After I started working out it became impossible to sleep past 8am. I use to be able to sleep up till 12.

Your body should need more sleep to repair your muscles and replenish itself for the next day.
I don't feel like I need more or less sleep, but I definitely fall asleep without any trouble now compared to when I did dick all day.
