How the fuck do I fall asleep on command? I want to try and go to bed at 9:30 from now on but I just stay up while laying down in bed and it's fucking infuriating

Also don't recommend me that melatonin meme shit, it doesn't work

I used to take hours to fall asleep and be thinking about shit all night but now I can fall asleep whenever I want. Can even just lay down and take a nap any time I want during the day.

Wake up at the same time. Don't let your self nap during the day. Be in bed at the time you want. Don't use your phone or distract your self just lie there until sleep comes. Eat all your meals around the same time especially breakfast right when you wake up. Look at sunlight when you wake up. No caffeine at all. Take melatonin before bed fuck you.

Stop watching tv/playing with electronics annoy an hour before. Get a good bed time routine down, ie., brush teeth, wash face...maybe drink some herbal tea (no caffeine). Read a book. Something. Then if you lay down and can't fall asleep, get out of bed and read some more or something. Don't lay there and roll around in your bed and get frustrated. Get OUT and do something relaxing, then go back into bed.

Also yeah wake up at the same time every day.

All my life i have had trouble getting to sleep. Sometimes it would take me 3 - 4 hours of laying there before i actually feel asleep unfortunately my cure was to get depression and the drugs make me so tired by 9pm I'm ready to go to bed.

Sleep hygeine has been a struggle for me and every member of both sides of my family.

For me I have a bad habit of going over the days events and planning shit in my life while I lay in bed. THIS IS VERY BAD.

I usually listen to Kripp's stream before I go to bed at night. His voice soothes me to bed like a baby after 15 minutes.

It's bullshit. I get up at 6 every day and I'm stuck counting ticks of the clock for at least half an hour while my gf is out in 5 mins max.

Do you make up new episodes each day or do you just think of the same scenario over and over again? I can't imagine that the former is very helpful at falling asleep while the latter seems too boring after a while

This works pretty well for me.

I've also been experimenting with this new one that seems to work.

Basically, I visualize something--anything--and I just keep adding details to it.

For example, I could visualize a telephone pole. I'd start with the general shape and then I'd start thinking about the texture of the wood and all the bent nails in it and maybe some scraps of old flyers and then those little rungs and the placement of the rungs and so on and so fourth. For some reason, it puts me to sleep.
