Going to start switching some of my brown rice out for red lentils. I figure more fiber, more protein, much better. Thoughts /fit/
sounds good to me
you got th puree machine thingy for spaghetti sauce?

Becareful with upping fibre quickly, unless you don't mind farting like a pro. But yeah, it's a decent idea imo. Legumes are good.
switch oatz with amaranth while you're at it

isn't that a lot more expensive? only problem i see

Sorry love the oats. Just looking to get a better carb source in there. Been eating a lot of brown rice, and love red lentils.
>>37657787
Not really an issue
>>37657759
can you eat amaranth raw? and also isn't it much more expensive?
i need cheap and healthy. red lentils and amaranth may be better, but show me where i can get it for dirt cheap like bulk oats and brown rice
>>37657814
so its the same price? or you have no concerns with spending more money?
>>37657845
I'm pretty sure they're roughly the same price. Even if it represented a 100% increase week over week it would be an extra $12 a month, which isn't alot. Plus brown rice exclusively will be replaced by brown rice and red lentils, so existing stocks of both should hold for quite some time

Green lentils are better tho
>10 grams fast absorbing protein per 1/4 cup dry, 1/2 cup cooked

Green lentils are only a little cheaper than brown rice from what I've seen. I like red a little more but they are pricier. Not sure where to grab than in bulk other than markets or walmart but fuck walmart

get pinto beans instead, lentils is a cutting food, if youre eating rice youre probably bulking
