent nutrition, if you make it properly. Sourdough is real bread.

If you want to diet, its best to cut down on carbs. Replace them with fresh vegetables and greens, healthy sources of fat like avocado or whole milk, good protein sources, some fruit, and nuts. Figure out with a calculator online how many calories you should be eating per day. Now subtract 500 from that number. Eat healthy and try to stay at or under that new calorie amount. Exercise!!!!
