Looked to me like that shitty mistake on his second squat attempt got to him and he overcompensated on his third to keep the judges off his back (not that unusual for the IPF - their judges can get downright punitive if they don't like one of your earlier attempts). From there he was kind of screwed.

It might not be.
The narrow grip a lot of IPF lifters use can be stressful as shit on the wrists. Its not uncommon for them to wrap their wrists tighter when squatting than when benching.
