>>

I start at 9 so I hit the gym or yoga at 6am
>>

All i really want to do is get paid to travell and work out.

Dude he's a castle guard, don't correct him.

Accountant. Job is terrible physically. Lift on Sundays.
>>
IT-man, i fix shit between 7-16 and then i hit the gym or yoga.
>>
>>37838328
I do practice with my bow out front if I'm working alone.
>>
>>37838050

I work at a zoo and do a calisthenics circuit during my breaks.
>>
>>37838050
I'm a patient educator in a university hospital.

I'd be a hypocrite if I wasn't /fit/, so I take advantage of a huge gym which I have free access to.

It helps that I work 9-5 Monday through Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I host a yoga & calisthenics class in the evenings and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I'm lifting heavy in the gym. Saturdays I usually either swim, go mountain biking (if weather permits), or go on a distance run.

I'm not a PhysEd teacher. In the school sense, I'm not really a teacher at all. I'm a certified health education specialist.

We're typically employed in various settings (healthcare facilities, doctors offices, clinics, government health departments, schools/universities, nonprofits, etc.) to assess and implement health & lifestyle intervention. I work in a hospital, so I see patients as would any other clinician, and provide information and counseling on healthy living, disease prevention, nutrition, and exercise.

The fitness class I host is just for fun, not part of my job, and it's mostly co-workers and their family members who attend. Though there are a few patients who have improved their lifestyles and ended up liking me so much they come to my classes. It's pretty cool to see a guy take your advice and roll with it, lose 100 lbs, then run a 5k with him a few years later.
>>
>>37838050
Currently on summer break from college. Security guard right now, working an evening shift, so I train in the mornings and have plenty of time to spare before my shift starts.
During school I train after my last class ends but before dinner.
>>
>>37838558
>>37838558

so your like part nutritionist part personal trainer part psychologist?

how much does it pay?
>>
>>37838614
In a sense, yes.

I have some extra certifications that help me in this (certified diabetes educator, certified weight management coach, certified addiction treatment counselor, etc.) but you could also work for a public health or governmental service and have a job more similar to what an epidemiologist would do and focus on community health rather than individual.

Pay is decent depending on where you live. I'm in Louisville, KY and make $25/hr (I'm also fresh out of college and have only been doing this for a year and a half - more seasoned CHES professionals will make way more than that). You'd probably make more in a bigger city, depending on the setting.
>>
>>37838050
I work construction.
Usually 12 hour days 5 days a week.
Slowly working my way out of being a fat ass, now that my diet is better I'm noticing some gains.
>>
I run a small shop on the boardwalk in a little resort town on the east coast. Schedule myself for only nights so I can lift/sleep in all day.
>>
>>37838050

actually did the things you losers pretend to do and am a pro athlete

Antiques and art retail. Work usually means having coffee with old ladies and/or treasure hunting.
I have a lot of free time, flexible hours when I do work, and a home gym in the office basement.
>>
I work in private equity in London. I work out when I wake up.
>>
Research scientist. Stand/lunge/splitStrech while reading long research papers, do 20 pushups every once in a while, use the office gym to lift for 20 min, 3x/week. Have gymnastic rings in backyard and use them 5-7x/week when not going to gym.

Got 30 second back lever, 20 second half front lever, one arm pullup negatives, bar muscle up (1-2), bar roll over, multi-minute Lsit hold, etc. Little stronger every day.
>>
Militaryfag

Have to do a mock fitness assessment every other month (push ups, sit ups, 1.5 mile run. pleb shit)

i work 12 hour shifts but still wake up early enough to spend at least an hour a day doing my own routine.
>>
Tax accountant at a top 10 firm. Workout at night, 4-5 days a week. When I finish the CPA exam, I'll workout in the mornings.
>>

I work at a refinery. We have a full gym on sight. I get up at 4am and hit the gym at work and it counts as work hours since im badged in and my company values health.
>>

Teacher. Lots of time for /out/ trips and working out. Pretty comfy job.
>>
>>37840733
Why do you assume everyone on here is going to lose their jobs all at once?

Also get back in your cage, /r9k/.
>>
>>37840791
Youre not going anywhere. Youre desperate to take care of your precious families. Did you not see all the foreigners coming in. They'll keep paying it...either that or it will all collapse.

And if it does. Oh well. It will really be survival of the fittest then
>>
Naval officer, I can work out during work hours and get paid for it.
Pretty sweet deal desu
>>
Fishing business. Most of the year I do cardio at 6 in the morning and lift around 8 in the evenings, but during the busy season (February-early April) I'll deload and focus on getting some squats, deads, OHP and pullups in for therapy, as it were. Lifting 50 kilos overhead at work is a lot easier when you've lifted 70 kilos overhead earlier that day. When it's really bad, I'll begin at 7 in the morning and finish at 3 the next morning, so I obviously miss a few workouts, but I don't cry too much about it.
If I'm travelling, I'll bring three resistance bands, a set of gymnastic rings and my running shoes and do the best I can with that.

Grad student/research tech.

I run early in the morning with my wife, then go to class or the lab depending on day, then second workout of the day is a faster run or a lift, then home for dinner with the wife. Can eat throughout the day pretty much at will. Sleep I could use more hours but nobody's perfect.
>>
>>37838558
God how good would it feel to be one of the catalysts of a fatties recovery? Nice job OP, I envy your job satisfaction.
>>
I'm a medical student. Third year, clinical training.

I spend 60-80 hours per week sitting around watching other people work while not actually doing anything myself. I don't help or learn anything or even study for my exams, I just sit there. All day. Every day.

All I have time for is calisthenics.

Mechanical engineering student. (Only 12-15 units a semester).

