Why do soccer players look so DYEL and unatheletic?
I started watching EURO 2016 a few days ago.
they have no muscles and look just very skinny
why aren't they built well like football, basketball, baseball and hockey players?

Because its a sport that favours cardio and speed over power. Not much need to be strong for most players. Same reason marathon runners aren't jacked and sprinters are.

because you don't need to be very strong to play soccer, you need to run fast and be able to run for very long periods of time
there are 3 swaps per game which leaves 7 players (goalie is naturally less intense) running for the full 90 minutes plus discount
soccer is also much less explosive than bball or football
i'm not saying it wouldn't help for them to be big and strong but they don't need to be. cardio and explosiveness is way more important.

The reason is that playing soccer does not require physical strength and girthy musculature. You just need cardio and to be dexterous with your legs

If you get too big you wont have the agility and dexterity needed to play.
