Got a free olympic dumbbell today but it doesn't have any collars. Does /fit/ have any recommendations on what would be best so I don't accidentally crush my toes?

I really dislike spring clips as they have the shittiest durability, however it's the way to go with dumbbell bars because the collars are so short. This is kind of a thing for me on the rare occasion I use them because I prefer many smaller plates vs. few large plates. A pair of giant ass plates on dumbbells is unwieldy and awkward.
I much prefer the lock jaw collar on barbells though.