I also built a business with my father before I returned to school and we already have people employed to do grunt work so I only work 20-25 hours (sometimes more/less) a week. I pay myself $25/hr.
>>
>>37843152
Fellow engineering bro.

I, too, cannot work out in the morning for shit.

Also going right after work has the benefit of completely missing rush hour (my gym is close to work).
>>
Research assistant. Usually i'll either lift very early in the morning before work, or take some pre-workout afterwards and hit the gym.
>>
Finally finishing up my degree in Biomedical Science. I saved up enough so that I don't have to work while I finish and that leaves plenty of time for the gym, especially now that it's summer

>>
>>37843363

No, I'm going to tell you the truth: do not go into medicine.

Let me tell you what. I worked with a guy today, he spends all day every day on the same organ. Just one organ. He goes home and half listens to his family while he READS about that organ, all the way until he goes to sleep at night. Then he wakes up bright and early, leaves immediately and comes back to the clinic.

He's old. His kids are grown, his wife is getting old. He's wasted his whole life on a single organ. He's the top of his field but it doesn't matter because he's never really lived at all.

Realtalk:

> Learn to get out of taxes
> Learn to save money
> Learn to invest it
> Get rich and retire early no matter WHAT your job is.

If I had it to do over again, I would've just driven semi trucks for a few years to raise investment capital.

Medicine is for suckers. It's for kids with daddy issues who have something to prove. It's for faggot striver poors who want to get rich but aren't clever enough to figure out what I just said above in greentext.

Fuck medicine. You aren't helping, people getting people to actually work out and eat a diet of something other than oreo burger are helping. Medical people just clean up the wreckage of peoples' broken lives, at the cost of their own.
>>
>>37843438
Read The White Coat Investor? Or into FI/RE?
>>
>>37843493
Yes.

I'm on my way OUT. Three surgeons have told me as much now. One guy told me to open a taco shop so I don't end up like him.
>>
>>37843506
So all that schooling for nothing? Seems foolish. Why not work for 10-15 years and pay off your debt?
>>
>>37843438
Damn I've heard this from so many people. DESU I think I'll be fine, I'm finishing up at an undergraduate school with no debt. My school's got a 99% placement rate, the 1% that didn't get placed was this guy I know who had a nervous breakdown and didn't go to any interviews despite the invites.

I don't want to be anything other than a small town's doctor, get payed a high salary, go on lots of vacations, fuck my girl, and lift at my home gym. I have loads of friends in business, finance, therapy, pharmacology, all kinds of fields and they work less hard than I do.

I want to work hard because I want my kids to be able to take risks, go into art or poetry or whatever the fuck they want because I really don't have the choice, going into anything other than a sure bet like medicine would be a bad decision for me. I have zero financial support beyond what I've built for myself so far.

But I appreciate what you're saying anon. I do have an overbearing father and I'll do some soul searching to make sure that's not my motivation here. Hope you feel better once you're done with your rotations.
>>
>>37843529

It won't take that long to get rid of this debt. My financial situation is very unique so that won't apply to most people. I have a way out that they don't have.

It's pure charity on my part to occasionally tell people over the internet that medicine is bullshit and to stay FAR away.
>>
>>37843506
Also a lot of older physicians don't understand how the game has changed since obamacare. Get yourself a couple of good coders and you'll be making more as a family practice doc than any who have come before you.
>>
I detail sold motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, etc. for camping world RV. Not a bad gig while I go to school and I hit the gym every day from 5-7 typically. It's usually packed Monday-Wednesday but that's why I'm not a beta and shy away from working in sets.
>>
>>37843538
>I'm finishing up at an undergraduate school with no debt.

> I think I'll be fine

You WILL be, if and ONLY if you run the other way and do what I told you.

Slick personal finance is more important than the job that raises your capital. I did the math and I could've kept delivering pizzas since I was a teenager and been retired years ago now. I could have been retired by the time I graduated college.

I want the same medical career you just described, but let's be real: will you have more time to lift and fuck your girl as a country doctor or as an idle rich guy who doesn't work at all?
>>
>>37843555

Good to know. That will help me get out faster.

Honestly I want to do more like what Elliott Hulse does, unlike doctors he actually helps people become healthy. That looks actually fulfilling.
>>
>>37838050
Engineer. I'm at work from 7 to 4 or 4:30, with every other Friday off. Lift on the weekends and a couple nights at week.
>>
>>37843551
Oh, gotcha. My buddy comes from a very wealthy family and became a doctor. He hated every second of med school and thought it was a bad decision, but loves his job now. Good luck on whatever you decide.
>>
>>37843595
You should do it. Thanks for the advice, I promise I'm not some idiot kid who thinks he knows better than a naysayer. I'm going to take what you said into account.

You'd be surprised at how well a lot of people do with just a little push.

I mean, for the most part people's lifestyles don't change much but every so often I get someone who really wants to change for the better. I ask them what their kids would think if they allowed their diabetes to progress to the point of losing one or both legs, never being able to have fun with them the same way.

I love what I do and would recommend it to any /fit/izen who likes a clinical environment and wants to help people, but doesn't want to be a poorfag as a fitness trainer.

Get to the gym around 6:30-7:00, lift for a couple hours, head back to the room, eat, wash up, get in bed by 11 after dicking around on the computer, wake up, do it again.

Im the sous chef at a pub which is a 5 min walk from my apartment. My gym is also very close to me, about a 10 min walk away from where i live.

I work 4pm-2am most days and go to the gym before work then spend my night eating as much chicken breast and sweet potato as possible. I actually gave up a 2$ raise in exchange for eating the way i do there. Works out in my favor compared to what id be paying for groceries.
